The Unfriendly Beast Clan, Part 1
After their arrival, Mo Mo and Ye Mo had relied on the tracking system embedded in their rings, but the system was unstable. If they could establish wormholes and teleportation arrays, their water retrieval trips would become far more convenient.
“Let’s take a full sweep of this planet to check for any remaining octopus creatures,” Ye Mo suggested, worried there might still be more lurking.
“Agreed, let’s do a thorough scan,” Mo Mo said, grabbing Ye Mo’s hand as they meticulously searched every inch of the water, underwater, and even below the surface. Mo Mo’s careful exploration revealed no abnormalities or places suitable for the octopus creatures to thrive. It seemed as if these creatures had appeared out of nowhere, giving Mo the unsettling impression that they might have been sent from the Dark Realm specifically to cause trouble.
Mo Mo shared this thought with Yemo.
“Considering the Dark Realm, the only enemy we’ve made there is Qin Lin. But Qin Lin is in the interstellar world and has no chance of returning to the Dark Realm,” Ye Mo mused.
Mo Mo smirked, “But his grandfather is still there.”
Ye Mo tilted her head thoughtfully. “I remember your grandfather holds some influence in the Dark Realm too. Since they’re giving us trouble, why not have your grandfather stir up some issues for Qin Lin in return?”
Mo Mo shook his head. “Qin Lin already has plenty of problems he brought upon himself. If my grandfather were to intervene, it might inadvertently help him instead. We need to handle this ourselves.”
Together, Mo Mo and Ye Mo set about constructing the teleportation array. Mo Mo was quite adept at building them by now. They also erected a defensive barrier around the array to ensure those collecting water wouldn’t easily encounter any trouble.
Mo Mo filled a water gourd that could hold nearly a thousand cubic meters of water—a generous supply for the purification team to work with for some time. After handing the water to the researchers, Mo Mo and Ye Mo left the Planet Elf and set out to find another planet suitable for relocating the venomous snakes. Neither of them relished the idea of sharing a planet with a swarm of poisonous serpents.
Most of the nearby planets were barren, so the pair traveled further, eventually spotting a few lush, green worlds. But upon closer inspection, they discovered these planets were inhabited by various beast clans, and they doubted that the beasts would coexist peacefully with the snakes.
As they prepared to move on, several beast clan warriors blocked their path.
“Humans? What are you doing in the beast territory? Are you here to invade us?” one of the beast warriors demanded.
“State your purpose for being here!” another barked.
The beast warriors surrounded Mo Mo and Ye Mo, but despite their aggressive posturing, Mo and Ye Mo were unfazed. These beast clans were strong physically but no match for their skills as cultivators.
“You can’t stop us,” Mo Mo said coldly. These beasts resembled the ones who had attacked the interstellar space.
“Big brother, why waste words? If they’ve dared to enter our territory, we should just capture them. I heard from the warriors on the frontlines that human flesh is quite tasty,” one beast warrior sneered.
“Yeah, big brother! Why hesitate? That woman looks tender and soft—she’d be fun and delicious!” chimed another.
“Let’s just take them down, big brother!” urged another.
Hearing this, Ye Mo couldn’t help but chuckle. What gave these beast clans the confidence to think they could take on her and Mo Mo? Originally, Ye Mo had reservations about dumping the venomous snakes on these planets, but now she saw a perfect opportunity. Since these beast clans were the same ones invading the interstellar world, giving them a taste of their own medicine sounded just right. Faced with threats to their own habitat, they’d be too busy to invade others.
The beast warriors charged at Mo Mo and Ye Mo, but Mo Mo swiftly pushed Ye Mo aside. “Honey, you just watch from the sidelines. I’ll handle these guys.”
Ye Mo knew these beast warriors were no match for Mo Mo, so she stepped back, ready to enjoy the show. The fight was over quickly; Mo Mo easily took down the beast warriors, who scrambled to their feet and fled back to their planet.
“You’ll regret this! One day, we’ll capture you humans and eat you alive!” they shouted as they retreated.
“Let’s bring in the snakes,” Ye Mo said directly.
“Agreed,” Mo nodded.
The couple knew that not all beast clans were bad, but these ones clearly were. They were the same clans that had invaded the interstellar space. There was no need to be polite.
They quickly set up a teleportation point and then returned to the Planet Elf. Without wasting time, they went outside the elf tree house to capture the snakes. Thanks to their high cultivation, they didn’t need to catch the snakes by hand—a simple spell did the trick.
Soon, they had transported most of the venomous snakes from the Planet Elf to the beast clans’ territory. “Should we grab the rest of the snakes?” Ye Mo asked Mo Mo.
Mo Mo considered for a moment. “Let’s wait and see. For now, we’ll keep the remaining snakes contained. As long as they don’t harm anyone, it’s fine.”
Mo Mo wasn’t afraid of a little extra work. He created an array to keep the snakes confined. He wanted to monitor the impact of releasing the snakes on the beast clans’ planets. If they proved troublesome, they could send more snakes over.
Mo Mo had no intention of being lenient with these beast clans. After consulting with Lu Ke, they confirmed that these were some of the most vicious beast clans in the entire Beast World. Not only did they invade interstellar space, but they also enslaved other, milder beast clans on multiple planets.
Some of these gentler beast clans had been under their rule for decades, unable to fight back.
Lu Ke pitied these subjugated clans, but their warriors were simply too weak to oppose the dominant ones. So, even if they were enslaved, they could only accept their fate!
