Reborn in the 80s: Married to a Stoic Military Officer, the Scumbag Turned White Overnight Chapter 5: Explosive! Caught Cheating in Bed

Gurgle! Liu Cuihua’s head was shoved into the foul water, the dirty liquid rushing into her nose and mouth.

“Aah!” she screamed, choking and gulping down water, only to be yanked out by Comrade Jiang Manyue.

Just as she caught her breath and tried to scream for help, Jiang Manyue shoved her head back down again.

After several rounds of this, Liu Cuihua struggled with all her strength until she finally collapsed on the floor. Only then did Jiang Manyue let go.

Cough, cough! Liu Cuihua clutched her mouth and lay on the ground vomiting, her face pale as death, barely clinging to life.

Staring at that wretched face, Jiang Manyue coldly spat, “Your mouth is so filthy—better scrub it clean with sewage.”

If anyone dared make her suffer, then no one would be spared.

Brushing aside the noisy, obstructive trash blocking her path, Jiang Manyue didn’t even glance back at the woman struggling on the floor.

She headed straight to Ma Xiangyang’s hospital room.

“Xiangyang, why were you so reckless? That fire was huge—why would you rush in to save me?” came a sweet, tearful voice from the half-open door.

Ma Xiangyang lay in the hospital bed, his face and body visibly burned in several areas.

Though his life wasn’t in danger, his once-handsome face was ruined.

On the right side of his face, a scar the size of an egg stretched across his cheek—an ugly pink blotch.

He held a woman’s hand gently, his gaze tender and affectionate. “Wanrou, don’t cry. It breaks my heart to see your tears.”

“When I thought you were trapped in the fire, do you know how terrified I was?”

“I really thought you were going to die. Thank goodness you made it out and came back to me.”

Bai Wanrou sat at the bedside, wearing a red dress. Even just her back view exuded charm and seduction.

“Your leg’s fractured,” she said, gently placing her hand on his cast-covered leg, her eyes misty with sympathy. “Will it hurt even after you heal?”

Though nearly thirty, Bai Wanrou was delicately dressed and impeccably made up—no one would believe she had a child.

She had a seductive elegance that young girls couldn’t match. No wonder Ma Xiangyang was madly in love with her, willing to risk his life for her.

Her soft, fragile demeanor would awaken any man’s protective instincts, even his life would be an easy price to pay.

“Don’t cry anymore. As long as you’re here, nothing hurts,” Ma Xiangyang said, lifting his hand to wipe away her tears.

As if the woman before him was the most precious treasure in the world, he dared not let her suffer even a little.

Bai Wanrou sobbed, her voice tinged with jealousy as she clutched her chest. “But thinking of you marrying Jiang Manyue makes my heart ache.”

At the mention of Jiang Manyue, a trace of disgust and impatience flickered across Ma Xiangyang’s eyes.

“I only married her for her money and her house. I’d never actually touch her.”

“How can a dull woman like her compare to you? Right now, she still has her uses.”

“Once she gives up her job to you, I’ll make her quit completely and stay home to take care of us.”

“Really?” Bai Wanrou pouted, tears brimming in her eyes as she looked up at him innocently.

“Of course it’s true!” Ma Xiangyang said, pulling her hand closer, their faces gradually inching toward each other.

Breaths grew heavier until their lips met, kissing passionately without a care in the world.

Watching this scene unfold, Jiang Manyue clenched her fists tightly, rage spreading through every vein in her body.

Even though she no longer loved this man and felt only hatred, seeing and hearing it with her own eyes and ears still stabbed her heart like a knife.

So many years of her past life had been a joke, she never knew the two of them had already been involved back then.

Bang!

The door slammed open, shocking the pair caught in their passionate embrace.

Jiang Manyue stormed in and grabbed Bai Wanrou, who was still lip-locked with Ma Xiangyang, yanking her by the hair and dragging her to the floor.

“You filthy woman! How dare you seduce my husband!”

“You two disgusting animals—cheating right here in a hospital room. I finally caught you in the act!”

“You shameless vixen, I’ll skin you alive!”

She roared in fury, pinning Bai Wanrou down and violently rubbing her face against the floor.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

Jiang Manyue raised her hand and slapped her repeatedly across the cheeks, the crisp sound echoing through the ward.

The dazed Bai Wanrou hadn’t even recovered from the shock before she screamed for help.

“Help! Please stop hitting me!”

Ma Xiangyang, who had just been reveling in the thrill of cheating with his sister-in-law, now stood frozen in horror as the door burst open.

When he finally registered it as Jiang Manyue, he shouted angrily, “Jiang Manyue! Stop right now!”

Normally, just a hint of displeasure from him would send her into a panic.

Forget raising a hand—she wouldn’t even dare to raise her voice to him.

But the woman before him was unrecognizable. Jiang Manyue looked like a furious shrew, eyes blazing with murderous rage, as if she were ready to devour Bai Wanrou whole.

She didn’t seem to hear him at all.

Sitting on top of Bai Wanrou, she slapped her across the face over and over again.

“You shameless slut! Let’s see if you dare seduce another woman’s man!”

Ma Xiangyang’s pupils dilated in shock. Was this really the same Jiang Manyue he knew?

He tried to get up, leg in a cast, struggling to intervene—but before he could, Jiang Manyue swung her elbow back and struck him.

Smack! A slap landed squarely on his cheek, knocking him straight back onto the bed.

He clutched his face and chest, stunned and humiliated.

“Stop it!” he cried hoarsely. “She—cough cough—she’s your sister-in-law!”

“You’re calling this woman your sister-in-law?” Jiang Manyue sneered, tearing at Bai Wanrou’s clothes.

“No way. She’s nothing but a two-faced vixen seducing someone else’s man.”

“Would a real sister-in-law be in your hospital room kissing her younger brother-in-law?”

Ma Xiangyang’s face darkened. He wanted to stop her, but his injured body wouldn’t cooperate.

Powerless, he screamed in frustration. “Stop it, Jiang Manyue! She really is your sister-in-law—Bai Wanrou!”

Pinned to the ground, Bai Wanrou had no strength left to fight back.

Only when Jiang Manyue’s arms grew sore did she finally stop.

She rubbed her aching wrists, then looked down at the disheveled woman beneath her.

Sob sob sob! Bai Wanrou’s cheeks were swollen like a pig’s, her hair a tangled mess with large patches torn out.

Her dress was ripped at the collar, exposing her chest.

She trembled, weeping pitifully. “You… you hit the wrong person. I didn’t…”

“Sister-in-law? Is it really you?” Jiang Manyue acted as if she’d just recognized her.

Eyes bloodshot, she clutched her chest as if struck by lightning.

“How could it be you? Sister-in-law, I’ve always treated you well—why would you seduce my husband?”

She looked at them in disbelief, tears streaming down her face.

“If I hadn’t come to check on him, I wouldn’t have known you and Ma Xiangyang were kissing behind my back!”

What?! Kissing in the hospital room? With his sister-in-law?

Director Li had just caught up to the room with a few staff members when he overheard this explosive revelation.

When they arrived and saw the chaotic scene, and Bai Wanrou’s disheveled appearance they all quickly averted their eyes.

Everyone in the textile factory had heard the rumors of an ambiguous relationship between Ma Xiangyang and his sister-in-law.

Now it was confirmed—Jiang Manyue had caught them red-handed.
