Chapter 89
Zhao Qingqing immediately felt guilty. The money…
She had taken it.
She didn’t expect her mom to discover it so quickly, and even more unexpectedly, she misunderstood that it was her dad who took it.
“Mom, stop making a scene. Let’s go inside and talk, don’t give others something to laugh at.”
Compared to her previous aggressive stance, Zhao Qingqing now seemed somewhat flustered and unsure.
“Why should I be ashamed? I wasn’t the one who did something despicable!”
Wang Guihua was relentless. Seeing the ferocious expression on her face, Zhao Qingqing had to swallow the words that were almost on the tip of her tongue. She no longer had the courage to say them.
If her mom found out that the money had been taken away and the plan failed, she would probably kill her.
At this moment, Zhao Jianshe shook her hand off. “Since we no longer have the most basic trust between us, there’s no need to continue living together. Let’s get a divorce!”
Wang Guihua’s head buzzed, and her blood pressure shot up immediately.
From the moment she discovered the money was gone, to the argument with him, it was all because of the frustration she felt. She just wanted to vent, but she didn’t expect him to say he wanted a divorce.
Zhao Qingqing panicked. How did things get so serious?
“Dad, don’t stoop to Mom’s level…”
“Fine, Zhao Jianshe, you finally spoke your mind. You think I can’t live without you? If you want a divorce, then fine, let’s get divorced!”
“This family is mine. You won’t take anything!”
Wang Guihua was certain he was just saying that out of anger. He wouldn’t actually divorce her.
But to her surprise, Zhao Jianshe agreed immediately.
“Fine, I don’t want anything. The Civil Affairs Bureau is already closed for today, but I’ll come back tomorrow morning. Bring the household register and marriage certificate, and we’ll go through the procedures!”
Wang Guihua was stunned, her heart shattered into pieces. Why was this not what she expected?
She still wanted to say something, but Zhao Jianshe turned and left the yard without looking back.
“Zhao Jianshe, you heartless bastard, you really want a divorce? I won’t let you get your way. I’m not leaving! I’d rather die than leave!”
Zhao Qingqing’s face turned ashen. Her dad said he wanted a divorce, but surely he wasn’t serious, right?
The neighbors standing at the door watched Wang Guihua go mad, sighing. No one expected things to escalate this far.

“Ye Yao, are you home? Where’s your mom?”
The woman stretched her neck and looked inside the house.
“My mom’s inside. Aunt, is there something you need?”
Ye Yao noticed the woman’s expression wasn’t quite right and immediately asked.
The woman quickly nodded and pulled her aside, lowering her voice.
“Just now, the Zhao family got into a fight…”
Ye Yao frowned upon hearing this.
Wang Guihua was really something. Their family lost money, and now she was trying to pin the blame on her and her mother!
“Ye Yao, I came over to give you a heads-up. These next couple of days, don’t let your mom go out. Wang Guihua is about to go crazy, and if she runs into your mom, who knows what kind of trouble she’ll cause.”
“Thank you, Aunt, I understand.”
Ye Yao appreciated the woman’s kind reminder and thanked her.
She wasn’t afraid of Wang Guihua, but the aunt was right in saying that the woman would definitely bully her mom.
She’d have to be more cautious over the next few days, whether it was overt or covert.
Once she made enough money, she’d buy a big house far away and take her mom to live in a peaceful place, far from this “troublesome spot.”
