Chapter 8: Touring with Beauties
Rein followed Jonas back to the room where he had been reprimanded and found Fude still sitting at the main seat with a stern expression.
“Dad, did you want to see me?”
Fude took a sip of his coffee and nodded, saying, “Hmm, I heard that you and that Damon from the Mick family are going to duel?”
Rein sat in the chair next to him looking puzzled and said, “It’s just a duel, I haven’t done anything wrong, so why are you even concerned?”
Fude finished his coffee and said, “When did I say you got into trouble? I’m just confirming things.”
Rein stretched and asked, “Dad, you’re actually taking an interest in young people’s affairs now?”
Fude wore a wry expression and said, “A while ago, they discovered a firestone vein between our House Gray territory and the Mick family’s territory, but they never clarified how to split it with the Micks.”
When I went to discuss it with Brent Mick today, I happened to hear about your duel with Damon, so Brent proposed deciding the ore division based on the result of your duel.
“If you win, it’s 60 to 40 in our favor; if you lose, it’s 40 to 60.”
“So I’m asking what your chances are, and if they’re high, I’ll let Brent know tonight.”
Rein raised an eyebrow and paused for a long moment before saying, “I originally had a 90% chance, but now that you mention it, I’m not so sure.”
“Although honor duels don’t allow using family power and you must use equipment from the academy, who knows if the Mick family might pull other tricks?”
Fude nodded in agreement.
“That’s a good point. Damon Mick has been a Rank 1 intermediate warrior for a while, and tonight the Mick family will surely have him promoted to a Rank 1 advanced warrior.”
But then he frowned with worry.
“If you were a warrior or knight cultivating Battle Qi, it wouldn’t be impossible for you to be promoted to Rank 1 intermediate tonight, but as a mage, there’s really not much I can do.”
“Still, do your best, and if you lose, lose with the spirit of a man. In any case, I haven’t agreed to anything with Brent.”
Hearing his father declare he was certain to lose, Rein pursed his lips.
“And what if I win?”
Fude looked at Rein in surprise and said, “Win?”
Since Rein had come of age at 16 and started studying magic, he was now 18.
He hadn’t made a move in two years, so Fude didn’t know his true combat power.
“If you win with glory and boost House Gray’s prestige, I’ll grant you a reasonable request; if you win by trickery, I’ll at most give you a bit of extra pocket money.”
“Fine, as you said, if I win, you’ll go to Mother and ask her to send Eve to me.” (He may be treating them like objects, but they will all love and respect eachother later)
Upon hearing that, Fude was left speechless.
He had expected the boy to ask for some privileges from the knights or warriors, not to demand a woman.
Fude decided, “Very well. If you win, the house maids are yours with their consent, but remember to win honorably and openly; the Lion family does not allow winning like a rat.”
“Okay, but I need the magic-enhancing artifacts from the warehouse.”
“How many?”
“As many as possible.”
Fude looked at Rein in puzzlement and asked, “You want to forcibly advance your rank?”
Rein shook his head and said, “I have other uses for them.”
Fude saw that Rein wasn’t going to elaborate and didn’t press him; after all, everyone had secrets.
“All right, but I can’t give you everything.”
“Since you’re Rank 1, I can give you at most half of the Rank 1 and Rank 2 artifacts; the advanced magic artifacts the family needs to keep to curry favor with mages, so I can’t give you those.”
“Okay.”
Rein left the room, and the artifacts would be delivered to his quarters shortly.
Inside the room, Fude and Jonas conversed.
“I wonder why that kid is so confident. Does he really have some trump card?”
Fude lit a cigar and gestured to Jonas to ask if he wanted one.
Jonas shook his head.
Jonas said, “I haven’t had much contact with mages, but just now, comparing myself as a Rank 1 assassin attendant to Young Master Rein, I seemed to sense a…” He paused, pondering how to describe it.
Fude took a satisfying puff of his Mong cigar and asked.
“What did you sense?”
“An abyss!”
“A bottomless abyss.”
Fude froze as the cigar in his hand continued to burn…
…
Rein returned to his room, looked at the pair of maid shoes by the bedside, and smiled at the lump under the blankets on the bed.
“Emily?”
Emily said, “Hm?” as a little head with blue-and-white hair suddenly poked through the gap in the blankets like a tiny mushroom.
Emily looked at Rein and blushed slightly, saying, “Young Master…”
Looking at the delicate beauty, Rein removed his shoes, climbed into bed, and stared at Emily half-concealed under the blankets.
Rein felt a warmth in his nose.
Emily’s figure was absolutely perfect, especially her legs, which seemed sculpted from white jade, with smooth lines that condensed essence and gave off a subtle glow.
Rein thought he could enjoy those legs for a lifetime and suddenly lunged forward.
Immediately, the room overflowed with erotic springtime ambience, and a series of languorous sounds filled the air.
Even the servant who had come midway to deliver the artifacts to Rein was entirely ignored.
In the evening, Rein carried the exhausted Emily back to the room where Cecily and the other six maids were and instructed the other personal maids to clean the place.
Cecily and the other six began cleaning Rein’s room.
Seeing the disarray in the room, they all felt a flush of heat.
Then Rein told the servant to bring the artifacts to this room.
Only Emily, still asleep, and Rein, seated on a rug, remained in the room.
The magic crystal lamp emitted a soft milky light and still carried Cecily’s lingering maiden scent.
Outwardly, Rein placed the artifacts before him into the Magic Ring.
In reality, the Ancient Tome was absorbing them one by one.
After it had absorbed all 213 artifacts, the Ancient Tome’s source energy soared to an astonishing 8428.
When the Ancient Tome finished absorbing, Rein stood and stretched his legs, which had gone numb from sitting cross-legged on the floor.
Seeing Emily’s beautiful sleeping face, Rein removed his shoes, got into bed, and gently lifted the blankets before crawling under them.
Wrapped in the warm blankets with the soft Emily in his arms, he sank his mind into the spiritual realm and reappeared before the Ancient Tome.
He instructed the Ancient Tome to first list all the spells he could currently exchange for, then selected them one by one.
Rein flipped through the Ancient Tome page by page until past midnight before his consciousness withdrew.
Seeing Emily asleep beside him and Cecily, who had somehow slipped under the covers, Rein held them both as he drifted into a deep sleep.
The next morning, when Rein woke up, the beauties were already dressed and ready.
Rein looked at Cecily’s slightly disheveled hair, got up, and planted a fierce kiss on her.
Cecily offered only token resistance for a few moments before complying with Rein.
Of course, Rein didn’t leave Emily out, and the three of them cuddled for a while before getting out of bed to wash up.
Rein climbed into the carriage with Emily and Cecily, preparing to head to the academy.
Having the spells and magical secret techniques he exchanged for in the Ancient Tome the previous night made Rein feel very confident.
