Planetary Shift, Part 2
Moving a planet? Looking for a point to lever it?
That’s exactly what Ye Mo was trying to do, though she knew it was impossible to literally lever a planet. However, each planet has its own orbit and trajectory, and using that natural movement to shift them slightly was much more feasible.
For this, a formation was needed!
People in District 3 suddenly noticed that the ships transporting them had disappeared, and they all started watching the live broadcast that had been following Ye Mo.
In the footage, Mo Mo and Ye Mo were busy doing something with a few interstellar soldiers, but no one could figure out what exactly they were working on.
Ye Mo had already calculated the deviation of the garbage planet’s path. If they could shift it further south by a certain distance, the orbital speed of all the planets in Zone 3 would slow down.
“What are they doing?”
“I think the General and his wife are trying to solve the problem of gravity and planetary movement.”
“But wouldn’t that require advanced technology? They don’t seem to be using anything.”
“Does anyone know what they’re up to? It feels like a waste of time.”
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s some sort of spiritual technique?”
“I’ll just sit back and watch. Let’s see what they’re up to.”
“Hmph! Who knows how many fewer people will be saved because of this? Don’t they realize that there are still so many people in Districts 3 and 4 who need rescuing?”
“Exactly. Are they not taking the lives of people in Districts 3 and 4 seriously?”
“I have a feeling this is going to end in embarrassment.”
“Why have they stopped? Don’t they know that every hour they pause, 500 fewer people are being rescued?”
“You people are unbelievable. When they were tired, you begged them to rest. Now that they might have found a better solution, you’re complaining again. Make up your minds!”
“Right? If I were General Mo, I wouldn’t even bother with rescuing the people from Districts 3 and 4. It’s a thankless job.”
“The generals and planetary leaders of Districts 3 and 4 have already abandoned their people. Why should the General and his wife bear the burden of saving more than one billion people? Why?”
“They’re doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. The people on the brink of death have already been rescued. The rest are still alive and well and don’t even need saving.”
“Well and good? Living on a planet that’s spinning so fast, how can we be fine? We could get flung off at any moment.” The citizens of Districts 3 and 4 were panicking.
“Well, then hurry up and start training. Aren’t those who have drawn Qi into their bodies already standing up.”
“Exactly!”
“They want to change a planet’s trajectory… That sounds like a dream. I’d rather go dream about it than join this argument.”
“Is everyone really so dismissive of it?”
“Upstairs, are you very confident?”
“The beast clans attacked the Planet Elf twice, but they couldn’t even breach the defences. That’s all thanks to cultivation techniques.”
“What’s their defence made of?”
“I heard it’s a formation!”
“A formation?”
“Yeah, haven’t you heard of formations before?”
“I have, I read about them in ancient texts.”
“I saw that too!”
“Look, it seems like they’re setting up a formation!”
At that moment, everyone saw Mo Mo take out ten black orbs, handing three of them to Ye Mo. Then, the two of them shot into the sky, disappearing from view.
While they were invisible to the naked eye, the live feed continued to follow them thanks to the wrist devices they were wearing.
Up in the air, Mo Mo began instructing Ye Mo, and together they started setting up the formation.
After about an hour, Mo Mo and Ye Mo finally finished their work.
Through the live stream, everyone saw the orbs begin to hover in mid-air. Soon after, the orbs started glowing brightly, so much so that the light was almost blinding.
Then, as the dazzling light flashed, the orbit of the garbage planet visibly began to shift. Even to the naked eye, the change was apparent.
The garbage planet was now moving toward the source of the light.
More importantly, as the garbage planet moved, the planets that had been spinning at dangerously high speeds also began to slow down.
“Am I seeing this right?”
“The rotational speed really slowed down!”
“Oh my God, it actually slowed down. This means the people in District 3 don’t need to be evacuated anymore.”
“No wonder the General’s wife stopped the rescue missions. Even if they had evacuated, people would have had to return sooner or later, so it’s better that they stay.”
“Exactly! Now, where are all those people who were bad-mouthing the General and his wife? Speak up! Go on, say something!”
“Yeah, let’s see you continue to criticize them!”
As people debated and commented, those who had doubted Mo Mo and Ye Mo fell silent.
With the garbage planet slowly shifting, the gravity in District 3 changed as well. Some people, who previously couldn’t even stand, were now able to get back on their feet.
And those who had only begun to master energy cultivation techniques were now able to run and jump with ease, without the slow-motion struggles they had faced before.
Seeing that District 3 had returned to normal, Mo Mo and Ye Mo dismantled the formation. However, they did make some adjustments to the garbage planet as the planet itself was deviating from its original orbit, stabilizing its position using a formation and also the gravitational pull of nearby planets.
The problem in District 3 was finally solved. Ye Mo, along with the interstellar soldiers from Districts 7 and 8, headed directly to District 4.
The online community was in an uproar, and order in District 3 gradually returned. Meanwhile, the wife of the lord of the third main planet was fuming. She was furious at Ye Mo for showing her up like that, feeling utterly humiliated.
Clenching her fists, the star lord’s wife swore revenge. Now that Mo Mo and Ye Mo had shifted the planets in District 3, she thought perhaps she could use this as an excuse to lure them into a trap and eliminate them once and for all.
With a cold sneer, she muttered, “Ye Mo, just wait. I’ll blow you up, just like I did the Insect Clan.”
Little did Ye Mo know that by not rescuing the wife of the third planet’s governor, she had now become her target.
But even if she had known, Ye Mo wouldn’t have cared. She had already decided that she would never return to District 3.
In her eyes, the people of District 3 had proved themselves unworthy.
