Chapter 48: Who Else Could It Be But Him?
Lin Qingyou directly yanked down Yin Hanyu’s pants.
In that instant, both of them were completely dumbfounded!!!
Yin Hanyu was shocked by Lin Qingyou’s boldness… She was a young woman—how could she actually just go ahead and pull his pants down like that???
As for Lin Qingyou, she felt heartache, shock, relief, and then heartache again.
Her emotions were extremely complicated.
Because of that, her expression kept changing.
She felt heartache seeing the long shard of glass embedded in the inside of Yin Hanyu’s thigh. It was about the size of a palm, and just looking at it was painful.
Lin Qingyou looked at Yin Hanyu, her eyes stinging—he actually endured this without making a sound until now?
The shock and relief came from realizing just how dangerously close the wound was to that area.
No wonder he sent Ming Yu away. No wonder he didn’t let Ming Yu treat him.
Lin Qingyou took a deep breath, suppressing the ache in her heart and forcing herself to stay calm. She picked up the tweezers beside her, preparing to remove the glass for Yin Hanyu.
But just as she was about to start, she hesitated.
She looked at Yin Hanyu. “It’s going to hurt. Can you bear it?”
Yin Hanyu nodded.
Lin Qingyou asked, “Do you want a piece of gauze to bite on?”
Yin Hanyu shook his head.
She hesitated again. “Do you want me to call a male doctor to handle it? I’m afraid I’ll hurt you.”
Yin Hanyu reassured her, “Just do it. I don’t mind pain.”
Lin Qingyou took another deep breath and then decisively removed the shard of glass.
Throughout the process, her hand was steady, and Yin Hanyu didn’t make a single sound.
Only after the bloodstained glass fragment was extracted did Lin Qingyou’s hand begin to tremble slightly.
Just looking at that bloodied shard, she could feel unbearable pain…
Yet Yin Hanyu, apart from a slight sheen of sweat on his forehead, remained eerily calm—almost as if he wasn’t the one who was injured.
Lin Qingyou felt deeply unsettled…
She gazed at Yin Hanyu, troubled. Why could he endure pain so well? What had he been through all these years?
After sprinkling some medicinal powder, Lin Qingyou carefully bandaged him up.
“Your upper body is covered in blood—are you injured there too?”
She reached out to remove Yin Hanyu’s shirt, but he stopped her.
Yin Hanyu said, “The blood on my clothes isn’t mine.”
“It’s not yours?” Lin Qingyou frowned. “Then why is there so much of it?”
Yin Hanyu explained, “When I drove into the Qingjiang River and sank to the bottom, I smashed the car window to escape.”
That was how the glass had lodged itself into his leg.
“But just as I got out of the car, someone swam toward me with a knife.”
Lin Qingyou was stunned. “Someone actually chased you into the water to kill you?”
Yin Hanyu had already driven into the river, and they still wouldn’t let him go?
Or did his pursuers know him so well that they predicted he would drive into the river upon seeing the oncoming truck—and even had people waiting for him underwater?
“So, the blood on you is from that person? You killed him?”
Yin Hanyu nodded.
“Do you know who it was? Or who wants you dead?”
Yin Hanyu was silent for a moment, then shook his head.
Lin Qingyou frowned. “You don’t even have a suspect? I instinctively suspect Leng Yifeng.”
Yin Hanyu said, “There are too many people who want me dead. I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
Lin Qingyou: “…”
Is he… bragging right now?
She was speechless.
Lin Qingyou still went ahead and took off Yin Hanyu’s shirt.
This time, she was stunned again.
Her eyes quickly welled up with tears.
“What’s wrong?” Yin Hanyu looked confused. Just a moment ago, wasn’t she fine?
“Yin Hanyu, you bastard! You call this ‘not injured’?” Lin Qingyou’s voice trembled as she pointed at his upper body.
His back, shoulders, even the area over his heart—all covered in knife wounds.
The one over his heart was at least ten centimeters long, horrifying to look at.
It was clear just how dangerous the fight had been.
But Yin Hanyu was indifferent. “It’s nothing. Just a few scratches from the fight.”
After all, he had fought barehanded while the other guy had a knife. Getting a few minor injuries was normal.
“These wounds are shallow. They’ll probably scab over in no time.”
Yin Hanyu spoke lightly, as if it really wasn’t a big deal.
To him, these injuries weren’t even worth mentioning.
Seeing the tears in Lin Qingyou’s eyes, Yin Hanyu reached out and gently touched her cheek. “It really doesn’t hurt. Just a few little cuts. They’ll heal soon…”
“Shut up!”
Lin Qingyou angrily cut him off. She raised her hand, wanting to slap him for not taking care of himself, but seeing his wounds, she stopped just in time.
Sniffling, she grabbed disinfectant and medicine, then forcefully pushed Yin Hanyu onto the bed.
She meticulously treated every wound. Only after finishing did she feel slightly better.
“Yin Hanyu, from now on, even if you get the tiniest injury, you have to tell me.”
“…Mhm.” Yin Hanyu’s response was perfunctory.
“Mhm, what?” Lin Qingyou raised her hand again but hesitated at the last moment.
Instead, she pinched his handsome face. “Try giving me that half-hearted answer again! Are you listening to me?”
Yin Hanyu weakly replied, “…I am.”
Lin Qingyou immediately raised her voice. “So soft! What, didn’t eat today?”
“…Actually, no.” Yin Hanyu said in a small voice.
Lin Qingyou: “…”
—
Lin Qingyou turned and went to the kitchen to cook for Yin Hanyu.
As soon as she left, Yin Yichen ran into the bedroom. “Bro, bro, bro! How are you?”
Yin Hanyu: “I’m fine.”
“Fine?”
Yin Yichen’s gaze suspiciously shifted downward. “Are you sure you’re fine down there? Why does my future sister-in-law seem so pissed off?”
Yin Hanyu smacked him on the head. “What do you mean ‘future sister-in-law’? That’s your sister-in-law! If you dare disrespect her again, I’ll kill you.”
Yin Yichen immediately took three steps back in fear.
“Alright, alright—sister-in-law, sister-in-law.”
Still, his eyes flickered back downward.
Yin Hanyu’s face darkened, and he kicked at Yin Yichen.
“The hell are you looking at?! I’m perfectly fine.”
“I got it, I got it.”
Seeing that Yin Hanyu could still kick, Yin Yichen figured he really was okay.
So he got serious. “Bro, who do you think was behind this?”
“Who else could it be?”
Yin Hanyu’s eyes darkened, filled with an approaching storm.
—
“What are you two arguing about?” Lin Qingyou emerged from the kitchen, holding a spatula.
“Nothing.” Yin Hanyu immediately acted innocent. “Just Yin Xiaosan being weird again.”
Yin Yichen: “…”
Bro, you’re really my real brother, huh?
Lin Qingyou suspiciously glanced between the two. “Are you hiding something from me?”
