Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 168

The Sacrifice, Part 1

Ye Mo was carefully observing the interstellar soldiers by the pool. Given their current state, even if they waited another ten days or half a month, they might still struggle to achieve harmony.

At that moment, Mo Mo suddenly entered the pool and said to Ye Mo, “Momo, take the kids to play. Leave this to me.”

Mo Mo intended to lend them a hand, but that would likely require removing everyone’s upper clothing. Since all of them were men, he didn’t want his wife to see their bodies, so he had to send her away.

Ye Mo obediently took the six little ones and left, heading back to their treehouse. She then transported them directly to her space.

Now, Guaiguai was off playing with Beibei and the others, while Baobao and Niuniu dove into the Yin-Yang Pool to train, as they were close to transcending.

Ye Mo thought for a moment; she couldn’t let the kids undergo tribulation on Planet Elf, as the lightning would destroy the treehouse.

She instantly teleported outside of Planet Elf, aiming for the nearby beast clan planets.

She went invisibly, not wanting to be captured on the live stream. Although the Fisherman platform had revoked their streaming rights, there were still a few cameras on Planet Elf, and if they caught sight of her, they would follow her.

As she approached the beast clan planets, she noticed something unusual: the beast clans were gathering, although they hadn’t made it clear where they were heading.

But Ye Mo knew they were planning to attack Planet Elf. Unfortunately, the entire Planet Elf was protected by a formation, making it impossible for even a large number of beast clans to break through.

Meanwhile, Niuniu had begun to prepare for her tribulation, and fortunately, Guaiguai had moved Baobao a bit further away. Otherwise, Niuniu might have inadvertently interrupted him.

Dark clouds started gathering above Niuniu as she prepared for her tribulation. Since Ye Mo was right in the midst of the beast clans, the clouds began to form ominously above their heads, causing panic among them.

“What’s happening?”

“Is this some kind of divine punishment?”

“What did we do wrong to deserve this?”

Some clever ones began to flee from the area enveloped by the dark clouds, while a beast clan leader shouted, “Everyone, don’t scatter! Gather together quickly!”

However, the pressure from the dark clouds was too overwhelming, even for the leader.

Still, he continued to yell, “Don’t run! We need to lure this phenomenon to a human planet!”

His shouts were surprisingly effective, as several beast clan members fled from under the dark clouds, speeding toward Planet Elf. They were moving quickly, but the clouds didn’t follow them.

After they fled, it was clear they weren’t keen on returning. They stood far away, watching the clouds grow ever larger, now moving toward their home planet.

Initially, Ye Mo had no intention of destroying their home, but the leader’s words had irked her. Since they had such intentions, her thoughts were merely borrowing from their own.

With narrowed eyes, Ye Mo approached the nearest planet. This wasn’t a notion she had first; it was the beast clans that had initiated it, and she couldn’t be blamed. Now that the beast clans had dispersed, her plan to let them bear the lightning was no longer viable, so let the planets they inhabited take the brunt of it. The beast clans looked formidable enough to cross over to other planets.

Strangely, Ye Mo hadn’t detected any signs of cultivation from them, yet they could fly in mid-air. Where did this power come from?

As she neared the planet, she saw that the largest structure was actually the altar.

Could their power be related to sacrifices?

Could the so-called Beast God be the source of their strength?

Unexpectedly, Ye Mo guessed correctly; the ability of these beast clans to fly was indeed granted by the Beast God, provided they showed enough piousness. Otherwise, they wouldn’t gain such powerful abilities.

Ye Mo landed on the sacrificial altar, and the oppressive force of the dark clouds descended upon it. This was the largest altar on the planet.

The appearance of the dark clouds frightened the beast clan leader.

“Please, don’t approach! Our great Beast God is here; don’t harm it!”

Ye Mo narrowed her eyes. The Beast God was at this altar? She scrutinized the area, looking closely, but found nothing.

There was no hidden power within; however, as the dark clouds enveloped the altar, it seemed to undergo subtle changes.

Ye Mo detected a faint metallic (blood) scent in the air.

At that moment, the butler looked outside, puzzled. “Young master, look at those small trenches beneath us; they seem a bit red and smell odd. Could it be that there is blood flowing there?”

Ye Mo observed carefully, and indeed, the trenches had been stained with blood from past sacrifices. She hadn’t realized how sinister this altar was.

Moreover, she could distinctly tell that the blood previously spilled here belonged to humans, as human blood had a completely different scent from that of the beast clans.

Ye Mo furrowed her brow. How many humans had these beast clans sacrificed here? Where had they captured them? Was it from the battlefield?

She couldn’t comprehend whether the sacrificed humans had come from the battlefield. If they had, those soldiers must have suffered immensely. After all, being captured by the enemy was bad enough, but to end up on the sacrificial altar as offerings for the beast clans’ pursuit of power? They surely had endured great agony.

Ye Mo clenched her fists. The beast clans had gone too far; now, she felt justified in whatever actions she might take. After all, she had never considered sacrificing the beast clans.

Standing on the altar, the energy from the dark clouds became overwhelmingly powerful, even forming a massive vortex beneath her feet.

These cyclones filled the trenches as if in an instant, causing the entire altar to glow. At that moment, Ye Mo felt a strong, unfamiliar power entering her body.

Her body didn’t reject this immense power; in fact, it was absorbed swiftly, showing no signs of resistance.
