Ye Yao patted her now swollen belly, feeling guilty.
She had been controlling her food intake for a long time, but today, with her good mood and the delicious food, she had ended up eating to her heart’s content.
Looks like she’ll have to run home later.
She walked out of the restaurant and made her way toward the old man sitting by the roadside.
“Grandpa, have you eaten?”
The old man looked weathered and frail, his clothes so tattered it was hard to look at.
Hearing someone speak beside him seemed to startle him, and he broke into a violent cough.
Ye Yao quickly patted his back, not minding the dirt on him.
“Thank you, girl.”
The old man slowly recovered, but his breathing was still unstable.
“Grandpa, I have some buns and a bowl of soup here, all clean. If you don’t mind, you can take them and eat.”
She had asked the server to pack the soup and ordered the buns fresh.
The old man was deeply moved, wanting to stand up and thank her.
Ye Yao quickly urged him to sit back down and placed the bag of food into his lap.
“Thank you, thank you.”
The old man’s eyes were red as he expressed his gratitude, realizing that good-hearted people like her were rare these days.

Inside the restaurant, Huang Ying noticed Li Cheng had been staring out the window and followed his gaze.
However, all she saw was a shabby old man sitting there.
Li Cheng turned away and smiled slightly.
“Nothing. Have you all finished eating?”
Zheng Lu wiped his mouth and nodded, “I’m full. Let’s go.”
Huang Ying kept watching Li Cheng, feeling that something seemed off with him, though she couldn’t quite place it.

“Hey, I was wondering who it was. Guihua, you’ve been cooped up at home for a while now, huh?”
This afternoon, Wang Guihua had just stepped out of her house when she ran into a neighbor in the alley.
The sarcastic teasing made her face turn bright red in an instant.
She awkwardly smiled and waved at the neighbor as a greeting.
If it weren’t for the fact that her house had run out of salt, soy sauce, and toilet paper, she wouldn’t have even stepped outside.
But before she could make it to the little convenience store, she ran straight into Ye Yao, who had just returned.
Wang Guihua’s expression immediately turned “colorful”—from red to green, then purple, and finally to white. In the end, she gritted her teeth.
It was truly a case of fate crossing paths!
Ye Yao hadn’t expected such a “coincidence.” After all, Wang Guihua had been quite ruthless toward her, and it would definitely take at least ten days to half a month for her injuries to heal.
Looking at the days, it was almost about time.
However, she wasn’t interested in talking to her, so she simply turned her gaze away and walked past her.
“Ye Yao, stop right there!”
Wang Guihua shouted in anger. She had been holding this in for many days.
Ye Yao stopped and calmly said, “What’s the matter?”
“What’s the matter? You hurt me badly, and now you ask me what’s the matter?”
Wang Guihua’s face twisted in anger, her chest rising and falling violently.
She had lived in the courtyard for many years, with good relationships among neighbors, and her life had been prosperous. But everything had been completely ruined by this fat girl in just a few short days!
Ye Yao looked at the unreasonable Wang Guihua, her face showing clear impatience.
“Why did I hurt you? Why are you badly injured? Or do you want to settle it here and now? I don’t mind.”
She crossed her arms, her tone defiant.
Wang Guihua’s face twisted even more, but her words made her realize she couldn’t make a scene here…
