No Chance Left, Part 2
“Just because you say so, doesn’t make it true!” Qin Lin’s eyes were red with anger as he turned to look at Ye Mo. “Little girl, I’m asking you—do I still have a chance?”
Mo Mo scoffed, “You don’t need to ask her. I’m her man, and I’ve already made the decision for her.”
“I didn’t ask you. I’m asking her!” Qin Lin stared intensely at Ye Mo. “Little girl, do you not remember the times we had together?”
They had once fought for their lives together!
Ye Mo looked at Qin Lin, his brows furrowed. How was she supposed to respond? When she first came to this interstellar world, she had harboured a grudge against Qin Lin, but she couldn’t ignore the fact that everything in her space was thanks to him.
But when it came down to it, that space actually originated from Mo Mo, so ultimately, Qin Lin had shown up too late.
“Brother Qin Lin, I’m sorry,” Ye Mo finally said, after a moment of hesitation.
“Sorry for what?” Qin Lin asked, visibly upset. “Did I really arrive after him?”
Ye Mo nodded. “Brother Qin Lin, you did come a bit late. Before I even arrived in the interstellar world, the original owner of this body had already established a connection with Mo Mo.” So, she was merely stepping into an existing relationship.
“And in the dark realm?” Qin Lin’s voice grew more frustrated.
Ye Mo raised her brows. “Wasn’t it you who assumed I had ties with Mo Mo and kidnapped me?” So, even in the dark realm, he was still a step too late—no matter how you looked at it, he was always just a bit behind.
“But I helped you gather all sorts of items from the cultivation world and the mortal world…” Qin Lin was unwilling to let Mo Mo reap the final rewards.
“When I obtained the space, those who dropped it mentioned it was a ring prepared by a bigshot for his grandson, whose body was said to be… special.”
Ye Mo hadn’t even finished her sentence when Mo Mo looked at her with a hint of surprise. Was this space really the ring the old man had mentioned, meant for him?
Mo Mo chuckled and turned to Qin Lin. “Qin Lin, some things are just fated by the heavens.”
Qin Lin was already beyond frustrated. How could he always be a step too late, no matter what? And this last step was so crucial that it led to his complete defeat.
To be honest, if he had awakened even a bit earlier in this life than Mo Mo, he might not have lost at all. After all, he had known since their time in the dark realm that Ye Mo and Mo Mo hadn’t been acquainted prior to that; their meeting was purely coincidental.
More importantly, Qin Lin knew that with his status as Prince Kassel, coupled with the numerous women around him, Ye Mo would never accept a man who had other women by his side.
That was another reason why he lost.
“Qin Lin, it’s over. You have no chance left, so just leave,” Mo Mo urged Qin Lin to go, his mind already set on pursuing the yin-yang dual cultivation. To do so, he’d need to soak in the very center of the yin-yang pool, just as Ye Mo had done.
No matter how painful it was, he would endure it! After all, Ye Mo had already endured this pain.
Qin Lin left, feeling dejected, while Mo Mo quickly pulled Ye Mo back into their room, locking the door behind them. He then urged Ye Mo to bring him back into the space.
“Aren’t you going to meet Lan Feng and the others?” Ye Mo glanced at Mo Mo.
“I can see them anytime. There’s something more urgent now!” Mo Mo urged Ye Mo, “Hurry, take me back to the space!”
Ye Mo led him back, and as soon as Mo Mo entered, he leaped straight into the centre of the yin-yang pool.
Ye Mo barely had time to stop him. The moment Mo Mo’s body touched the black water, it started to dissolve.
“Mo Mo, what are you doing?” Ye Mo shouted in panic, trying to pull him out.
“Relax, wait for me. If you could handle it, so can I!” Mo Mo’s body melted almost instantly in the black water, leaving only his soul, which also began to dissolve in the vitality water.
Ye Mo was terrified. “Mo Mo, get out, get out now! If this continues, your soul will melt, too.”
“It won’t. Trust me!” Mo Mo gritted his teeth against the agony of his burning soul and resolutely continued his cultivation.
The black water provided him with immense support. Even without a physical body, his soul remained strong and carried the fire attribute. Soon, the vitality water began to boil.
Ye Mo was anxious and heartbroken; she knew the pain of having a body dissolve and the torment of a soul being scorched. Seeing Mo Mo’s burning soul, she could only imagine the unbearable pain he was enduring.
But Mo Mo’s willpower was formidable. As time passed, by the end of the day and night, the flames on his body had significantly subsided.
Ye Mo realized that Mo Mo was actively controlling the flames, directing their power toward the yang side.
In truth, Mo Mo’s soul body also qualified as a yin-yang body. For instance, the first time they met in the dark realm, he was a ghost cultivator with scorching flames—clearly embodying a yin-yang balance.
After all, what ghost cultivators fear most is fire, especially the fire on Mo Mo’s body, which is obviously of yang attribute.
After three days, the six little ones woke up to find the yin-yang pool now calm.
However, Ye Mo knew that Mo Mo still needed more time.
The six little ones stepped out and saw Mo Mo in the pool.
“Daddy’s here!” Guaiguai exclaimed happily; after all, this wasn’t just a video call.
Ye Mo stopped the six eager children from running over. “Daddy is cultivating. Let’s not disturb him.”
The six little ones were slightly disappointed.
Still, they understood that their father currently had no physical form and would need time before he could play with them.
Now, Guaiguai had already reached the sixth level of the Foundation Establishment stage, while Baobao and Niuniu were at the fifth level, and the remaining four were at the fourth level.
Ye Mo was surprised by how well her six little ones were progressing, their cultivation speed was astonishing, and they were catching up to her quickly, making her feel a bit overwhelmed. What should she do?
Looking at Mo Mo in the yin-yang pool, Ye Mo muttered, “Mo Mo, you better make the most of the pool’s power and reach the Nascent Soul stage. Otherwise, I’m feeling the pressure!”
Having strong kids wasn’t a bad thing, right?
Of course, it’s good for the kids to be strong!
But the real problem is, that they’re still just children without a proper sense of right and wrong. If these six little troublemakers were let loose, Ye Mo feared the havoc they’d wreak would be more than she could handle!
After all, with their current Foundation Establishment stage abilities, the destruction they could cause in this interstellar world was substantial.
So, she could only hope Mo Mo’s cultivation would progress swiftly enough to keep these little ones in check.
