Chapter 55
“You little girl, do you really think your own designs are better than those created by our professional tailors?”
Cai Qingyuan finally showed some anger.
If it weren’t for the fact that she didn’t seem to be deliberately causing trouble, he would have already had her thrown out.
“Exactly! Look at this chubby girl, dressed so shabbily. She probably doesn’t even know where she is.”
“She has no idea how high the sky is! Does she really think the tailors here are just ordinary seamstresses?”
Mocking voices surrounded her.
Ye Yao frowned. She had only wanted to have her clothes made according to her own preferences, but now…
She glanced at the ready-made garments in the shop and shook her head.
“To be honest, the designs here aren’t as good as the ones I came up with myself.”
—-
After a brief silence, the room erupted into laughter.
All the customers stopped what they were doing to watch this ridiculous scene unfold.
By now, Cai Qingyuan was almost certain that this girl was just being unreasonable.
“You don’t believe me?”
Ye Yao didn’t give him a chance to get angry and continued immediately.
“Please bring me some paper and a pen.”
The young apprentice hesitated, his body stiff, not daring to move without Cai Qingyuan’s permission.
Cai Qingyuan said, “Give it to her.”
He was curious to see what this girl could come up with.
Ye Yao took the paper and pen without hesitation and walked straight to the lounge area to sit down.
Not only Cai Qingyuan and the customers, but even the tailors at the counter gathered around her.
Ye Yao instantly became the center of attention. But instead of feeling nervous, she looked even more excited.
Swish, swish, swish.
Smooth, fluid lines quickly spread across the blank page.
The entire shop fell silent.
No one expected her to actually start drawing, let alone move so skillfully and confidently.
Of course, this didn’t mean anything yet—no one could say for sure if what she was drawing would turn out to be anything special.
In just a few minutes, the sketch began to take shape.
Cai Qingyuan suddenly let out a “Huh?” in surprise.
Everyone turned to look at him. What happened?
Cai Qingyuan seemed completely focused, staring intently at Ye Yao’s pen strokes.
At this moment, Ye Yao had completely entered a state of deep concentration.
In her past life, she was far from just a pretty face. Beauty was just a bonus in her career—by the time she was in her twenties, she was already a rising star in the design industry.
Although most of her work was in jewelry design, she had also dabbled in fashion. And as someone reborn with knowledge of modern trends, the fashion ideas in her mind were like an untapped goldmine in the 1990s.
“This…”
As the sketch neared completion, Cai Qingyuan’s expression kept changing.
Not just him—the other tailors also looked puzzled and intrigued at times.
“Hoo…”
Ye Yao finally put down her pen, took a deep breath, and looked up at Cai Qingyuan.
“Boss, this is the design for the outfit I’d like to have made in your shop.”
“Can I take a closer look?”
Compared to his earlier indifference, Cai Qingyuan now looked serious, even a little excited and incredulous.
“Of course.”
Ye Yao calmly handed the design to him, though inside, she was thrilled.
Very soon, they would realize who the real amateur was.
The other tailors gathered around Cai Qingyuan, their expressions mirroring his.
The surrounding customers were stunned.
They had expected the chubby girl to be kicked out of the shop.
But now, it seemed like something entirely different was happening.
Had she really drawn something incredible?
