Lin Qingyou nodded in agreement.
But soon, more doubts surfaced in her mind. “But she has no reason to harm me.”
“You want to know if it’s really her?” Yin Hanyu leaned close to Lin Qingyou’s ear and whispered a few words. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
Lin Qingyou’s big, bright eyes widened instantly, staring unblinkingly at Yin Hanyu in front of her.
Yin Hanyu was momentarily confused by her sudden gaze and couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
The corners of Lin Qingyou’s mouth lifted into a mischievous smile. “Yin Hanyu, among the three brothers in your family, you’re actually the worst one, aren’t you?”
Hearing this, Yin Hanyu was momentarily stunned. Then, he raised an eyebrow and responded with a half-smile, “Oh? Am I?”
Lin Qingyou nodded firmly. “Yes!”
“Oh really?” Yin Hanyu wrapped an arm around Lin Qingyou’s slender waist.
Not only did Lin Qingyou not dodge, but she also reached out both arms and hugged Yin Hanyu’s neck tightly, like a little koala.
“You totally are…”
“Yin Yixuan may seem like a troublemaker, but in reality, he’s actually quite straightforward and honest. As for Yin Yichen, well, there’s no need to even mention him. He’s basically an innocent, naive little sweetheart.”
“Innocent little sweetheart?”
Yin Hanyu chuckled. He pulled Lin Qingyou even closer, their noses nearly touching. “Xiao Qingyou, there’s no way the Yin family would produce an innocent little sweetheart.”
“Hmph, sure, sure. The Yin family is full of complicated people.” Lin Qingyou playfully pushed Yin Hanyu away and prepared to head to the kitchen to cook for him.
But the next second, Yin Hanyu pulled her back again, holding her even tighter this time. “Where are you going?”
“To cook for you.”
She had been preoccupied with thoughts earlier and hadn’t cooked dinner.
In fact, she had even invited Yin Xiaosan over to enjoy some special mushroom fried rice and spicy stir-fried mushrooms.
“I don’t want to eat.”
“If you don’t want to eat, then what do you want?”
Yin Hanyu pecked lightly at Lin Qingyou’s lips. “You.”
Lin Qingyou’s face turned red instantly, and she playfully smacked Yin Hanyu. “Pervert…”
To be fair, even though they had gotten their marriage certificate, they hadn’t consummated their marriage yet.
That night, she had fallen asleep as soon as she got home, and of course, Yin Hanyu wouldn’t take advantage of her in that state.
“Then I’ll go take a shower first…” Lin Qingyou wasn’t shy about it. She liked him, and naturally, she liked being close to him.
“I’ll shower with you…”
Before Yin Hanyu could finish his sentence, his phone rang—it was a call from the Yin family patriarch.
After hanging up, his brows furrowed deeply.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Qingyou asked.
“I have to go back to the Yin family estate.”
“This late at night?”
“My uncle is back…” Yin Hanyu said.
“Your uncle?” Lin Qingyou was shocked. That meant… the President?
“You should go quickly then.”
She had heard that Lan Si rarely returned home, sometimes disappearing for years. If he was suddenly back at the Yin estate, something big must have happened.
Majestic and solemn, the estate stood like an ancient, mysterious castle dominating the land.
Tall walls surrounded the property, their rooftops covered with green tiles, resembling a massive dragon coiled around the estate.
Yin Hanyu walked at a steady pace.
Inside the estate, the atmosphere was rich with traditional charm—intricately carved beams, beautifully painted ceilings, and pavilions scattered in perfect harmony, making it feel like stepping into an ancient noble residence.
However, Yin Hanyu had no interest in admiring the scenery.
Every time he returned to the Yin family estate, trouble awaited him.
Tonight, an air of tension filled the mansion.
Before he even reached the main hall, he could already hear a heated argument from inside.
“Lan Si, are you insulting me?”
“Big Brother, I’m just stating a fact.”
“Don’t call me Big Brother. I don’t have a brother like you…”
“Big Brother…”
“Get out!”
Yin Hanyu’s brows furrowed. He quickened his pace, wondering what exactly had happened.
When he arrived at the entrance, the scene before him made his eyes widen in shock.
Yin Haoting’s face was twisted with rage, veins bulging on his hands. With seemingly no effort, he flipped over a massive solid-wood table, sending it crashing to the floor.
As the table fell with a loud bang, the carefully arranged dishes and delicacies splattered everywhere.
Porcelain bowls and plates shattered on the floor with crisp cracking sounds, and food was scattered all over, turning the dining hall into a complete mess.
Standing nearby, Yin Yichen and Yin Yixuan exchanged glances.
In that brief moment of eye contact, an unspoken understanding passed between them.
The next second, they both reacted at the same time, instinctively stepping backward—looking for a place to hide or, ideally, just disappear into the ground.
Why did they have to be here for this?!
Just then, Yin Yichen noticed Yin Hanyu approaching from a distance. His eyes lit up, and he immediately dashed over, sneakily hiding behind Yin Hanyu.
Big Brother is here.
It’s safer by Big Brother’s side.
Meanwhile, Yin Yixuan, though a bit calmer, also subtly shifted positions to minimize his presence.
However, when they looked again, Yin Haoting’s bloodshot eyes were locked onto Lan Si with even more fury, looking as though he was about to launch a second wave of attacks.
At this sight, Yin Yixuan’s body acted on its own—just like Yin Yichen, he quietly moved behind Yin Hanyu as well.
Yin Hanyu was just about to ask what was going on when…
The Yin family patriarch, who had been silently sitting in the main seat, suddenly roared in fury.
“Are you all rebelling?! Daring to behave like this right in front of me?”
“If you act like this in my presence, what are you doing behind my back—stabbing each other?”
“Father, please calm down…” Yin Haoyang quickly stepped forward to support the old man, worried about his fluctuating emotions.
But the patriarch angrily smacked him with his cane. “You unfilial son! This is all your fault…”
“What does this have to do with me?!” Yin Haoyang cried out in grievance. “It’s Big Brother and Third Brother fighting! I’m on good terms with both of them!”
That was the truth.
Yin Haoyang got along well with both Yin Haoting and Lan Si.
In fact, Yin Haoting and Lan Si used to be very close too.
But more than twenty years ago, something suddenly happened.
Lan Si abruptly left the Yin family and joined the military.
Since then, he rarely returned home, often disappearing for years.
And every time he did return, Yin Haoting would make sarcastic remarks, constantly jabbing at him with his words.
Lan Si was usually good at keeping his composure and never retaliated.
Until tonight, when Yin Haoting finally said—
“I arranged some women for you. Why did you reject all of them?”
Lan Si’s expression changed. “Big Brother, you’ve crossed the line…”
“Have I crossed the line? Or is there something you’re hiding…”
