“Pfft~”
Cai Xiaoyun’s husband, Cha Zhijie, suddenly burst into laughter.
The others also chuckled quietly on the side.
This little wife of Cha Jiuzhang was truly amusing.
“Sheep mate randomly during the breeding season. Once the mating is done, who even knows who the father is?”
Hearing this, Jiang Tiantian was momentarily stunned.
“Hehe…” She turned to look at everyone and forced a smile. “Oh, so that’s how it is. I had no idea.”
Inside, she was cursing the ram to no end. Damn, turns out it was just a scummy sheep.
The ewe lay down for a while but soon grew restless again, standing up, taking a few steps, then lying back down. She repeated this process several times.
Finally, the ewe lay down on her side more quickly this time, letting out soft cries of pain.
“Hmm hmm ah… hmm hmm ah…”
Soon, Jiang Tiantian noticed liquid seeping out from behind the ewe as she pushed with all her might.
“She’s about to give birth,” Cai Xiaoyun whispered.
Jiang Tiantian became so nervous that even her breathing grew faint. She softly cheered the ewe on.
At last, two tiny hooves emerged, followed by a head, and then, a wet little lamb slid out.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
After more than half an hour of struggle, if the lamb hadn’t been born soon, they would have had to step in to help.
Cha San immediately stepped forward and picked up the lamb. “It’s a female.”
He reached out and peeled off a thin, transparent membrane from the lamb’s body before placing it near the ewe’s head.
The ewe’s large, round eyes were filled with love. She gently extended her tongue and started licking the lamb repeatedly.
The air was overflowing with motherly love.
The lamb wiggled its tiny limbs on the tarp, letting out soft “hmm hmm” sounds. It was incredibly cute.
Witnessing the birth of a new life with her own eyes, Jiang Tiantian felt as if the ewe and her lamb were glowing with a sacred light.
“There’s another one!” Cai Xiaoyun suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
Sure enough, another lamb slid out from behind the ewe.
Cha San happily stepped forward and picked it up. “It’s a little ram. Not bad, not bad—twins this time.”
San Shen was equally overjoyed and said with a smile, “I need to prepare a nutritious meal for the ewe to help her recover.”
With that, she turned and left.
Cai Xiaoyun, also in high spirits, followed her to help.
Curious, Jiang Tiantian asked, “How many lambs does a ewe usually give birth to at once?”
Cha Zhijie replied with a smile, “Most of our sheep only have one at a time, and only occasionally do they have twins.”
“Oh.” Jiang Tiantian nodded in understanding.
Cha San placed the second lamb beside the ewe’s head as well.
The first lamb’s fur was almost dry from the ewe’s licking. It was now trying its best to spread its legs and stand up.
A phrase suddenly flashed through Jiang Tiantian’s mind: “Moe Moe, stand up!”
She couldn’t help but laugh, squatting down and encouraging the lamb, “Moe Moe, stand up!”
Amazingly, the little lamb wobbled but actually managed to stand up.
Jiang Tiantian’s eyes lit up. She stepped back a little. “Moe Moe, come here.”
Unexpectedly, the lamb really started tottering toward her.
At that moment, Jiang Tiantian caught something strange out of the corner of her eye.
She crouched behind the ewe and suddenly cried out, “There’s another one!”
A small hoof was visible behind the ewe, but it seemed she had run out of strength, leaving the lamb stuck in place.
Until now, everyone had been focused on the two newborn lambs and hadn’t noticed.
Cha San frowned deeply upon hearing this.
He quickly stood up and walked over to observe. After a few seconds, he said gravely, “This isn’t good. It’s stuck.”
Without hesitation, he grabbed the bottle of alcohol he had prepared beforehand, sterilized his hands, and reached inside to pull the lamb out.
Soon, a frail little lamb was pulled out.
But it was limp, lifeless.
Cha San held the lamb by its hind legs, letting its head hang down as he patted its body. Still, there was no response.
“Sigh… It was stuck for too long. It probably won’t make it,” he said regretfully.
Jiang Tiantian felt a deep sadness well up in her chest, heartbroken as she watched a little life slip away before her eyes.
Determined, she reached out her hands. “Let me try.”
Cha San was startled but handed the lamb to her.
Jiang Tiantian quickly placed the lamb on the tarp, overlapped her thumbs, and pressed down on the lamb’s tiny heart, performing CPR.
She muttered desperately, “Come on, wake up… You haven’t even opened your eyes to see the world yet…”
The fragile, tiny life in her hands made her afraid to use too much force, fearing she might break its ribs.
The helplessness of watching life fade away made Jiang Tiantian’s voice choke with emotion.
Ignoring the filth, she pried open the lamb’s mouth and blew air into it.
Unknowingly, tears slipped down her cheeks and dripped onto the lamb’s head.
Cha Zhijie was startled by her actions and quickly tried to stop her. “What are you doing? Don’t waste your energy—it’s useless.”
This lamb had been stuck inside for so long, and it was so frail at birth. Even if it survived now, it probably wouldn’t live long.
Jiang Tiantian didn’t stop. With teary eyes, she insisted, “No! I can still feel its faint heartbeat. You can’t just give up.”
Unable to watch anymore, Cha Zhijie turned and left the pen.
Cha San sighed and instead focused on comforting the exhausted ewe and her other two lambs, encouraging them to stand.
Jiang Tiantian, tears blurring her vision, continued pressing on the lamb’s tiny heart while mentally pleading with Xiao Qi.
“Xiao Qi, the system has medicine, right? Something that can save it?”
“I don’t need the system’s grand reward for reaching five million followers. Please, ask the system for a medicine to save this lamb.”
“Right now! Immediately! I can’t just watch this innocent little life fade away.”
“Please help me—I promise I’ll work even harder to make good videos.”
“I’m begging you…”
Xiao Qi: “Wait a moment, I’m applying for it.”
“Okay, hurry!” Jiang Tiantian said gratefully.
Xiao Qi: “Approved.”
Suddenly, Jiang Tiantian felt something strange in her palm.
She discreetly glanced down—a small, milky-white pill, about the size of a pea, had appeared.
Xiao Qi: “This is a Basic Regeneration Pill. It can instantly inject new life energy into small animals on the brink of death.”
“This lamb was already weak in the womb. Try it—but whether it survives depends on fate.”
Jiang Tiantian quickly checked to make sure no one was looking. She pried open the lamb’s mouth and slipped the pill inside before gently closing its mouth.
She nervously continued pressing on the lamb’s chest, closely watching for any changes.
“Xiao Qi, are there any side effects?” she asked.
Xiao Qi: “No. If it works, it will only benefit the lamb, not harm it.”
Finally, Jiang Tiantian felt the faint heartbeat under her fingers grow stronger.
Crying, she suddenly laughed.
“Come on, little one… I believe in you.”
A few minutes later, the lamb suddenly let out a deep breath and slowly opened its eyes.
Oh, what eyes they were! Round, glistening, pure, innocent, and filled with curiosity as they gazed straight at Jiang Tiantian.
It was as if they were filled with the most beautiful starlight.
Jiang Tiantian was nearly mesmerized by that gaze.
She plopped down on the ground, grinning, and started bawling, “Ahhh… You finally woke up… Ahhh… You scared me to death… Ahhh…”
