“Whether to call the police is my family’s business. It’s not for you, an outsider, to dictate!”
Zhao Qingqing was flustered, even wondering if Ye Yao had discovered something.
Ye Yao clicked her tongue and wore a look of disdain. “If you can accuse our family so casually, why can’t I call the police? What are you so nervous about?
Or is it that since Zhao Uncle didn’t take the money, and I haven’t heard of any thieves in your house, the truth seems pretty clear, doesn’t it?”
At first, she didn’t want to get involved in this matter, but since Zhao Qingqing tried to place the “blame” on her and her mother, she couldn’t hold back anymore.
After thinking it through and seeing how guilty Zhao Qingqing looked, it seemed she had figured it out.
Zhao Qingqing paused, suddenly regretting having provoked this “fatty.”
“You… you’re talking nonsense.”
Ye Yao’s smile grew brighter, and she was certain.
“I really feel sorry for Zhao Uncle. It’s his own daughter who stole the money, but he’s the one who’s being blamed.
This is really a case of ‘harming the father’!”
Pfft!
Not far away, Zheng Lu, who had been watching the drama unfold, burst out laughing.
He nudged Li Cheng beside him.
“So this is how the term ‘harming the father’ is used? Your fiancée is impressive, her IQ is on point, and she’s pretty tough too.”
He hadn’t expected such a dramatic confrontation so early in the morning.
Li Cheng remained expressionless. He knew Ye Yao wasn’t as simple as she appeared on the surface. The earlier incident with Li Yukun had already proven that Zhao Qingqing wasn’t her “match.”
“Ye Yao means that the money was taken by Zhao Qingqing?”
“I had a bad feeling about this yesterday. If it had really been Zhao Jianshe, it would just be family money, and a quick word to Wang Guihua would have settled it. How could it escalate like that?”
“Yeah, Zhao’s family only has three members. If the money wasn’t taken by Wang Guihua, and Zhao Jianshe hasn’t been in any trouble lately, then it must be Zhao Qingqing, right?”
“Zhao Qingqing was right there when her parents were about to divorce over that money, and she didn’t even admit it…”
Zhao Qingqing heard the discussions around her and felt deeply embarrassed.
“It wasn’t me! Ye Yao, stop slandering me!”
“How am I slandering you? Are you denying that you took the money and gave it to that little gigolo? And in the end, your dad’s the one who’s taking the blame, and you’ve managed to smear us mother and daughter too?
You really are something, killing two birds with one stone. If your dad and mom knew the truth, do you think they’d let you off the hook?”
Ye Yao wouldn’t let up, her expression bold and mocking.
“But I bet you won’t admit it. Actually, it’s better for them to divorce. If I were your dad, I would have divorced you a hundred times already with a daughter like you and a woman like your mom.
The sooner they get out of it, the better.
You’re always calling me the one with a father but no mother, right? Well, you can send that line right back to yourself!”
She kept talking non-stop, flowing smoothly without a single pause, delivering her speech from start to finish.
Zhao Qingqing’s face turned ashen, her breathing rapid, and for the first time, she was rendered speechless.
And the person who had done this to her was someone she completely looked down upon—this “fatty”!
It felt like she had something stuck in her chest, unable to go up or down, and she was about to lose her mind.
Ye Yao stretched lazily and smiled smugly.
This person was asking for trouble, coming to her for a fight.
“Please move aside, good dogs don’t block the road.”
