Reborn as the General’s True Daughter! The Prime Minister Husband’s Boundless Affection Chapter 34

Chapter 34: The Treasure Girl, Mu Rong Shu!

Wen Jing thought to himself, “I can live without this nephew if he wants to marry the girl I like. He’ll have to compete with me for her.”

Liu Ru Yan smirked and teased, “Little brat, by the time you grow up, it’ll be too late. Let your Third Uncle marry her first!”

Little Wen Yu noticed that his Second Uncle looked terrified, Liu Ru Yan had a face full of regret, and his Third Uncle was glaring at him. He was confused, everything had been fine a moment ago, but now it had suddenly changed. Adults were so complicated! He quickly decided he needed to go find his beautiful sister.

Excited, Little Wen Yu ran ahead, while the three adults followed behind, each lost in their own thoughts. Liu Ru Yan, more interested in gossip, wasn’t far behind, and soon they arrived at Gui Ning Courtyard.

As soon as Little Wen Yu saw Mu Rong Shu, he ran over. “Beautiful sister, Yu Er is here to help!”

Hearing his voice, everyone looked up and saw the excited little boy running towards them, followed by Wen Jing, Liu Ru Yan, and Wen Ye.

“Yu Er, slow down, don’t trip!” Mu Rong Shu quickly got up to catch the little boy and reminded him to be careful.

“I won’t fall, beautiful sister! I run fast and steady. What are you all doing? It looks so lively!” Little Wen Yu, seeing everyone busy, asked curiously.

“We’re getting lunch ready. Will you help too, Yu Er?” Mu Rong Shu pinched his cheek affectionately, asking for his help.

“I love helping sister! But make sure to give Second Uncle and Third Uncle some work too!” Little Wen Yu was worried Mu Rong Shu might forget about his uncles.

“Alright, go ahead and find something you like to do. I’ll assign you something in a bit!” Mu Rong Shu waved him off and then turned to greet Liu Ru Yan and the others.

“Shu Er, am I late? It’s all Mother’s fault for saying it was too early, otherwise, I would’ve come earlier to help!” Liu Ru Yan pouted, recalling how her mother forbade her from coming too early and disturbing Mu Rong Shu’s rest.

“You’re not late at all. If Aunt Ming hears you, she’ll say something, though. We’ve just started, and there’s plenty for you to do!” Mu Rong Shu wrapped her arm around Liu Ru Yan’s, speaking in a friendly tone. Wen Jing could tell they had a good relationship.

“Miss Mu Rong, my third brother and I are here to help too. If there’s anything to do, just let us know,” Wen Ye said, seeing how busy everyone was. He had been itching to join in.

After greeting everyone, Mu Rong Shu started assigning tasks. She had initially planned for Wen Ye to paint the dining table, but when he saw Mu Si carving bamboo skewers, he insisted on joining him.

“Wen Ye, you may have competed with me for shifts, but today you can’t beat me. Look at how quickly and neatly I’m making these bamboo skewers. Shu Er even praised me!”

As soon as Wen Ye saw Mu Si, he realized he had finally found someone to boast to. It had been so long since he’d had a chance to show off, there was no one to brag to, not even his big brother or his sons. Now that Wen Ye was here, it was the perfect time!

General Mu and Mu Si Shu quietly shifted to the side. They were both horrified. Thank goodness Wen Ye had arrived to save them, his second uncle was too good at showing off.

“Mu Rong Shu, is there anything I can do to help?” Wen Jing, worried Mu Rong Shu might forget about him now that his second brother had found something to do, quickly asked.

“Go over and paint the dining table with my brothers. The design should be meaningful and match today’s theme. Zi Yu, would you like to give it a try?” Mu Rong Shu actually had a personal reason for assigning Wen Jing this task. She had heard that his paintings were highly sought after, so she took this opportunity to let him guide her brothers.

“I’m happy to give it a try!” Wen Jing didn’t expect Mu Rong Shu to have such high standards for the painting, and he wondered if she was planning to document the event today. With that thought, he already knew what kind of painting she wanted.

Mu Rong Shu got everyone started on their tasks. She, Liu Ru Yan, Rong Yun Nan, and Song Yan ran went to grind the medicinal powder (which was actually the seasoning for today’s barbecue). Most of it was brought by Rong Yun Nan, with some secret supplies Mu Rong Shu had taken from her space hospital.

While they were busy grinding, the butler arrived with a group of people carrying a freshly slaughtered sheep, some fresh beef, and even two suckling pigs.

Mu Rong Shu was thrilled. “Uncle Zeng, where did these suckling pigs come from?”

“I saw them at the market and thought you might need them, so I brought them along. I’m glad you like them, Miss,” the butler said, surprised by Mu Rong Shu’s joy.

“Thank you, Uncle Zeng. When I’m done cooking, you must try them!” Mu Rong Shu sincerely invited him.

“Well, I’ll be shameless and wait for it then,” the butler said, smiling widely. In his heart, Mu Rong Shu was like his own child, she was kind-hearted and treated them well. His own daughter, Xiao Tao, was Mu Rong Shu’s senior maid, and Xiao Tao always spoke highly of her mistress.

“Uncle Zeng, I heard from Xiao Tao that her second brother is quick and efficient. I wonder if you would be willing to let him help me out today?” Mu Rong Shu recalled this after seeing Uncle Zeng.

Uncle Zeng froze. His second son was indeed efficient and smart, but sometimes a bit scatter brained. He feared that he might cause trouble for Mu Rong Shu.

“Miss, it’s not that I’m unwilling. It’s just that Xiao Tao’s second brother can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, and I’m worried he might cause problems for you,” the butler said frankly.

“I understand, Uncle Zeng. That’s exactly what I need, a person who’s a bit unpredictable. Just answer me, yes or no,” Mu Rong Shu had already done her homework before asking.

“If Miss is willing to take him on, then it’s his good fortune. How could I say no? If anything goes wrong, please let me know!” the butler replied happily.

“Well then, tell him to come over right now. I have something for him to do.” Mu Rong Shu had a task in mind for him.

“Understood. He’s over there with the others. I’ll bring him right to you,” the butler said. His second son, Er Zhu, had followed along with the meat delivery.

The butler went over to explain the situation to his second son, giving him a stern reminder not to cause trouble for the young lady before bringing him to Mu Rong Shu.

Mu Rong Shu immediately assigned Er Zhu to the task of handling the lamb and suckling pigs. Er Zhu hesitated and said, “Miss, I can only do the basics.”

Mu Rong Shu was surprised. “Since you know how to do it, then it’s your job! Here, let me show you, cut along this line, avoid this part, and yes, exactly, very good!”

Mu Rong Shu guided Er Zhu in cutting the lamb, and before they knew it, a crowd had gathered around them. No one had realized there was so much to learn just from cutting a lamb.

Er Zhu was delighted. No wonder his sister always said that Mu Rong Shu was the most capable person in the world. Which young lady in the capital would have the courage and knowledge to do this? From now on, he was determined to work closely with Mu Rong Shu. He was sure he’d be more successful with her than he would ever be with his father.

Wen Jing thought that Mu Rong Shu was truly a treasure. The more he got to know her, the more amazed he became.

“You all, why are you crowding around? Go on and get to work, or we won’t have lunch!” Mu Rong Shu teased as she noticed the growing crowd around her and Er Zhu.
