Chapter 109: Xu Nian’s Fight

Xu Weilan lightly hit Qin Yan’s arm. “Drive quickly and be serious.”

“Then go back and shout loudly tonight,” Qin Yan teased.

Xu Weilan blushed. This man was shameless!  She needed to maintain her dignity.

Qin Yan stepped on the accelerator. “Curious, what did you mean by ‘seeing the table’?”

“Identifying a bitch, that kind of bitch,” Xu Weilan clarified.

Qin Yan understood instantly. “How did Jiang Hao explain that Qi Lu asked the organization to introduce him to her?”

“Hehe, he said Qi Lu didn’t know he had a girlfriend at first, but now that she knows, she doesn’t have that intention anymore.

Is that right?” Xu Weilan scoffed.  This was some serious green tea behavior!

Qin Yan curled his lips slightly. “Only stupid people like Jiang Hao believe it.  However, he has too few contacts with female comrades. He’ll learn after suffering a few more times.”

Xu Weilan nodded. “Let them do what they want. I just need to make sure my sister Qian won’t get hurt or suffer any loss.”

After dinner, Xu Weilan prepared to cook for Qin Yan. He held her and pressed her onto the sofa. “I’ll do it myself.”

Xu Weilan smiled. “Military wives accompany the army and provide support to the soldiers. You spoil me like this; what’s the difference between that and being a lonely man?”

Qin Yan leaned close to Xu Weilan’s face. “Who says there’s no difference? At least I can hug my wife at night, and I can nibble and eat…”  He started to get restless.

Xu Weilan couldn’t resist. “Haha, okay, you go and cook; I won’t say anything, really.”

Qin Yan kissed her ear and went to the kitchen. Xu Weilan happily rolled around on the sofa.

Qin Yan cooked a simple bowl of noodles with beef, and Xu Weilan prepared the fruit.

She was expecting Xu Nian to return soon.  But as it grew dark, Xu Nian still hadn’t come back.  Just as worry set in, anxious footsteps sounded at the door. “Weilan, hurry! Your sister is fighting with someone!”

Xu Weilan stood up. “Sister Chunhua, who did my sister fight with? Why did she fight for no reason!”

Zhao Chunhua, breathless, replied, “It was in the big courtyard; she fought with Sister Yang Fen and Sister Luo Ying.”

Xu Weilan frowned. “Which Sister Luo?” She didn’t recognize this Luo Ying.

Zhao Chunhua explained, “She’s the wife of the commander of the Second Regiment. They live in the old family compound.”

Xu Weilan suspected Yang Fen was involved, and there was a reason for Xu Nian’s actions.

Hurrying over, Xu Weilan found the political commissar’s wife, Xu Moli, trying to separate the women. Xu Nian still glared at Sister Luo Ying, saying, “If you say another word, I will tear your mouth apart!”

Xu Moli advised, “Comrade Xu Nian! You’re a female soldier! Acting without permission will result in solitary confinement! Shut up and don’t say anything.”

Xu Nian glared at Xu Moli. “Then you should shut up those two women first! They have big mouths and don’t speak human words.

They just spit shit. My sister is fine at home, but I provoke them! They make up stories! They deliberately want to ruin my sister’s reputation!

They say my sister is eager to get married and used improper means to get Battalion Commander Jiang. Bah!

My sister doesn’t care about the surname Jiang! You vicious women who only think of men in your heads! My sister doesn’t have a job, but she’s a good girl with a clean conscience!”

Xu Weilan had never seen Xu Nian so angry.  She realized this was related to Xu Qian and Jiang Hao.  Qi Lu’s first plan failed, so she tried a second one!

Xu Moli tried to mediate. “Yes, yes! It’s those two sisters who did wrong. Let’s handle it properly and not use violence, okay?”

Yang Fen looked aggrieved at Luo Ying. “Xiaoying, where did you hear that? Oh, Sister Xu Nian, I’m sorry! I just heard others say that, so I discussed it.

I don’t know who your sister is. I don’t know the truth of the matter. I just had nothing better to do, so I said nonsense!” She then slapped herself.

Xu Nian still glared at Yang Fen. Xu Moli scolded Yang Fen for spreading rumors.

Xu Nian saw Zhao Chunhua and Xu Weilan arrive.

Xu Nian said angrily, “Sister Lan! I don’t want to cause trouble! It’s just that they said such harsh words!

They said Qian was shameless and used improper means to seduce Jiang Hao. They said she has no job, no skills, and only uses despicable tricks!”

Xu Weilan clenched her fists and glared at Yang Fen and Luo Ying.

Luo Ying, arrogant due to her husband’s rank, looked down on everyone. She sneered,

“Am I wrong?

The organization wanted to introduce Captain Jiang to Qi Lu, and your lowly country girl hooked up with Captain Jiang!

If you didn’t tip her off and asked her to snatch the man, then what was it? 

Jiang Hao has never had an ambiguous relationship with a female comrade before!”
