Chapter 11
Yi Yi Chi stayed in her space for a while. When the lights in the master bedroom of the Zhou house finally went out, she exited the space to begin her work.
The soil freshly dug up by the Zhou couple was very soft. Yi Yi pulled out an old Chi family iron wok spatula from her space and, like a little rabbit, began digging.
Half an hour later, Yi Yi finally dug a deep pit.
At the bottom of the pit were two large redwood chests.
Yi Yi’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
She was going to be rich.
Her space could now be upgraded again.
The two chests were very heavy—Yi Yi struggled even to lift them.
She went back into her space and drank a large bowl of spiritual spring water, feeling almost fully restored. Then she returned to the yard outside.
This time, she could finally move the chests.
Yi Yi had to push them slowly, bit by bit, until both were safely stored in her space.
Mission accomplished.
She drank another bowl of spiritual spring water inside the space, then climbed over the Zhou family’s wall and quietly slipped away.
The streets were empty. Yi Yi turned into a dark alley and, without a sound, vanished into her space again.
Inside, everything had changed.
The spiritual mountain that produced the spring water was now half-exposed—what a majestic mountain. However, the size of the spring water flow hadn’t changed.
Yi Yi was a little disappointed.
She had just hauled in two huge chests full of treasure, yet the upgrade wasn’t as dramatic as she had hoped.
She hadn’t even checked whether those chests contained gold or antique calligraphy and paintings.
Stepping out of the cave, she was surprised to find that her space now had a small winding river, perfect for irrigating future crops in the open fields.
Suddenly, something brushed against her foot, startling her.
“Who’s there?”
Yi Yi turned and saw a metallic robot dog sitting obediently in front of her.
“Hello, Master. I am Xiao Zhi, your intelligent household assistant for this space. I’ll be helping you manage everything here from now on.”
Yi Yi nodded—she was familiar with AI technology.
She asked, “Xiao Zhi, can you introduce this space to me?”
“Of course, Master. This is your private space, which contains spiritual mountains and clear waters, unlimited farmland, a luxury villa, three large warehouses, and a humanoid assistant, Xiao Zhi 2.0, who can help you with manual labor.”
Yi Yi hadn’t expected the space to contain so many hidden features. It seemed like she’d need to gather a lot of gold and treasure to fully unlock it all.
She asked, “Xiao Zhi, how much gold or antiques do I need to fully develop the space?”
“Master, I don’t know the exact amount, but I do know that the origin of the treasure affects the return. For example, the items you first offered yielded a mediocre upgrade. But the second batch, particularly the gold bars, returned significant improvements.”
Yi Yi immediately thought of the second batch of small gold bars (“little yellow fish”), which came from the Chi family in Yuecheng.
Could it be that the origin and ownership of the treasure affected the space’s return value?
But the letter didn’t mention anything about a heart-shaped jade pendant, and she wasn’t even sure if it belonged to the Yuecheng Chi family.
“Master, go take a look at your villa. See if you like it!”
Yi Yi followed Xiao Zhi’s direction—and there it was: a modern luxury villa nestled beside the spiritual mountain.
She was thrilled. She finally had a house of her own! She could even live inside the space if she wanted to.
Xiao Zhi eagerly gave a tour. The villa had three floors:
Yi Yi toured the entire villa—it was spacious, sleek, and fully equipped with smart systems. The king-sized memory foam bed in the master bedroom was so soft, she didn’t want to leave.
She was tempted to move in that very night, but she still had unfinished business with the Chi family.
Chi Da Qiang had worked so hard to scrape together some money today. She wasn’t about to let the family return to a comfortable life so easily.
She had slept on a stifling wooden attic floor for over a decade. There was no way she’d let the Chi family avoid doing the same for a few months.
Yi Yi returned home and took out a special knockout drug she had acquired earlier at the black market.
She dissolved the powder in water, soaked a towel in it, and then gently held it to Chi Da Qiang’s mouth and nose.
Then, one by one, she knocked out Lin Ru, Chi Bi Lian, and Chi Jun Shu.
She took all of their outer clothes and pants and stored them in her space. She wanted them to wake up tomorrow morning with nothing to wear.
Let them suffer.
From Chi Da Qiang’s pants, she also found over 200 yuan and some ration coupons, most of which likely came from Zhou Zi Xiao the day before.
Earlier, she hadn’t even bothered to refill the pit she’d dug in the Zhou family’s yard.
By the time the Zhou family woke up, they’d realize their treasure stash had been stolen.
Let’s see if Zhou Zi Xiao would still be so generous with her hated “sister-in-law” after this.
Having done all this, Yi Yi returned to her attic to sleep.
Early the next morning:
Yi Yi was awoken by loud, panicked screams from downstairs.
“Ahhh!!”
“We’ve been robbed again!!”
“Da Qiang, we’ve been robbed again! What do we do now?!”
Chi Da Qiang woke up groggily.
From the next room, Chi Bi Lian shouted, “Mom! I can’t go out today—my clothes are all gone!”
Chi Jun Shu was curled up in his small room, trembling—his clothes and pants were also missing, but he didn’t dare say a word.
Chi Da Qiang wished he could just go back to sleep. Now he was left in only a pair of boxers.
Lin Ru screamed, “Da Qiang, stop pretending to sleep! Our house has been robbed again—what are we going to do?!”
Chi Da Qiang shouted, “Chi Jun Shu! What’s your status over there?”
“Dad, I took off my clothes before bed last night. They’re all gone now!”
“Useless fool!”
Lin Ru cried out, “Da Qiang, what are we going to do?”
“Stop crying!”
Chi Da Qiang then shouted again, “Yi Yi! Chi Yi Yi!”
Yi Yi yawned and came downstairs. She kicked open the master bedroom door.
“Ahhh!”
Lin Ru was barely dressed—only in her undergarments. She didn’t want anyone to see her like this.
Chi Da Qiang quickly shut the door.
Next door, Chi Bi Lian also locked her door with a loud click.
Yi Yi almost laughed out loud.
These people couldn’t even handle one night of sleeping on the floor without a fan. She had done it for years in that sweltering attic.
Inside the room, Lin Ru asked suspiciously,
“Chi Yi Yi… why are you the only one with clothes on?”
