Chapter 8
After school, Feng Sisi asked Tang Huan if he wanted to go home together, and they could take the bus on the way home.
Tang Huan refused. She followed the teacher directly to the classroom without paying tuition or buying meal tickets.
And Meng Zeyan is still in the principal’s office.
“I’ll take you to the teacher where you have to pay tuition first, otherwise you won’t be able to find it!” Feng Sisi felt very sorry that they couldn’t go home together. When she heard that she was going to pay tuition, she kindly offered to take her there.
“Okay, thank you, Feng Sisi.”
Tang Huan’s memories of school were not particularly good. The first time he faced someone’s enthusiasm and kindness, he didn’t know how to repay them and could only thank them over and over again.
Feng Sisi slung her schoolbag across her body, grabbed Tang Huan’s hand and walked out, “Why call me Feng Sisi? Call me Sisi. From now on, we’ll be good sisters in the same trench!”
Tang Huan’s wrist was stiff and his steps were unnatural, but he did not pull his wrist back.
She really liked Feng Sisi’s personality, which was something she could never do.
She said good sister, Tang Huan admitted that she was very moved and didn’t want to refuse, “Okay!”
In her previous life, she had no relatives or friends except her brother, and the person she knew the most was a doctor.
The original body did have a few friends, but hadn’t been in touch with them for a long time.
The teacher who collected tuition fees had not left yet, so Feng Sisi took Tang Huan over and blocked the teacher in the office. This teacher was not only responsible for collecting tuition fees, but also for exchanging meal tickets.
The bus was about to be missed, so Feng Sisi told the teacher that Tang Huan had to pay tuition and then jogged out.
The teacher who collected the tuition was named Zhao. She was an older female teacher, very kind. She smiled and asked Tang Huan, “Student, what’s your name? Which class are you from? Are you in the first or second year of high school?”
There are often children in school who are in arrears with their tuition fees, and sometimes the tuition fees are not fully collected until the end of the semester.
“Teacher, my name is Tang Huan, Class 2, Grade 2.” As long as he wasn’t facing a group of people suddenly, or someone who was too difficult to get along with, Tang Huan could handle it. “Excuse me, how much is the tuition?”
The name sounded familiar. Teacher Zhao took out the tuition receipt book and flipped through it. He actually saw a student named Tang Huan, who was also in Class 2, Grade 2, and whose tuition was paid in the afternoon.
“Student Tang Huan, did you come to pay your tuition this afternoon? Or is there another student in your class also named Tang Huan?”
The tuition fee paid in the afternoon was also called Tang Huan? It seems unlikely that there would be anyone else besides her.
Tang Huan suspected that it was Meng Zeyan who paid her tuition, and asked embarrassedly: “Teacher, was it a tall man wearing a black short-sleeved shirt who paid it?”
“Yes! You can tell from his figure that he is a soldier, and he is very handsome!” The male comrade left a deep impression on her. Teacher Zhao remembered him very clearly. No matter what age group they were in, they could not help but take a few more glances at good-looking male comrades. “Not only did he pay your tuition, he also exchanged it for a five-dollar meal ticket.”
It seems that it is really Meng Zeyan. Tang Huan feels indescribably heavy in her heart. She gets along well with her parents-in-law, but she can’t help but want to hide when facing Meng Zeyan.
It’s not that Meng Zeyan is a bad person. On the contrary, he seems to be quite nice. He gave her red envelopes, helped her find schools, and sent her to school…
Tang Huan couldn’t tell why she avoided him for no reason. Perhaps it was the military majesty that made her afraid to approach him.
“Teacher, how much tuition did he pay?” Tang Huan had some money on him and planned to return it to Meng Zeyan later.
She can’t rely on the Meng family for everything, and the Meng family doesn’t owe her anything. When she makes money in the future, she will buy a house and move out to live on her own.
“I paid seven dollars for tuition and got a five-dollar meal ticket in exchange.” Exchanging five dollars for a meal ticket at one time is considered a big deal.
“Okay, thank you teacher, I’ll leave first.” Tang Huan bowed slightly to Teacher Zhao, turned around and walked out of the office.
Seven dollars plus five dollars is twelve dollars in total. Tang Huan only had ten dollars on him, so he had to return the money to him.
Meng Zeyan was still in the principal’s office, reading a book in pure English.
Principal Xu thought he was just pretending at first, but later he couldn’t stand it anymore and left first.
The bell rang for the end of get out of class. Meng Zeyan closed the book, stood up and put it back on the bookshelf. The door of the office was not closed, and he could just see outside the door when he stood next to the bookshelf.
Many students were walking or running towards the school gate. As time passed, Meng Zeyan began to wonder what the probability was that Tang Huan had forgotten that he was still waiting for her.
There are not many students in the school. After a while of hustle and bustle, fewer and fewer people walk out of the school gate.
Meng Zeyan walked out of the office and prepared to go to the classroom to look for someone. Comrade Xing Cui told him that he must bring the person back the same way he brought him out.
Meng Zeyan stopped walking not long after. A man was walking towards him with his head down. He was thin and small, kicking a small stone with his feet.
The small stone was kicked to this side and then to that side. Tang Huan lowered his head and watched the stone rolling, thinking about how to ask Meng Zeyan to return his money.
It’s okay for her parents-in-law, but how could she have the nerve to spend Meng Zeyan’s money.
Seeing that she didn’t notice that he was right opposite her, Meng Zeyan coughed lightly.
Tang Huan looked up in surprise, only to see Meng Zeyan standing just a few steps away. He didn’t know what to say for a moment.
“Let’s go home.” Meng Zeyan spoke first, and then asked her with a smile: “How was the class? Are you used to it?”
Tang Huan nodded, his body unconsciously tensed, and he stood very straight, “Very good.”
Seeing her about to stand in military posture to make a report, Meng Zeyan turned around with a smile.
He turned around and walked ahead, with Tang Huan following two steps behind him. As for the stone, it had been forgotten.
The two walked out of the school gate one after the other. There was a bus parked at the bus stop not far away and some people were getting on the bus.
Meng Zeyan estimated the distance. He could run to the bus stop before the bus started, so he could stop the driver and wait for Tang Huan behind him.
The person in front of him started running at an extremely fast speed. In the blink of an eye, Tang Huan saw Meng Zeyan running to the bus stop…
She quickly accelerated, fearing that the bus would drive away.
The sandals on my feet rub my feet, especially when I run.
Tang Huan had hardly walked in her previous life because she was in a wheelchair. She was not good at running and it seemed like she was walking the wrong way!
No matter how she ran, when she arrived at the bus stop, the bus had not left and the door was still open.
Meng Zeyan stood a little inside the car door waiting for her. As for her running just now, he saw it clearly in the rearview mirror beside the car.
Tang Huan got on the bus. This time he had experience, so he held the handrail next to him with one hand and used the other hand to pay for the ticket.
There were no empty seats in the car and many people were standing in the aisle, so Meng Zeyan did not move and stood in the same place.
“I’ve bought the ticket.”
Hearing this, Tang Huan looked up at him. It was he who bought the ticket when he came here.
Meng Zeyan was looking at her with a smile. Tang Huan had seen his smile before, but this was the first time she felt that his smile looked so real.
The previous one might have been a polite smile, but this time it should be from the heart.
Did catching up with the bus make him so happy?
