Chapter 55: Going to the City to Buy a Pot
The title of the director of the Revolutionary Committee of Shen’s father is not for nothing.
Unable to sleep, since he would go to the city to buy things tomorrow, Lin Weiwan stayed in the space, feeding the three chickens and looking at the fruits on the tree with fragrant fruits, he was envious.
Finally, before going to bed, he found the account book of Shen’s family, letters and various detailed accounts.
Looking at the account book that was more than a small box, Lin Weiwan was in trouble again.
He couldn’t hand it over now. Mailing it back here would be a death wish.
He had to find a way to go back to Hai City and return some of the account books to make things more real.
The next day, Lin Weiwan got up and quickly ate some dry food, carrying a messenger bag and a kettle on his back and went out. He picked up the bamboo basket he bought yesterday and went out.
He found that the old educated youth were eating, and the new educated youth were also cooking corn paste in a clay pot.
Lin Weiwan left the educated youth courtyard and walked towards the village entrance.
“Lin Weiwan.”
Lin Weiwan heard the voice and turned around to find that it was Hu Xiaopang and Ye Jibai.
“Aren’t you going to work?” Lin Weiwan looked at the two.
“We just asked for leave to go to the city to buy some supplies.” Hu Xiaopang said quickly.
“Oh, so, let’s go together. Uncle Chen’s ox cart is in front.”
The three of them saw Chen Dasheng as soon as they arrived at the village entrance.
“Uncle Chen.” Lin Weiwan greeted Chen Dasheng cheerfully and got on the cart.
He took out a pound of brown sugar and a dollar from his bag and handed them to Chen Dasheng.
“Uncle Chen, I’m sorry to bother you with the round trip. Here’s the money for the car.”
Chen Dasheng was stunned when he saw the brown sugar and one dollar. “You’re too polite, Lin Zhiqing. I don’t need so much.”
Lin Weiwan stuffed the candy and money directly into Chen Dasheng’s arms. “Uncle Dasheng, thank you for what you did yesterday. Today I need to buy a lot of household items.
I have no place to put them, so I need to temporarily put them at your house for a few days. When my house is built, I will trouble you to move them back for me.”
Chen Dasheng was not polite when he heard it. “Okay, Lin Zhiqing, don’t worry. Uncle’s house is just empty. When your house is built, I will move it to you.” “
Thank you, uncle.”
“Lin Zhiqing, you have to build your own house.” Hu Xiaopang felt that a new door had been opened.
Last night they decided to build a small kitchen, and then they would cook in the house in winter.
“Well, there are many female educated youth here, and it’s difficult to turn over now.
Anyway, we have separated, so why not build a small house directly, in the backyard of the educated youth, so that it will be more convenient to live in.”
Lin Weiwan did not dislike Comrade Hu Xiaopang. The answer was also more detailed.
“What about your pot?” Ye Jibai looked at Lin Weiwan with a deep gaze.
“Uncle Qin gave me a lot of tickets when I left, and there happened to be industrial tickets in them, which was just enough to buy a pot.
When I return to the educated youth camp, I will temporarily build a simple stove with stones for the next few days.
The village chief said that it will be built in about a week, and people can live in it after working for a few days and burning the kang.”
Ye Jibai nodded. He originally wanted to find a way to get a pot for Lin Weiwan on the black market, but it seems that he is a bit useless.
Lin Weiwan and the other two rushed to the town. The new educated youth had been assigned to work in three teams.
Zhou Rongrong followed the old educated youth to pull peanuts in the field. The only sandy land in Dongsheng Village, more than 20 acres of land were all planted with peanuts.
Most of the work assigned today was to pick peanuts, and a small part was to weed the private vegetable fields in the village.
Zhou Rongrong followed Lin Huahua and watched Lin Huahua bend down and pull out the peanut seedlings.
Going forward, the aunt following behind picked the peanuts into the basket, and then another group of people picked them away to dry.
Zhou Rongrong saw that Lin Huahua’s work seemed easy, and she couldn’t bear it after pulling for less than five meters. Looking at her red palms, she thought it would be better to wear gloves.
“Hey. Why did you stop? Hurry up and work. We have to go home early after finishing the work. Don’t just stand there.”
Li Xiuxiu looked down on the weak new educated youth in front of her while holding the frame. She had already been sent to the countryside, and she was still pretending to be in front of whom.
“My hand hurts.” Zhou Rongrong muttered in a low voice.
“Come and see, this new educated youth said her hand hurts. At the beginning of the work, she said her hand hurts after pulling two seedlings. What are you doing?
Team leader and scorekeeper, come quickly, someone is lazy here.”
The work was not heavy to begin with, and now someone was making a fuss, which naturally attracted many villagers to watch.
“I just said my hand hurts, I didn’t say I don’t want to work.” Zhou Rongrong was frightened by the tanned girl in front of her.
Why is this person like this? Shouldn’t she ask for help when she sees herself like this?
“Then you should do it. We are so far behind other teams this time. You are being so hypocritical just to pull up peanut seedlings.”
Li Xiuxiu hated the woman in front of her. Today was supposed to be a half-day job. The peanut field was not big.
After finishing the work, everyone was going to go into the mountains to chop firewood and pick some hazelnuts and mushrooms.
If she was delayed, she would have to work overtime in the field in the afternoon.
Lin Huahua squeezed into the crowd and pulled Zhou Rongrong, “Hurry up and work, it will be done in a while.”
“I didn’t say I didn’t want to do it. Why are you bullying me?” Zhou Rongrong burst into tears. Why are you targeting me?
After entering the city, Ye Jibai and Hu Xiaopang got off the car. Lin Weiwan separated from them.
Ye Jibai and Hu Xiaopang walked to the back of the abandoned land temple to see if there were any pots for sale in the black market.
Chen Dasheng took Lin Weiwan to the only supply and marketing cooperative in the city.
They bought soybean oil, soy sauce, vinegar, a bag of salt, a large iron pot, a chopping knife, two large water tanks, one for water and one for sauerkraut, four pickle jars, so they could make some refreshing pickles, pickle some salted duck eggs, ceramic basins, bowls and chopsticks, and kitchen knives.
They also bought two pounds of egg cakes and three pounds of peach cakes. After moving the things to the door, Chen Dasheng began to move things to the car. Lin Weiwan put the bowls, kitchen knives and food into a bamboo basket with the pot on top.
Chen Dasheng carefully took out the hemp rope and tied up the water tanks to prevent them from being damaged.
“Where are we going next?” Chen Dasheng asked Lin Weiwan as he drove the car.
Lin Weiwan glanced at his watch. It was just past ten o’clock. “Uncle Chen, let’s go to the scrap collection station. I want to buy some newspapers to paste on the wall.”
He took out a bag of peach cakes and opened it. Lin Weiwan took out two pieces and handed them to Chen Dasheng. He also ate them in the car. He had eaten a little in the morning and was really hungry now.
When he arrived at the scrap station, Lin Weiwan stuffed the remaining two pieces of peach cakes into his bag and jumped off the ox cart. The old man at the door was leaning on a chair.
“Uncle, I want to buy some newspapers to paste on the wall.” Lin Weiwan greeted the old man at the door.
“Go ahead, go ahead. Don’t mess up the things inside.” The old man waved his hand indifferently.
“Thank you, uncle.”
Lin Weiwan said and walked straight inside. The things in the scrap station were piled crookedly together.
Lin Weiwan saw piles of newspapers in the shed. It’s better to say that she saw the big rocks on the newspapers with thick white mist.
