Taking the Blame
Mo Mo had no idea that pulling Ye Mo along in a quick escape would land him in such hot water.
Now, everyone on Sky Blue Star suspected that General Mo Mo had betrayed his wife, the General’s wife, and hooked up with the Transcendent Plant Master. Some even started to stir the pot among the star citizens, suggesting that Zhang Yuming dragging the General’s wife into space was all part of Mo Mo’s plan. These instigators aimed to ruin Mo Mo’s reputation.
“Did General Mo really do these things?”
“Impossible, right?”
“I don’t believe it!”
“Neither do I!”
“I feel like someone is deliberately stirring the pot!”
“Definitely, there are a lot of trolls in this.”
“Why slander General Mo? Isn’t he stationed in District Eight now? He’s not coming back to take over District One. Why do some people seem so nervous?”
“Exactly. If this keeps up, won’t people in Districts Seven and Eight stop selling us Vitality Water? Would that make everyone happy?”
“We’re talking about General Mo Mo’s alleged affair—how is that related?”
“Why is it not related?”
“Yeah, why is it not related?”
“Don’t you think General Mo Mo’s relationship with the Transcendent Plant Master seems really close?”
“They’re just business partners. Does anyone even know who the Master is?”
“Right, and who can prove the Master is in District One?”
“And who can prove that General Mo is in Zone One?”
Fortunately, Mo Mo’s usual image was very positive, so most people still believed in him. Also, footage surfaced of Mo Mo inspecting his warship just two days ago, which made it clear that no one could travel from outside the galaxy to District One in such a short time without highly advanced wormhole technology. And as far as anyone knew, interstellar wormhole tech wasn’t that advanced yet.
With this, the online trolls went silent, afraid of being exposed if they kept pushing their agenda. But would staying quiet really protect them from being exposed? Not likely, as many of General Mo Mo’s die-hard fans had already started digging into these trolls’ backgrounds.
However, none of this affected Mo Mo and Ye Mo.
After Mo Mo pulled Ye Mo away from the crowd, they lost interest in exploring and headed back to Mo Mo’s house on Sky Blue Star. When they arrived, Lan Feng and his team were already waiting.
The house was spacious, though the front yard was barren. Lan Feng’s team had been keeping up with the news online, and when they saw the updates about their General and the General’s wife, they were stunned.
Looking at Mo Mo and Ye Mo, the group was speechless. What a mess! Clearly, Mo Mo was with his wife, who was also the Master, but now it seemed they couldn’t easily clear up the misunderstandings.
After all, with the fake General’s wife allegedly pulled into space by Zhang Yuming, people could accuse Ye Mo of orchestrating her own escape by having someone die in her place if they said it was an impostor. And if they claimed it was a robot, who would believe them? This was turning into a real headache!
Lan Feng and the others pulled Mo Mo aside to discuss how to resolve the situation, while Ye Mo surveyed the property. The backyard was spacious, appearing to be a training ground.
Mo Mo had picked a great spot—there were no neighbors within five miles. I wonder how Mo Mo did it?
The barren look of the courtyard didn’t sit well with Ye Mo. She set up a flower bed in the front yard, planted fruit trees in half of the backyard training ground, and set up some amusement facilities she’d bought online in the other half, making the space much more comfortable.
Ye Mo then brought out her six little ones. Now that they could all run, they immediately rushed to the slides, playing energetically. Even though they were cultivators, they were still children at heart.
When Mo Mo returned with Lan Feng and the others, the whole courtyard had transformed, and they could hear the kids playing in the back. Lan Feng’s team was thrilled; they were finally going to meet the six little ones, right? Before Mo Mo could say anything, they all rushed to the backyard.
Soon, the group was playing with the kids, while Ye Mo finished setting up a formation to conceal the entire property.
Mo Mo walked over to Ye Mo. “How did you manage to have no obstructions around here?” she asked.
Mo Mo gently patted her head, smiling, “This entire area belongs to me.”
Ye Mo blinked. “That’s a lot of space for just this little house. Isn’t that a bit wasteful?”
“Do whatever you like with it,” Mo Mo grinned.
Ye Mo shook her head. “It’s fine. As long as it’s enough to live in. By the way, where is everyone else? Why are there only ten guards here?”
“They’re at another location, not far from here. Don’t worry,” Mo Mo replied. Sky Blue Star had not only his private property but also assets from District Eight, so there was no shortage of places to stay.
Ye Mo glanced at Mo Mo. “When we got back, Lan Feng and his group looked really serious. Did something happen?”
Mo Mo chuckled, then he opened the StarNet directly and let Ye Mo read the news.
Ye Mo was stunned. So they had taken the fall themselves?
“Is there a way to fix this?”
Mo Mo smiled. “I’ve got an idea that’ll clear all of us.”
Ye Mo’s eyes lit up. “What’s the plan?”
“We can teleport our whole family to the warship and make a public appearance. That way, we can clear up the fake wife incident, the selling of the kids, and the Master issue all at once.”
Ye Mo blinked. “But if we do that, won’t the kids lose their chance to appear publicly in District One?”
“They’re too young now. It’s not the right time for them to be in the public eye,” Mo Mo said, looking over at the children playing with Lan Feng and the others. “Even though they’re strong, once they’re in the spotlight, they won’t have a moment’s peace until they’re five.”
Ye Mo pouted. “Didn’t we already sell Vitality Water? Shouldn’t plenty of people be able to have kids now?”
Mo Mo sighed. “No, Vitality Water can restore genetic health, but it doesn’t increase fertility rates.”
