Chapter 56
“Girl, did you come up with this yourself?”
After a full four or five minutes, Cai Qingyuan finally withdrew his gaze and looked at Ye Yao. His expression shifted multiple times.
“Yes, boss. What do you think?”
“I…”
Cai Qingyuan was momentarily at a loss for words. What did he think? This was completely unheard of and unseen before!
The design was clearly for sportswear, but he had never seen athletic clothing styled like this before!
For the first time, he felt that he had misjudged someone.
“We’ll take your order.”
Now, he was truly curious to see what the finished product would look like when made according to this design.
Ye Yao smiled slightly. It seemed that getting him to admit her designs were superior to theirs was quite a challenge.
As Cai Qingyuan spoke, he carefully folded the design sheet.
Since they had accepted the order, the design should naturally be in their safekeeping.
Ye Yao didn’t mind. She could easily draw a dozen more designs like this.
Judging by the boss’s reaction, perhaps her grand plan for making money was starting to take shape.
“The fabric and color selection must follow my specifications exactly. Also, I need to discuss some finer details with the lead tailor.”
Sometimes, it’s the small details that truly define a garment’s taste and quality.
Upon hearing this, the tailors were eager to get started.
But to their surprise, Cai Qingyuan said, “Come upstairs with me.”
As Ye Yao followed Cai Qingyuan up the stairs, the onlookers were left completely bewildered by this unexpected turn of events.

That afternoon, Ye Yao returned to the courtyard carrying large bags of purchases.
The courtyard was full of idle gossiping women who immediately became curious when they saw her loaded with bags.
Ye Yao casually brushed them off with a few words before heading home.
Zhang Qiufeng had been anxious all day—after all, this was the first time Ye Yao had gone out on her own.
The moment she saw her daughter return, she finally felt relieved.
However, upon seeing the sheer amount of things Ye Yao had bought, her relief turned into worry again.
Before leaving, Ye Yao had asked for the betrothal money from the Li family. That sum was no small amount for them. Zhang Qiufeng had no idea what her daughter was planning to buy that required her to take that money.
Now, she finally understood.
Fabric shoes and vests were understandable—those were necessities. But there were also many things she didn’t even recognize!
“Shampoo? Face cream? Yao Yao, what are all these?”
The small bottles were exquisitely packaged, clearly expensive.
As Ye Yao unpacked, she explained, “This is for washing hair, and this is for the face.”
Zhang Qiufeng’s brows furrowed even more. “But we already have—”
“Mom, these are specially made for hair and skin care,” Ye Yao interrupted before she could finish.
She had had enough of washing her hair with laundry detergent.
And the cheap face cream they used at home? It felt like smearing lard on her face—oily beyond belief.
Zhang Qiufeng stared blankly at her daughter. Of course, she knew that spending money usually meant better quality. But they simply weren’t in a financial position for such luxuries.
“Yao Yao, you didn’t spend all the money, did you?”
If her daughter said yes, she might just faint on the spot.
Ye Yao grinned mischievously at her. “Of course not! There’s still some left. But don’t worry, Mom—I’ll keep it safe. I already know what I want to do in the future.”
