Chapter 215: Was Yin Yixuan Kidnapped by You?
Wherever Ming Yu went, the three men of the Ming family followed her.
“Baby girl, I swear I’m not lying. You are my daughter!”
“Sister, sister, don’t run!”
“Sister, sister, I’m your brother!”
“Baby girl, I’m your father!”
“Sister, sister, I’m your eldest brother. My name is Ming Tian.”
Ming Tian?
What kind of name is that? Ming Yu twitched her lips and instinctively glanced at the second brother. Could his name be Ming Houtian (literally “The Day After Tomorrow”)?
But then, the second brother said, “Sister, sister, I’m actually your eldest brother. My name is Ming Di.”
Ming Yu: “……???!?!”
What kind of names are these?!
Before Ming Yu could say anything, Ming Tian and Ming Di had already started arguing.
Ming Tian pushed Ming Di. “Ming Di, get it straight. I’m the eldest brother.”
Ming Di immediately pushed back. “Ming Tian, I’ve tolerated you long enough! You were only born two minutes before me, so why are you the elder brother, and I’m the younger one?”
Ming Tian fumed. “Because I was born first! Order of birth matters!”
Ming Di scoffed, “Well, I’ve heard that in twin births, the firstborn is actually considered the younger sibling.”
Ming Tian kicked him. “Where the hell did you learn that nonsense?”
Ming Di retaliated with a kick of his own. “Why is what you say the truth, and what I say nonsense?”
Ming Tian roared, “Because I’m the eldest brother!”
“I’m the eldest brother!”
“No, I am!”
“I am!!”
“I am!!!”
“STOP!!!!!!”
With a furious roar, Ming Jingzhou clenched his fist and, in the next second, punched both Ming Tian and Ming Di.
“You two unfilial brats! Are you done yet?! Get lost, now!”
Ming Tian protested, “Why should we leave? We want to stay with our sister!”
Ming Di echoed, “Why should we leave? We want to stay with our sister!”
Their twin synchronization was undeniable.
Ming Jingzhou bellowed, “Because you two idiots are embarrassing yourselves and scaring my precious daughter!”
Ming Tian: “……”
Ming Di: “……”
Ming Yu: “……”
Why was he so sure she was his daughter? They hadn’t even done a DNA test yet.
Ming Tian and Ming Di exchanged glances and then suddenly ran off in a hurry.
Ming Yu was puzzled—why did they suddenly take off?
But just a few minutes later, they returned, as if they’d changed outfits in some kind of costume game.
Earlier, Ming Tian and Ming Di had their faces covered in chaotic, exaggerated drawings, looking like bandit leaders. Their true appearances had been completely obscured.
But now, both were dressed in elegant white tailcoats, their faces clean and fresh.
If one looked closely, Ming Di had even drawn an eyeliner line for himself.
As expected, “clothes make the man.” The two previously disheveled bandits had instantly transformed into noble and refined young masters of high society.
Standing nearby, Yin Yichen whispered to Xiao Yan, “I didn’t expect them to actually be good-looking. I thought they were just ugly freaks before.”
Xiao Yan chuckled. “Ming Jingzhou is a renowned handsome man, and Madam Ming, Yu Yun, was a famous beauty in the imperial capital. How could their children be ugly?”
Ming Yu turned to Ming Jingzhou, Ming Tian, and Ming Di. “Stop following me.”
“Baby girl, it’s my fault. I let you suffer out there alone…”
“That’s not what I meant.” Ming Yu cut him off. “Why are you so sure that I’m your daughter? What if you’re mistaken?”
“I could never be mistaken!” Ming Jingzhou declared firmly.
“Why?” Ming Yu frowned, confused. “We haven’t even done a DNA test, have we?”
“Ming Yu—is that your name?” Ming Jingzhou asked.
Ming Yu nodded. “Yes.”
“Who gave you that name?”
“I’ve been called that since childhood. My master… Pei Mingzhu told me.”
“Do you know your mother’s name?” Ming Jingzhou stared at her intensely.
“What is it?” Ming Yu blurted out.
Ming Jingzhou’s expression softened with deep emotions as he spoke of his late wife. “Your mother was named Yu Yun.”
“When you were still in her womb, she and I discussed baby names. We flipped through dictionaries, but nothing felt right.”
“Then, I told her, ‘You’re the fruit of our love, so why not name you Ming Yu?’”
Ming Yu—the precious daughter of Ming Jingzhou and Yu Yun.
But he had failed. He had failed to protect them, leading to one’s tragic death and the other’s disappearance.
“Pei Mingzhu must have learned your name from your mother and continued calling you that.”
“But that’s just your speculation,” Ming Yu argued.
“It’s not.”
Ming Jingzhou suddenly pulled out his phone and unlocked it. His screen displayed a photo of his beloved wife, Yu Yun.
The woman in the picture was breathtakingly beautiful, smiling radiantly.
Her facial features were almost identical to Ming Yu’s.
The moment Ming Yu saw the photo, she was stunned.
It was a feeling she couldn’t quite describe…
It was just a picture, yet she felt an overwhelming urge to cry.
Crying…
Something Ming Yu had rarely done in her life.
But now, looking at a stranger’s photo, she felt an immense sorrow welling up inside her.
Before she realized it, tears had formed in her eyes.
Instinctively, she reached out and touched the beautiful woman’s face on the screen.
Was this her mother?
She had such a beautiful smile…
“If you still don’t believe me, we can do a DNA test,” Ming Jingzhou said. “But I truly don’t think it’s necessary. It would feel like disrespecting your mother.”
“Then let’s not do it.” Ming Yu turned away, her eyes reddened. “But…”
“I know you grew up alone, suffering…” Ming Jingzhou’s voice choked with emotion.
Ever since losing his wife, he had never shed another tear.
But now, thinking about all the hardships Ming Yu had endured, he couldn’t control himself.
The world saw him as a powerful man, wealthy beyond measure.
But in truth, he was the most pathetic failure of all.
Ming Jingzhou looked up at the sky, trying to force back his tears.
But he couldn’t stop them.
A’Yun, I’ve found our daughter.
I swear, I’ll never let her suffer again…
“Baby girl, I know this is overwhelming—suddenly gaining a father and two brothers. It must feel strange.”
“But please, I beg you—give me a chance to be good to you, okay?”
“And me too…”
“And me too!”
Ming Tian and Ming Di pointed at themselves, their eyes full of sincerity and concern for Ming Yu.
Ming Yu wasn’t used to it, but she didn’t dislike them either. Though they were noisy and clingy, she strangely felt a sense of familiarity.
Was this the power of blood ties?
Then suddenly, she looked at them and asked, “Did you kidnap Yin Yixuan?”
