Chapter 4: First Encounter with Xue Pinggui

The next day, the convoy returned in a grand procession.

Wang Baochuan noticed that Wei Bao, who had been busy yesterday, was nowhere to be seen this morning.

She pretended to be concerned and went to her parents and asked, “Mother, we’re about to return, why isn’t General Wei here?”

Mrs. Wang smiled knowingly, “What’s this?  My daughter knows how to care for others now?”

“Mother, what are you talking about?” Wang Baochuan pretended to be shy.  She saw her father looking around too, naturally he couldn’t see Wei Bao.

Halfway through the journey, a strange fragrance suddenly came from inside the carriage.  Xiaolian fainted in the carriage with a thud.

Wang Baochuan held her breath and pretended to faint on the ground.

A moment later.

A group of men in black rushed out, the convoy was thrown into chaos.  Wang Baochuan felt herself being carried on someone’s shoulder, the person had a black mole on the back of their neck, it was undoubtedly Wei Bao!

They passed through a dense forest, Wei Bao put her down, she clutched the dagger in her sleeve.

“Wang Baochuan, Wang Baochuan, why don’t you just marry me obediently!” He said, reaching out to unbutton her clothes.

Wang Baochuan on the ground, her skin was white and delicate, her face was like a piece of jade, her eyebrows and eyes were like a painting, like a fairy from a portrait of a lady.

Her figure was graceful, her waist was slender, her curves were alluring and made people drool.

Wei Bao had only wanted to stage a heroic rescue, but when he saw her, the desire that had been suppressed in his heart suddenly burst forth, making him unable to control himself.

Just as he was about to pounce on her, Wang Baochuan suddenly opened her eyes, raised her leg and kicked him hard in the crotch.  At the same time, she raised her hand and drew her dagger, taking advantage of Wei Bao’s unpreparedness, she slashed at his chest.

Wei Bao screamed and dodged, but she was too fast and still managed to cut him.

“You’re asking for death!”

“You scoundrel, how dare you molest me!” Wang Baochuan held the dagger tightly, pretending not to recognize him.

Wei Bao’s crotch was in excruciating pain, he couldn’t even stand straight.

But at this point, if he didn’t ruin Wang Baochuan, wouldn’t it be a waste of such a good opportunity?

Seeing that he was still not giving up, Wang Baochuan ran away.

He chased after her desperately, Wang Baochuan looked back and vaguely saw a familiar figure, it was Xue Pinggui passing by!

She changed direction and continued running, she didn’t want to call for help at all!

“Stop!” Wei Bao shouted in a strained voice, he was afraid that Wang Baochuan would recognize his voice.

Wang Baochuan ran for a long time and gradually became exhausted.  Just as she was about to expose Wei Bao’s identity, a young man in brocade clothes, as if he had heard the commotion, came galloping on horseback.

He held a sword in his hand, leaped forward, and protected Wang Baochuan behind him.

“If you don’t want to die, get out of here!”

Wei Bao saw that this man was skilled in martial arts, and fled in terror.

Wang Baochuan was out of breath, she adjusted her sleeves and thanked the knight, “Thank you, brave warrior, for saving me.”

Brave warrior? The man frowned at her and put away his sword.

“It’s getting late, how could you, a weak woman, be in the wild?”

“I… I met a villain.” Wang Baochuan stared at him warily, wouldn’t this man, like Xue Pinggui, see that it was getting late and take her to a cave to spend the night?

“What are you standing there for, where is your home, I’ll have someone send you back.”

Someone? Wang Baochuan looked back and only then noticed that two attendants were standing not far away, they were as quiet as tree stumps, so she hadn’t noticed them.

“Thank you for your kindness, brave warrior, just put me on the horse, I can go back myself.”  Her half-baked riding skills were taught by Xue Pinggui, but she was timid and had never dared to ride on her own after learning a few times.

Right now, she didn’t want to be alone with a strange man, it was better to catch up with the convoy as soon as possible.

The man heard this and looked at his two attendants.

The attendants said respectfully, “Master, it’s not proper for a man and a woman to be alone together, let us help the lady onto the horse!”
