Chapter 49: Going Into the City to Pick up Luggage
As soon as she entered the door, Lin Weiwan saw a little fat man standing in front of the counter buying peach cakes.
The main reason was that in an era when the average weight per capita was a little over 100 kilograms, it was rare to see a little fat man like Hu Xiaopang who weighed 150 kilograms.
Shen Minghua was carrying a net bag, which contained an enamel basin, a water cup, two bars of soap and some other supplies.
Nodding to the two people, Lin Weiwan walked in. The thermos bottles with various patterns of red, white, pink and green were placed on the counter.
Lin Weiwan saw two of them were the same as the new ones placed in the Shen family’s storage room in the space. She decided not to buy them.
After a round, she bought three padlocks, two bags of peach cakes, and two kilograms of fruit candies. Even White Rabbit milk candies were not sold. I guess if I wanted to buy them, I could only buy them in the city.
After a round, I bought a piece of cloth and more than 20 nails before leaving.
I went to the public toilet, took out the things in the space, and then walked to the state-owned restaurant.
I ordered three taels of rice, a plate of stir-fried pork with chili peppers, and a plate of stir-fried rapeseed.
I sat down and waited for the food, putting the bamboo basket at my feet.
Hu Jingui and Shen Minghua came in and saw Lin Weiwan sitting there. They ordered food and went straight to Lin Weiwan’s table.
“Lin Zhiqing, let’s share a table.” Hu Jingui’s round eyes smiled when he saw Lin Weiwan.
He had seen enough this morning. He didn’t expect such a pretty girl to be so good at talking.
When he went to the countryside, his family repeatedly warned him not to find a wife in the countryside. He was also careful not to be alone when he went out.
“Lin Zhiqing, you were really great today.” Hu Xiaopang couldn’t help but praise him, causing Shen Minghua to look back at the excited Hu Xiaopang.
“I just don’t know if there will be trouble when I go back.” Shen Minghua usually doesn’t talk much, but he rarely mentioned it.
“We will testify for you. If they cause trouble, and the village doesn’t care about us, we will go to the Zhiqing Office.” Hu Xiaopang raised his neck and patted his chest to promise.
“Thank you, I think the village should be able to solve this problem. This way, our educated youth will have less trouble.
Otherwise, it will be a problem if these aunties who have tasted the sweetness of the introduction fee always keep an eye on the educated youth.”
Lin Weiwan heard her number being called, and went to get the food and brought it back.
“Indeed. But this grudge has been made. You should be careful in the village in the future and don’t be alone.”
Shen Minghua said and stood up to get the food.
A few more people came in at the door, Zhou Rongrong and Shen Shili.
Seeing that Lin Weiwan and the two educated youth had already sat down to eat, Zhou Rongrong and the others also found an empty seat to put down their food.
After paying for the meal, Shen Shili walked to Lin Weiwan’s table, “Hu Zhiqing, Shen Zhiqing, do you want to join us?”
Hu Xiaopang looked up at Shen Shili who came over, “No, thank you.”
Shen Minghua didn’t even raise his head and ate directly.
Shen Shili raised his eyebrows and smiled and left.
Lin Weiwan saw Shen Shili jumping so happily in front of her and her hands were a little itchy.
“Lin Zhiqing, do you have any grudges with Shen Shili? He kept saying bad things about you last night.”
Hu Xiaopang saw that Shen Shili came to the two of them just to make everyone isolate Lin Weiwan.
But Hu Xiaopang really hates men who gossip behind people’s backs.
Shen Minghua didn’t want to bother with people like Shen Shili. He had a good figure but a dog brain.
“Well… a little bit.” Lin Weiwan didn’t say anything specific. It was really hard to say what happened between her, Shen Shili and Zhou Rongrong.
After lunch, Lin Weiwan carried a bamboo basket and walked towards the post office.
Of course, she was with a group of educated youth who had eaten well in the state-owned restaurant. Except for Du Shanshan and Wang Qiaoyun, they were not there.
When Lin Weiwan came out of the post office, Hu Xiaopang’s eyes were wide open.
He quickly ran over to help Lin Weiwan get the package, and looked at Lin Weiwan, who only showed her head and a section of her legs, with admiration in his eyes.
“Lin Zhiqing, you are really strong.”
Hu Xiaopang took a package and found that the package weighed at least 30 kilograms.
Lin Weiwan was carrying a bamboo basket and two packages. Hu Xiaopang felt that the things were almost as heavy as Lin Zhiqing.
Shen Minghua naturally helped to carry one, and the three of them walked to the oxcart and put the packages on the car.
“Thank you Hu Zhiqing and Shen Zhiqing.” Lin Weiwan thanked them.
Hu Xiaopang and the other person walked back with a few things on their backs.
Lin Weiwan sat on the oxcart and leaned the bamboo basket aside. Soon, almost everyone was there.
Du Shanshan ran back with sweat all over her head, carrying a not so-small package on her back.
“Fortunately, we made it.” Du Shanshan sat next to Lin Weiwan. Seeing the two packages and bamboo basket in front of Lin Weiwan’s legs, she showed a surprised expression.
“So many things.”
“Well, I bought the things and mailed them over after I signed up.” Lin Weiwan explained briefly.
“You are still thoughtful. If I had to squeeze into the train and carry so many things, I wouldn’t even dare to think about it.” Du Shanshan shook her head.
Zhou Rongrong’s eyes turned red with anger when she saw Lin Weiwan’s two large packages.
The three aunts stared at Lin Weiwan’s packages and bamboo baskets for a while, and even if they were tempted, they didn’t dare to reach out and look at them to take advantage of them.
What kind of background did this educated youth Lin have to bring so many good things?
It was very quiet all the way to the village without any quarrels.
Chen Dasheng kindly drove the ox cart to the educated youth site, and Lin Weiwan thanked him and carried his things into the educated youth site.
Looking at these things, it must not be okay to leave them like this, so she turned around and asked Du Shanshan.
“I’m going to Carpenter Li’s place, are you going with me?” Lin Weiwan wiped the sweat off her face and asked Du Shanshan.
“Go, let’s go now.” Du Shanshan drank two sips of water and tugged at the slightly wrinkled corners of her clothes.
Wang Qiaoyun watched the two people go out, but didn’t follow them. There was only 32 yuan left in her pocket. At noon, she only ate the corn steamed bread left in the morning.
She only bought some necessities. She brought money when she went to the countryside, which was originally sufficient, but she ended up losing 50 yuan to Lin Weiwan.
Now I have to spend this money carefully, otherwise I will have a problem with my own food.
Thinking of the morning meal, Wang Qiaoyun pursed her lips. It seemed that only Cui Hongying noticed it in the morning.
I wonder if Cui Hongying will bring it up if it is the same in the evening.
If no one says anything, should I say it myself? What if I am targeted by everyone?
Lin Weiwan walked to the door of Li’s house and knocked, “Is anyone home?”
Aunt Li was weeding her vegetable garden in the yard. When she saw someone coming, she stood up quickly.
“It must be the new educated youth. You can tell at a glance that you are a city kid, and you are very delicate. Come in.” Aunt Li saw Lin Weiwan and quickly invited people into the yard.
Du Shanshan stood aside: It hurts… She just got a bottle of vanishing cream on purpose, and she was going to take some time to dig out the vanishing cream inside and replace it with the Pechoin in the space.
Yes, it is Pechoin, the best cosmetics in her supermarket.
Du Shanshan: ….Long live domestic products…
