Chapter 52
At nine o’clock in the evening, Song Haowen felt it was getting late and advised Zhu Hongyu to go back, suggesting they could deal with things tomorrow. Zhu Hongyu didn’t listen and said, “Tomorrow is Saturday anyway, it’s okay to sleep a bit later.” So, she waited until after ten o’clock at night before getting up to return to the school to rest.
Since it was getting late, and there were few pedestrians on the street, Song Haowen volunteered to accompany Zhu Hongyu to the school gate.
She didn’t refuse and allowed him to do so. After she entered the school gate, he walked back home calmly. Upon reaching his doorstep, he suddenly remembered the matter with Ren Hua, feeling a bit uneasy.
Instead of immediately going home, he continued walking along the main street.
He didn’t know how long he walked or where he was heading. In a daze, Song Haowen saw a taxi stop not far ahead, and a young couple got out of the car.
The woman seemed to have had too much drink, staggering and relying on the man to even walk.
Watching the two enter a hotel, he couldn’t help but sneer, thinking, “What kind of woman is this? Can’t handle alcohol and ends up getting herself drunk. It serves her right!”
As Song Haowen passed by the hotel entrance, he didn’t stop or glance inside, continuing on his way. After walking for another ten minutes, passing a traffic light, he looked through the window of a shop on the street.
There stood a model wearing a white sleeveless shirt, and he felt the facial features of this model were somewhat familiar. Trying to figure out which girl it resembled, suddenly, a flash of realization struck him, and he froze.
Was that seemingly intoxicated woman Ren Hua? Song Haowen’s heart tightened. Having spent more than a year with Ren Hua, he had never seen her behave so recklessly.
Although she was usually laid-back, with a boyish personality, it was hard to believe she would book a hotel room with a man after their first meal together.
Doubts filled Song Haowen’s mind, and he couldn’t resist the urge to find out more. He went into the hotel, inquired about their room from the receptionist, claiming he had a pre-arranged meeting with them, and proceeded to their room.
Upon learning that the room was on the third floor, Song Haowen hesitated when he reached the door. He thought, “What am I doing? What if Ren Hua agreed to this arrangement? Am I intruding on their privacy? What if I upset Ren Hua, making her lose face and causing her to be angry? Will we be able to interact normally in the future?” With these thoughts, he decided to retreat and was about to leave.
At that moment, the hotel’s third-floor staff, a middle-aged woman, approached and asked Song Haowen if he needed assistance or was looking for someone. Without much thought, he pointed directly to the room where the couple was staying, saying he needed to speak to them.
The staff glanced at him, said nothing, and went straight to the door of the room, knocking and loudly announcing, “Someone is looking for you.” Her actions almost scared him away.
Just as Song Haowen felt extremely embarrassed, the door opened a crack, and a handsome young man’s head appeared, cautiously asking, “Who is it? Who’s looking for us?” Seeing Song Haowen standing in the corridor, staring at him in surprise, he couldn’t believe his eyes. “Ohh.. it’s the famous celebrity, is it you looking for me?”
Song Haowen initially wanted to find an excuse to leave, but seeing that the other person recognized him, he became calm and decided not to leave for the time being.
“Are you Yang Wei from Beijing University?”
“Yes, it’s me. It seems like we’re meeting for the first time. Why are you looking for me?”
“I’m not looking for you. I came here to meet a friend. Just now, I saw my classmate Ren Hua with you, and I want to ask her something.”
“Who are you talking about? Ren Hua? She’s not here.” Yang Wei denied it outright and was about to close the door.
Song Haowen unintentionally saw the other person undressed, and an inexplicable impulse surged within him. He extended his hand and actually pushed the door open.
Yang Wei, seeing Song Haowen rudely barging into the room, he was first surprised and then furious, ignoring the fact that the intruder was a celebrity, he threw a punch towards his face.
Seeing the incoming attack, Song Haowen swiftly moved to the side, avoiding the punch, and then seized Yang Wei’s arm, forcefully pulling him backward, causing him to fall to the ground.
Without bothering to check how the other guy fell, Song Haowen rushed into the room and saw Ren Hua lying on the bed. She had a flushed face, a dazed expression, and disheveled clothes. He called out to her.
Before Ren Hua could respond, Yang Wei, who had already stood up behind Song Haowen, lifted a wooden chair and smashed it towards his head.
Fortunately, sensing the danger behind him, Song Haowen quickly took a step forward, but the chair still struck him heavily on the back, knocking him down.
The time from Song Haowen entering the room to falling on the ground was actually very short. The staff member who helped call for the door was still standing by the door and hadn’t left.
Upon seeing Song Haowen being knocked down, she couldn’t help but scream, “There’s a fight! Someone, come quickly!”
This scream startled Yang Wei. He hurriedly threw away the chair he was about to use for another heavy blow to Song Haowen’s head. Turning around, he kicked Song Haowen a few times before hastily grabbing his own clothes.
Without bothering to put them on properly, he took advantage of the chaotic scene outside and quickly escaped from the crowd.
The staff member didn’t dare to stop Yang Wei. After he fled, she entered the room to check on Song Haowen’s condition. Fortunately, his head was not hit, although his back was injured.
However, he could still stand. He thanked the staff member and mentioned that the girl lying on the bed was his sister. When the crowd outside dispersed, he intended to take her home.
At this point, the corridor was crowded with onlookers, some of whom wanted to squeeze into the room to see what had happened.
Song Haowen urgently asked the staff member to persuade the people to leave and closed the door. He understood that, being a celebrity, if the guests recognized him, the situation would escalate.
Seeing that the room had quieted down, Song Haowen decided to help Ren Hua get dressed. At this moment, she had her top open, revealing her delicate figure, and only had on a pair of triangular shorts, showcasing her long legs. Blushing and not daring to look too much, Song Haowen quickly covered her body with a bedsheet, sitting far away, waiting for her to wake up.
Not long after, Ren Hua woke up. Initially worried about her misunderstanding, and thinking about how to explain, Song Haowen was surprised to find that, upon waking up, she didn’t shout or scream. Instead, she uncovered the sheet, her eyes ablaze, face flushed, and walked over to him, embracing his head.
Song Haowen was startled, and before he could push Ren Hua away, her hot lips pressed against his, and then, a fragrant tongue entered his mouth. His head buzzed for a moment, almost making him faint. In a moment of clarity, he forcefully pushed her head away.
However, as soon as Ren Hua’s hand left Song Haowen’s face, she started tearing at his clothes, attempting to undress him completely and push him down for her own intentions.
Song Haowen snapped back to full consciousness. Given her frenzied actions, it was evident that she had taken some sort of drug, lost control of herself, and the consequences would be dire if he yielded to her desires.
In this critical moment, Song Haowen struck the back of Ren Hua’s neck, rendering her unconscious. He then helped her get dressed.
Following the method provided by the professionals in his previous life, he first washed her face with cold water. When she regained some awareness, he fed her a cool beverage to dilute the effects of the drug. After more than an hour of effort, she gradually regained consciousness.
Ren Hua, upon seeing Song Haowen supporting her head and offering her tea, was extremely shocked.
Her originally pale face turned crimson. She didn’t know how she ended up here, let alone what had happened. Her big eyes stared at him in confusion, trying to say something but unable to articulate it.
Afraid that Ren Hua might misunderstand, Song Haowen immediately recounted the events to her, omitting the details of her confusion and loss of control. Although she was somewhat skeptical, upon hearing the explanation, she turned pale with fear, overwhelmed with shame and tears in her eyes. She harbored deep hatred for Yang Wei.
Ren Hua only remembered the events before going to the restaurant that night. Her alcohol tolerance was generally high, and she wasn’t concerned about being intoxicated by others.
However, she hadn’t consumed much alcohol that night and surprisingly ended up heavily intoxicated. She had no recollection of how she got to the hotel or what the other person did to her.
Once Ren Hua’s condition improved a bit, Song Haowen took her away from the hotel. In the corridor, they encountered a concerned staff member who inquired about his well-being, suggesting a visit to the hospital for a check-up.
She also advised them to report the incident to the police during the day, emphasizing that such offenders should not be let off lightly.
Only then did Ren Hua completely believe Song Haowen’s words. If it weren’t for him saving her, she would have undoubtedly fallen victim to harm, feeling a mix of guilt and gratitude in her heart.
As it was past midnight, Ren Hua couldn’t conveniently return to the school, so she stayed overnight at Song Haowen’s house. After the ordeal they went through, both of them were covered in sweat. Returning to the store, they freshened up separately and then went back to their rooms to sleep.
Lying on the kang, Song Haowen thought about the recent events. His emotions were turbulent, and it took considerable effort for him to drift into a hazy sleep. In the daze, he heard someone knocking on the door of his west room, startling him. He asked, “Who is it?”
“It’s me,” came Ren Hua’s weak voice from outside.
Thinking that something might have happened, Song Haowen quickly turned on the light, put on his clothes, and got off the kang. After opening the door, he saw Ren Hua standing shyly in front of him and asked in surprise, “What’s wrong, Sister Ren?”
Ren Hua’s warm body rushed into Song Haowen’s arms, trembling uncontrollably.
“Younger brother, I can’t sleep alone. Whenever I close my eyes, I have nightmares.”
Song Haowen hesitated for a moment. “How about I sit by your bed and watch you sleep?”
Ren Hua blushed and shook her head. “No, you need to rest too. Besides, you’re injured.”
“It’s okay. I’m a man; these injuries are nothing.”
“Brother, I want to sleep in your bedroom”
“Alright, then I’ll go to your room. Let’s switch rooms and sleep.”
“No… I mean,” Ren Hua lowered her head and softly said, “I want to sleep together with you.”
“What? That’s not possible!” Song Haowen hastily refused, his heart nearly jumping out of his chest.
“Don’t get any weird ideas. We’re just sleeping together, not doing anything else.” Ren Hua blushed shyly.
“Well…” Song Haowen didn’t know what to say. Saying too much would make him appear dirty-minded. He chuckled and said, “Alright, I’ll listen to you, Sister.”
