Chapter 20
Her face was flushed, her eyes were sparkling, her gaze was blurry, and her lips were moist. She was obviously drunk.
Meng Zeyan retracted his gaze and turned to look at his mother.
Xing Cui thought she wanted to drink to drown her sorrows, so she nodded and said, “Pour her a glass.”
Who knows what’s going on in this girl’s mind. Just get drunk!
Isn’t there a saying that goes “drink to drown your sorrows”?
Meng Zeyan raised his hand and poured another glass for Tang Huan.
Meng Qinghe finished the wine in his hand and hurriedly moved the glass over.
Meng Zeyan took back the bottle, “Dad, just forget it.”
Meng Qinghe glared at him angrily, but after meeting Xing Cui’s warning look, he reluctantly put down his wine glass.
He just thought it was a good thing, but now, seeing Meng Zeyan pouring cup after cup of his treasured drink to Tang Huan, Meng Qinghe felt only heartache.
“You sent me this wine three years ago!”
Meng Zeyan coaxed Old Meng: “I’ll buy it for you later.”
“I’ll buy one for you too.” Tang Huan drank the wine in the glass and said to Lao Meng with a smile.
She felt a little dizzy now, but she wasn’t feeling uncomfortable. She didn’t know why she was in a very good mood all of a sudden.
After saying that, Tang Huan raised the glass towards Meng Zeyan again, tilted his head and looked at him with a smile, “Brother, I want to drink more!”
Meng Zeyan felt as if his heart was hit hard by an invisible thing, and he couldn’t explain it.
He looked at her for a few seconds, pushed the bottle of wine in his hand to Xing Cui, stood up, left the table, and walked out of the courtyard gate.
Tang Huan looked at him in confusion as he left. He turned the glass around and said softly to Xing Cui, “Mom, I want to drink more~”
“Mom will pour it for you.” Xing Cui picked up the bottle and poured wine for Tang Huan. After pouring the wine, she turned around and looked outside the door.
Tang Huan drank all the remaining half bottle of wine in the bottle. She became more and more drunk. She kept feeling that her mother-in-law was shaking. She looked down and saw that the table was shaking too.
With his hands pressing down on the table, Tang Huan looked at it angrily, “Don’t move! The plate is about to fall!”
Meng Qinghe got up to clean up the dishes, while Xing Cui sat in the yard with the drunk Tang Huan.
“Xiao Huan, do you want to vomit?”
Tang Huan shook her head. She didn’t want to vomit, she just felt dizzy.
Xing Cui dragged the stool to another place, moved to Tang Huan’s side, raised her arm to hold her head against her shoulder, “Xiao Huan, lean on mom and rest for a while.”
Tang Huan was very conscious. She closed her eyes and leaned on her mother-in-law’s shoulder. Finally, nothing was shaking in front of her eyes.
“Mom, I love you so much! You and dad are so good to me, and brother is also a good person. I never thought that I would have a parent who loves me.” With the right emotions and the help of alcohol, Tang Huan couldn’t control his sadness, “Woo~~, I don’t want to leave, I still want to make money to honor you in the future, and I will take care of you in your old age~.”
It was the first time Xing Cui heard Tang Huan speak his true feelings. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t moved. She couldn’t help but shed tears and wiped them away with her hands. “Silly girl, why are you going to support us when we are old? You are still young and you will get married in the future.”
“I won’t get married.” Tang Huan leaned on her shoulder and shook his head. He shook it so hard that he almost fell down, but Xing Cui quickly caught him.
She thought about going to college, finding a job, buying a house, and making money. The only thing I haven’t thought about is getting married.
She can get along with people for a short period of time, even if she has to get along with all kinds of people during the day, at least at night she wants to lie alone in her own bed.
She is unwilling to share her life with another person, nor does she want to invade the other person’s life, and even more unwilling to change herself.
Xing Cui pinched her little face helplessly, “Xiao Huan, are you scared because of Ze Yu? Don’t be afraid, I will want to marry you when I meet someone I like again.”
Tang Huan’s tongue was a little out of control, and she tried hard to explain: “No… I’m not afraid, I won’t… marry.”
Xing Cui sighed silently, “Are you sleepy? Mom will take you back to your room to sleep.”
Tang Huan was already beginning to feel sleepy, and could only utter a nasal “hmm”.
Xing Cui helped her stand up. The little girl had a good appetite, so why didn’t she gain weight?
She still had some flesh when she first got married, but now she is so thin that she can lift it with a little effort.
She helped the person back into the room and laid her down on the bed. Before leaving, Xing Cui did not forget to use a pillow to block the edge of the bed for her, fearing that Tang Huan would fall in the middle of the night.
Come out of Tang Huan’s room and help her lock the door.
Xing Cui looked at the main room. There was no light in the room and Meng Zeyan had not returned yet.
After thinking about it, she didn’t go back to the main house, but walked towards the front door.
There was no one outside the yard and the alley was pitch black. I have walked this road for so many years that I have become accustomed to walking in the dark.
Xing Cui walked out along the alley and met Meng Zeyan who was smoking at the entrance of the alley.
Small flames flickered in the darkness, one after another.
After serving in the army for so many years, he still has some vigilance. Before Xing Cui even got close, Meng Zeyan knew she was coming.
“If you have anything bothering you, tell mom about it.” It is said that no one knows a child better than his mother, but Xing Cui felt that she did not know her eldest son well enough.
Meng Zeyan put out his cigarette and said, “Nothing, I’m just thinking about how to deal with something.”
Xing Cui pulled his arm and walked out, “Come take a walk with mom, you ate a little too much for dinner.”
Meng Zeyan didn’t say anything and followed his mother. He didn’t lie and was indeed thinking about how to deal with Li Feng just now.
But that wasn’t the only thing he was thinking about.
“There are many things that I don’t understand and can’t help with.” Xing Cui didn’t like to nag Meng Zeyan, because he rarely needed her advice or guidance. She used to nag the most at the second child, Meng Zeyu. “But there are some things that I can help with, such as which girl do you like? Or if you don’t know how to woo a girl.”
Meng Zeyan smiled, “Mom, ask Aunt Song if she needs help, and go help her!”
Aunt Song is a famous matchmaker in this area, and she is an expert at matchmaking and matchmaking.
Even though she was kind enough to give advice, there were still people who didn’t appreciate it. Xing Cui pinched Meng Zeyan’s arm angrily and said, “You are just too thoughtful. You keep everything in your heart.”
Meng Zeyan smiled and moved to the side to avoid Comrade Xing Cui’s pinch, and said nothing more.
The two of them strolled around, and Xing Cui stopped talking about trivial things and talked to him about how long it would take him to come back after he took up his post in the army.
In theory, Meng Zeyan could come back every day, and the army would provide him with a car and guards, but the military district was a bit far from his home, and it took more than two hours to drive there.
It’s a bit of a waste of time to go back and forth every day, so Meng Zeyan plans to come back once a week or half a month.
Xing Cui had no objection. Compared to not seeing him once every few years, a week or half a month was already very good.
The two of them chatted and quickly walked around.
Meng Zeyan walked into the main room without looking around. Xing Cui glanced at Tang Huan’s room a few times, wondering if Xiao Huan was feeling uncomfortable.
Uncomfortable!
My head feels so heavy!
This was Tang Huan’s first feeling after waking up. She covered her head and thought for a long time in bed. She had been drinking!
It tastes good, but it makes me feel uncomfortable after drinking it.
I touched the watch next to the pillow, raised it and saw it was ten-thirty-five!
I didn’t go to class yesterday. I was planning to go today…
It took a long time for Tang Huan to get up from the bed. Apart from the heaviness of his hair, he didn’t feel any other discomfort.
