Too Much Trouble, Part 1
At this point, Qin Lin had completely given up on competing with Mo Mo for Ye Mo’s affection. To him, it was simply too much effort. He’d rather focus his attention on the many beauties scattered across the interstellar world.
Qin Lin had always been a person of broad affection, and the idea of dedicating himself to just one person was impossible for him. Unlike Mo Mo, who stayed loyal to Ye Mo, Qin Lin simply couldn’t muster that kind of deep passion.
What Qin Lin didn’t realize was that, due to his current physique and cultivation methods, it was impossible for him to make any interstellar woman pregnant. Otherwise, the Dark Realm would never have arranged things this way. From the moment Ye Mo appeared, both Mo Mo’s and Qin Lin’s families had already calculated that she was fated to be connected to both of them. That’s why they were sent here.
Unfortunately, Qin Lin knew too little and, as a result, missed his chance to win over Ye Mo.
At the moment, Ye Mo was in District 3, while Mo Mo was in District 4. If Qin Lin had pushed forward, he might have been able to get closer to Ye Mo. Perhaps there could have even been a slim chance for her to help him change his constitution, but instead, he gave up voluntarily.
A week had passed since the six youngsters started teaching the public how to cultivate. During this time, good news kept coming from Districts 3 and 4. Anyone who managed to channel energy into their body could now stand on their own two feet.
Many of these people had even joined the rescue teams. Though their pace was not fast, their numbers were vast, making up about 10% of the population in Districts 3 and 4. With more people participating in the rescue effort, Ye Mo and her team felt noticeably less pressure.
However, their rescue priorities remained unchanged. They continued to prioritize the injured, the elderly, and the sick, followed by pregnant women. Others were placed further down the list.
But with more rescuers came more problems. Ye Mo’s ship, which used to transport people out of District 3 every two hours, now did so every hour. However, they could only take 500 people at a time. District 3 alone had nearly ten planets, and it was impossible for Ye Mo to stay on just one. They switched planets every hour, following a set rotation.
At first, when the local population didn’t participate in the rescue, no one said much. But now that they had joined in, complaints began to rise. Some people started to question the fairness of the system.
“This isn’t right. Why do we have to wait so long?”
“Yeah, we’ve been waiting since yesterday. Why hasn’t it been our turn yet?” Even though everyone needed rescue, they had to follow the established order.
“I saw the ship go to the trash planet! Are the people there more important than us?”
“Why are they helping those slum people? We’re clearly more valuable than them!”
“You think you’re valuable? What’s the price per pound of your worth?” someone sarcastically retorted, clearly fed up. To most people, Ye Mo’s approach seemed the fairest.
“I think the General’s wife has made a great plan. Rescuing one planet per hour ensures that the most critical cases are addressed first.”
“Exactly! In the face of life and death, no one is more important than anyone else!”
“That’s right. Everyone’s equal. Is your life more valuable than someone else’s?”
But not everyone agreed. “I am the wife of the Star Lord of the main planet in District 3! Is my life not more valuable than others? Why haven’t I been rescued yet? Does the General’s wife not care about us?”
“The General’s wife has been rescuing the seriously injured. So far, I’ve only seen people drenched in blood being helped.”
“That’s true. I can confirm that. I haven’t seen anyone healthy being rescued.”
“That’s not entirely true. I saw a pregnant woman.”
“I almost drew my sword for nothing!”
“I saw the pregnant woman too, but she looked like she was in serious distress. Is the Star Lord’s wife of District 3 also pregnant?”
“Bullshit! How could she be pregnant? I read a report recently about her spending hours shopping. She seemed full of energy.”
“Exactly! I saw the same report. She’s definitely not someone who needs rescuing.”
“If she’s that full of energy, shouldn’t she be able to help herself? Is there no one left in the Star Lord’s Mansion?”
“That’s right. For others, it’s fine to ask for rescue, but for her, I remember that there should be space soldiers in the Star Lord’s Mansion. Didn’t the space soldiers in the Star Lord’s Mansion rescue them?”
“Even if she is rescued, there is probably no way for her to leave District 3. I think what she wants now is to leave District 3
“Yes, that’s for sure!”
Then, the wife of the Star Lord of Planet Three spoke again, “Shouldn’t the officials of Districts 3 and 4 be rescued first?”
Someone laughed at this, “What’s the point of saving you officials first? Are you going to show off in other districts?”
“Exactly! You should stay right where you are. As the officials of Districts 3 and 4, isn’t it your duty to be the last ones to leave?”
“I agree! Let’s give them a round of applause!”
Meanwhile, Ye Mo was too busy with rescue efforts to pay attention to these complaints. To be honest, many people in Districts 3 and 4 had already died, mostly from blood loss. The urgency of the situation couldn’t be overstated.
But only those at the Golden Core stage or higher could pilot the ships. For now, that meant only Ye Mo and Mo Mo had the ability to do so. The others weren’t strong enough yet. If Guaiguai could pass his tribulation, he might be able to fly the spaceship, but Ye Mo didn’t want to put that burden on him. She let the six siblings focus on teaching and answering cultivation questions.
Throughout the galaxy, people referred to the six as “Little Masters,” and everyone hoped to get guidance or a direct answer from them. No one forced them to participate in the rescue, as they were still young, and cultivation was equally important. After all, many people in Districts 3 and 4 were now able to stand on their own two feet thanks to them.
Despite the participation of the local population in rescue efforts, flight equipment was unusable due to the magnetic fields. Everything still relied on Ye Mo, Mo Mo, and the spaceship. Although people were anxious, most refrained from rushing them.
On the planets, the locals had organized themselves into orderly queues. When Ye Mo and Mo Mo’s spaceship arrived, people lined up to board, saving them a lot of trouble.
However, the Star Lord’s wife could now stand and move because of her practice. However, instead of joining the rescue efforts, she was busy fighting for a spot on the ship.
“Move aside! I want to go to the front!” she demanded arrogantly.
