Chapter 63: Finally Divorced from Him
Lu Zhixing’s dark, unclear eyes watched Shen Subai leave, then finally landed on Xie Yunshu’s face. “I never knew you had a friend like this.”
This man looked very familiar. He couldn’t quite place where he had seen him before, but he was sure he was definitely not someone from the packaging factory.
Xie Yunshu got on her bicycle. “Stop talking nonsense. Let’s go to the street office!”
After signing the divorce agreement, the remaining procedures went much smoother—it was just signing one name and stamping one seal. The staff member handling the paperwork was the same lady who had previously helped Xie Yunshu get her divorce referral letter. She still remembered this pretty young woman clearly.
When it came to the signature section, Xie Yunshu quickly wrote her name. But when it came to Lu Zhixing, he hesitated, his pen lingering.
It was as if something was binding him. Even though he told himself he would still try to win her back, at this moment, when signing, the pen in his hand felt unbearably heavy.
Zhou Xinyue saw this and grew anxious. She bit her lip, tears rolling down. “Zhixing, it’s all my fault. Tomorrow… no, tonight, I’ll take Xiao Wei and leave…”
Lu Xueting, on the other hand, was excited. She urged, “Brother, hurry up and sign! What are you hesitating for? You should have divorced a long time ago. She’s not as kind as Sister Xinyue! Just so you know, I won’t let Sister Xinyue leave!”
The staff lady glanced at the two women behind Lu Zhixing with a complicated look. She quickly figured out that one was his sister and the other was a woman he was keeping outside the family?
No wonder the girl insisted on divorce. What kind of man brings another woman to the divorce? Isn’t that too impatient and disrespectful? Thinking this, the lady looked at Lu Zhixing with disdain. “Comrade, we’re about to finish work. Please hurry!”
Lu Zhixing finally clenched his teeth and slowly signed his name. Before he could say anything, the lady snatched the paper and decisively stamped two red seals.
The marriage certificate was finally replaced with a divorce certificate.
She glanced at Xie Yunshu and smiled. “It’s done. Miss, from now on, you’re single. There’s no relationship between you two anymore, no marriage ties or involvement!”
Hearing this, Lu Zhixing’s face turned even paler. His fingers curled tightly as he whispered, “Yunshu, I was wrong and should have let you vent your anger. If this divorce satisfies you… will we still have a chance?”
Xie Yunshu found it ridiculous. Did he still think the divorce was just because he was too angry?
“No. Don’t ever show up in front of me again.”
Outside, the only sunlight gradually faded and darkness approached, but in Xie Yunshu’s heart, she saw a brilliant light, feeling completely at ease. She was finally divorced, completely changing the woman she had dreamed of being.
She had once placed too many extravagant hopes on this unhappy marriage, sunk too deeply into love, hate, jealousy, and delusion. She loved him, so she gave him beautiful illusions.
She thought she was good enough and that he must be good enough too, but without this illusory love…
She could see clearly now—this man was utterly worthless: proud, arrogant, promiscuous, and stupid.
The staff lady preparing to leave for the day was stunned by Lu Zhixing’s words—this was a classic case of “grasping the pot while looking at the bowl.” Bringing both the new lover and the ex to the divorce, then asking the ex for another chance after signing.
What a shameless spineless man, running in circles!
So the lady warmly linked arms with Xie Yunshu. “Young lady, divorcing now is like breaking up with a boyfriend. From now on, find someone, get married, but keep your eyes wide open. Don’t pick men who have other women stuck to their backs!”
Her words clearly scolded Lu Zhixing and Zhou Xinyue…
Xie Yunshu’s eyes felt a sting—not because she divorced Lu Zhixing, but because she was finally free of him. She lowered her head and smiled softly, “Thank you, sister. I’ll keep my eyes wide open.”
After leaving the street office, Xie Yunshu only said one sentence: “I’ll go to the family housing complex on Sunday to move my things, and I’ll return the keys then.”
Lu Xueting sneered, “Who cares about that junk? Hurry and take it away!”
Lu Zhixing stared steadily at her. “Whatever you want from the house, you can take it.”
He owed her. Besides money, he was willing to make amends.
“Okay.” Xie Yunshu for once showed him a sincere smile—no sarcasm. After all, why not take it?
Zhou Xinyue took a deep breath. If Xie Yunshu really took everything away, where would she live in the empty house?
“Why would Yunshu care about those things? If she remarries, won’t it be uncomfortable for the other man’s heart too?” She stepped forward, hiding the jealous gleam in her eyes, and tidied her hair smoothly. “That man looked close to you today and insisted I deliberately bumped into you.”
If she hadn’t mentioned it, Xie Yunshu would have almost forgotten.
“Watch yourself, Zhou Xinyue,” Xie Yunshu said slowly, then suddenly pushed her hard to the ground. Standing over her, she said, “Sorry, just now there was a bicycle and I was afraid I’d hit you. Don’t misunderstand.”
Zhou Xinyue landed hard, scraping her hands. Even she couldn’t fake her expression now. “Xie Yunshu, you did it on purpose! That bike was so far away, how could you have hit me?”
Xie Yunshu shrugged innocently. “Maybe I was mistaken?”
This was payback for when Zhou Xinyue bumped into her at the courthouse, speaking harsh words. Now that Xie Yunshu pushed her and didn’t back down, it was just tit for tat.
Lu Xueting hurriedly helped her up and glared at Xie Yunshu. “Are you doing this on purpose? Xie Yunshu, you really are something. My brother doesn’t want you anymore, so I’m telling you, it’s too late to regret now! Stop targeting Sister Xinyue!”
Lu Zhixing was completely dazed. He hadn’t noticed any bicycle and didn’t know if Xie Yunshu did it on purpose. But when he heard Lu Xueting say “too late to regret,” his eyes refocused.
He pressed his lips. “Yunshu, I’ll wait for you.”
Zhou Xinyue nearly exploded with anger. This man’s eyes and heart were entirely on her until just now, and after getting the divorce certificate, he ignored her? Did he even see that Xie Yunshu pushed her on purpose?
Unfortunately, Lu Zhixing’s gaze was now fixed on Xie Yunshu, hoping she would give him an affirmative answer.
Xie Yunshu got on her bicycle and said one word: “Go.”
Zhou Xinyue gritted her teeth, pitifully: “Zhixing, my hand really hurts, Yunshu she…”
Lu Zhixing’s gaze finally returned to her, his lips moving: “Xinyue, maybe Yunshu really just saw it wrong. Don’t take it to heart. You’re a nurse—just go back and put some iodine on it.”
What did that mean? Because she was a nurse, she shouldn’t feel pain?
But this time, she didn’t fake it. Her hand really hurt!
