Chapter 3: Guan Yan’s Weibo
Tang Qu became somewhat interested in this Guan Yan and pulled up the search interface again.
He typed in the two characters “Guan Yan” and clicked search.
Tang Qu was instantly blinded by the dazzling golden interface that popped up.
Seeing this, Tang Qu knew that Guan Yan was definitely extraordinary among the extraordinary.
Clicking on Guan Yan’s profile, the top section contained some basic information: male, 27 years old, 189cm tall, unmarried.
Tang Qu couldn’t help but laugh at this introduction—it felt like a marriage agency assessing physical conditions.
Composing himself, he continued reading. It took Tang Qu a long time to finish going through Guan Yan’s profile.
He finally understood the status this man held in the current entertainment industry.
At the age of 21, Guan Yan swept through major domestic film festivals with his debut film “Silence,” becoming the youngest Movie Emperor in the country and receiving a nomination for Best Actor at an international film festival. That same year, his second film “Redemption” swept through numerous awards again, and he successfully won the Oscar for Best Actor with it.
By this point, Tang Qu was already gasping in awe—this man was truly ruthless.
However, these were just the first steps in Guan Yan’s domination of the entertainment industry. After those two remarkable works, Guan Yan released at least two films every year, maintaining an incredibly high output and winning countless awards.
Beyond film, Guan Yan’s fashion resources were also explosive, gracing the covers of major fashion magazines, and even numerous fashion festivals felt honored by his presence.
Tang Qu couldn’t help but click his tongue in amazement. Guan Yan surpassed him in every way.
Tang Qu didn’t pay much attention to the rest.
How did a small fry like Tang Qu get involved with Guan Yan?
Just as Tang Qu was about to search further, his phone on the coffee table rang. The sudden ringtone made Tang Qu pause for a moment before realizing it was his own phone.
He picked it up and glanced at the caller ID: “Brother Zhang.” His memory quickly recalled that this was Tang Qu’s manager.
This Brother Zhang had been quite good to Tang Qu. After Tang Qu signed with the company, Brother Zhang didn’t rush to assign him work but instead let him focus on his studies while honing his acting skills. If it weren’t for the short film for his final project, Tang Qu might have forgotten he had even signed with a management company.
“Brother Zhang?”
“Xiao Qu, are you doing okay?”
The voice on the other end was a deep, masculine tone. Tang Qu calmly replied, “Mm.”
“Xiao Qu, don’t pay too much attention to Movie Emperor Guan’s Weibo. Many people try to ride on his popularity, and it’ll blow over in a couple of days. The company has already stepped in to mediate the situation. Just focus on your studies for now. When your acting skills mature a bit more, I’ll arrange some work for you.”
“Movie Emperor Guan’s Weibo?”
Brother Zhang sounded surprised, “You didn’t know?”
Tang Qu was puzzled—he hadn’t had the chance to catch up on the latest news yet.
Brother Zhang continued, “Then don’t worry about it. Just focus on your studies. This weekend, I’ll take you to meet a performance coach to help polish your acting.”
With that, Brother Zhang hung up.
If it were anyone else, they might have thought Brother Zhang was a scammer—after all, why sign someone and not assign them work? But Tang Qu felt that such a person was the safest. Compared to those who mindlessly exhaust their talent and popularity, someone with a long-term vision could last longer in the entertainment industry.
However, what Tang Qu was more concerned about was Guan Yan’s Weibo.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I opened Weibo. Ignoring the chaotic messages, I searched for Guan Yan.
At the top was Guan Yan’s trending post: “The path is forged by walking steadily; shortcuts will only earn you disdain.”
