Chapter 66
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
The injury on Ye Yao’s arm finally showed signs of improvement.
To avoid Zhang Qiufeng noticing, she had to secretly change her bandages each time.
Now that her body was feeling better, she remembered the sportswear she had ordered at the tailor shop a few days ago. The pickup date was yesterday.
“Mom, I’m heading out for a bit. Don’t wait for me for lunch.”
“Where are you going?”
Zhang Qiufeng asked, worried.
For the past two days, Ye Yao had spent most of her time sleeping, eating very little, and not even exercising.
That was unusual enough, and now she suddenly wanted to go out, so of course, Zhang Qiufeng had to ask.
“I had some clothes made by a tailor a few days ago. I’m going to pick them up now.”
Ye Yao told the truth. After all, once she brought the clothes back, her grandmother would see them anyway.
“You had a tailor make clothes? Why didn’t you let me sew them? What a waste of money.”
Zhang Qiufeng was surprised for a moment, then couldn’t help but complain.
That money would’ve been better spent on buying some eggs to help nourish her body.
Ye Yao just smiled. “It’s not a waste. I’m off now.”
“This child is getting harder and harder to control,” Zhang Qiufeng muttered, watching her walk away with a frown.

When Ye Yao arrived at the tailor shop, no one stopped her from entering this time.
“Excuse me, I’m here to pick up my clothes,” she said at the counter, handing over her order slip.
“You are Miss Ye?”
The clerk looked at the slip, then quickly lifted his head, giving her several glances, his face full of disbelief.
Ye Yao felt a little uneasy under his stare. “Yes, I am.”
“Miss Ye, please wait a moment.”
The way he addressed her so respectfully made Ye Yao a bit uncomfortable.
Not judging by appearances anymore?
Heh.
Since he told her to wait, she would wait.
She went to the waiting area and plopped down onto the couch. The three-seater sofa was instantly half-occupied by her.
Other customers who had wanted to sit looked at her with clear disdain.
It was almost the same reaction as the first time she had come in.
Ye Yao was already used to it and sat there calmly.
A moment later, there was movement at the staircase—not the clerk returning, but the tailor shop’s owner, Cai Qingyuan.
As soon as he saw Ye Yao’s back, his eyes lit up.
It was this girl.
“Miss Ye, you’re here!”
Ye Yao looked at him, then at his empty hands, raising an eyebrow.
Did they not finish making the clothes?
That couldn’t be. She had given very clear instructions.
“Boss, where are my clothes?”
“Ah, the clothes are upstairs. I’d like you to come up and get them with me,” Cai Qingyuan said with a beaming smile, his eyes even more enthusiastic than the clerk’s earlier.
Uh…
Ye Yao studied him. Clearly, this boss had something on his mind.
“Alright, I’ll go upstairs.”
One after the other, they ascended to the second floor.
The second floor appeared much larger than the first, likely because it lacked display racks and furniture, making it feel more spacious.
However, the sound of busy sewing machines was clear.
Several rooms had numbered signs on their doors, and one of the doors was open.
Ye Yao couldn’t help but glance inside.
Inside, a tailor was meticulously cutting fabric. Rulers, colorful spools of thread, scissors, sewing machines, and irons were all neatly arranged.
So this was what the workspace looked like.
“Miss Ye, please come in.”
Soon, Cai Qingyuan led Ye Yao to his office door…
