“Rebirth: The Full-Level Idol is a Little Sweet” Chapter 4

Chapter 4: You Are My Light

No one understood Guan Yan’s influence better than Tang Qu, who had once been an award-winning actor.

The impact of Guan Yan’s Weibo post was immeasurable, and Tang Qu finally realized what had been the final straw that broke the original owner of this body.

However, the reality was even more severe than Tang Qu had imagined.

When Tang Qu searched for Guan Yan, he stumbled upon a folder named “Guan Yan” in his laptop.

A sense of foreboding washed over him. After a moment of hesitation, Tang Qu clicked on the folder and was shocked by its contents.

It was filled with photos of Guan Yan. The progress bar made Tang Qu’s heart race. After opening a few, he quickly closed them and scrolled to the end, where he found a document.

After some thought, Tang Qu decided to open it.

The document wasn’t lengthy; it contained just a few words: “You are my light!”

Now Tang Qu understood why the original owner had been driven to despair. He had seen Guan Yan as his guiding light, and when he thought he could get closer to that light, Guan Yan had warned him not to harbor any ulterior motives, even labeling him as someone trying to ride on his fame. Such a blow would be unbearable for anyone, let alone someone like Tang Qu, who had always lacked love.

When a person has no attachments and their last hope is shattered, all that remains is despair.

Tang Qu closed the document and the folder named after Guan Yan. These were the memories of the original owner, and he had no right to touch them.

Tang Qu stood up and walked over to the TV, where he saw a stack of DVDs—exactly 14 of them. Without even picking them up, Tang Qu knew whose they were: Guan Yan’s movies.

Looking at those DVDs, it was clear why Tang Qu’s acting bore such a resemblance to Guan Yan’s. As a sophomore in college, Guan Yan had, in a way, been his acting mentor.

Because he admired you, he molded himself in your image.

Tang Qu didn’t fully understand this sentiment, but he had seen similar messages from his fans.

Whenever he posted on Weibo, many people would leave comments. He had seen fans say that they had regained their confidence because of him, or that they had been accepted into prestigious schools, or that they had tried new things because of him.

Although he didn’t feel he had that much influence, he couldn’t help but feel happy for those fans whenever he read such comments.

The meaning of being a fan is to become a better version of yourself on the journey of following your idol.

But the original owner hadn’t had the chance to shine before his idol personally crushed him.

Although Guan Yan was exceptional, Tang Qu now felt no affection for him. Knowing the extent of his influence, Guan Yan had made such a statement on Weibo without fully understanding the situation, effectively destroying a young life. And the original owner had indeed paid the price.

While Tang Qu was lost in thought, his phone rang again. He answered instinctively, “Hello?”

“Tang Qu, get out of the entertainment industry! Die! Stop trying to ride on Yan Yan’s fame!”

After being cursed at, Tang Qu hung up the phone expressionlessly. Where did this mad dog come from?

But shortly after hanging up, the phone rang again. Tang Qu glanced at the screen—no caller ID.

He answered the phone and immediately said, “Not dead, still alive, and doing just fine!” Then, without giving the other person a chance to speak, he hung up. He couldn’t stand these obsessive fans; they could get their hands on anything.

On the other end of the line, a man with a stern expression stared at the disconnected phone, momentarily stunned.

He tried calling again, only to hear: “Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently switched off.”
