Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 153

Resistance is Surprisingly Easy

The interstellar warrior from District 8 who had just spoken was now fuming with frustration. If he had known things would turn out this way, he would have kept his mouth shut and avoided becoming the target of everyone’s jokes. He stood next to his treehouse, utterly depressed.

If it weren’t for his concern about the general and the general’s wife, he wouldn’t have bothered watching the live stream, let alone saying anything.

“See what happens when you talk? Now you’re paying for it!” The interstellar warrior from the neighbouring treehouse gave him a pat on the shoulder.

“I’m just upset that if we had started cultivating earlier, we could’ve joined the general and his wife. I’ve noticed the ones who went with them have progressed way faster.”

“Yeah, I noticed that too.”

“Speaking of which, my third brother messaged me—he’s already at level seven of the Qi Refinement stage.” Just then, a young boy came running out. He was a relative who had become quite familiar with everyone by now, and many families were living on Planet Elf, so life there felt safe and secure.

Suddenly, there was a loud hum, and the protective array around the treehouse district of Planet Elf seemed to be under attack.

“Someone’s attacking the array!” someone shouted.

“We’re under attack! Everyone, gather up!” Zhu Jun rushed out, shouting orders.

All the interstellar warriors who had been cultivating in their treehouses quickly gathered. They assembled in an orderly manner, their movements swift and calm, knowing full well how powerful the general’s array was. They weren’t panicking—they were focused on seeing if they could fight back.

Zhu Jun and his team were assigned to check the southern area of the treehouses. Someone pointed to the sky. “Look! Over there, it’s the Beast Clan!”

Behind Zhu Jun, Lu Ke, who had been observing the attackers, gasped in shock. “It’s the Leopard Clan!”

“Is the Leopard Clan strong?” Zhu Jun asked Lu Ke. Ever since the general and his wife had left, Lu Ke had stuck with him, even moving into his treehouse. Thankfully, the space was big enough.

“They’re large in number and they tend to stick together, so they’re considered one of the more powerful Beast Clans,” Lu Ke explained.

Zhu Jun furrowed his brow. Now at the third level of Qi Refinement, he carefully observed the Leopard Clan outside.

“Should we report this to the general?” his deputy asked.

“Not just yet. The Leopards aren’t that strong, and the array is incredibly powerful. They won’t be able to break through. Let’s see if we can take them down ourselves first.”

“I remember the general once said, ‘Defence against the outside, not the inside,’” one of the interstellar warriors chimed in, recalling something General Mo had once said.

“What do you mean?” Zhu Jun looked at the warrior, who was part of General Mo’s team but had been left behind due to his late start with cultivation.

“It means that while the array defends us from external attacks, we can still attack from within.”

Zhu Jun’s eyes lit up. “So, we can attack them without them being able to hit us back?”

“Exactly!”

Without waiting for further orders, Zhu Jun immediately informed the deputy general. Since they could attack from within the array’s safety, there was no need to risk their lives outside. Before even receiving confirmation, Zhu Jun and his team had already started their offensive.

They took to the air on their own aircraft, attacking the Beast Clan outside the protective barrier. The Leopard Clan was caught completely off guard, unable to detect where the attacks were coming from. They couldn’t see their assailants inside the array.

As the Leopard Clan scattered in confusion, Zhu Jun and his team refrained from pursuing them. They weren’t foolish—they knew they were safest inside the massive barrier. Outside, without the protection, they might not fare as well against the beasts, especially with the general and his wife absent.

Lu Ke fought alongside the others, watching as the once-feared Leopards fled in panic. This stirred something within him.

The Leopard Clan had always seemed invincible to Lu Ke. Wherever they went, they dominated, turning entire areas into forbidden zones for his people. They were nothing more than prey—sacrificial offerings for the Leopards to feast on.

But now, it was clear that the Leopard Clan wasn’t as untouchable as his elders had led him to believe. They were actually quite easy to defeat!

It turns out that resistance was much simpler than he had ever imagined.

The Leopard Clan!

Lu Ke clenched his fists. He had just helped defeat the mighty Leopard Clan alongside humans. If only he could communicate with his people and show them this, he was sure they would see that they could rise up and resist as well. The Leopards weren’t invincible after all.

But unfortunately, Lu Ke was far from his home. He had left his tribe over ten years ago, fleeing a life of oppression. He had wandered through countless planets and star systems, always searching for a place where he could live without fear.

Now, he had finally found it.

Although Lu Ke was part of the Beast Clan, he had never experienced any prejudice on Planet Elf. Zhu Jun had even promised that once the general’s wife returned, he’d help him get seeds and let him build his own treehouse.

Lu Ke was overjoyed by this gesture, knowing that Zhu Jun truly accepted him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have made such a promise.

Lu Ke had always heard from his elders that humans were the most greedy and dangerous beings in the universe. But what he had seen didn’t match that narrative at all. Just like his own kind, humans had good and bad individuals. The interstellar warriors of Districts 7 and 8 were some of the best people he’d ever met. They took him in, provided him shelter, and even included him in their training.

Though Lu Ke still hadn’t sensed his Qi, he refused to give up. Although, he had thought of giving up but he noticed that none of the humans who hadn’t yet achieved Qi-sensing had given up either.

So, Lu Ke made a decision. He wouldn’t stop cultivating. If he could one day achieve Qi cultivation, his fate—and perhaps the fate of his entire race—would change. Maybe, one day, he could lead his people in overthrowing the Leopard Clan once and for all.
