Jealousy
To be honest, all of these guys are good guys who have been under Mo Mo’s command for a long time and have grown quite adept at navigating tricky situations. But if you really asked them to pursue Aunt Yu, the truth was, none of them had the guts. Becoming the general’s uncle-in-law sounded nice in theory, but in practice, it was far too difficult to do.
Back on Planet Elf, Ye Mo was filled with joy for her aunt. The six little ones also adored their grandaunt and each prepared a gift for her.
Recently, Ye Mo’s family, having no urgent need to improve their cultivation, had started learning various other skills, like forging weapons, alchemy, talisman-making, and setting up formations.
Mo Mo focused on learning formations, while Ye Mo delved into alchemy. As for the children, Guaiguai, who had lightning-based abilities, learned both formations and talisman-making, showing remarkable talent, especially in creating thunder talismans, which became a hit at home. He also created a powerful explosion talisman that Yan Mingke found incredibly useful.
There was no denying that Guaiguai was exceptionally gifted.
Baobao and Niuniu, both having wind-based abilities, decided to study formations and talismans too. Wind-based talismans, which could increase speed, were a favourite among warriors.
Beibei, who had fire-based abilities, chose to focus on weapon forging. Meanwhile, Yueyue and Qianqian went with alchemy, guided by Ye Mo. The pills they made were more than enough to supply the entire army.
Though Beibei didn’t have a personal tutor for weapon forging, he made great progress through self-study. After all, he had the family’s butler as a living database, which really helped Beibei a lot.
While Beibei’s weapons were not of the highest grade yet, they were still good enough for the interstellar warriors to use.
Now, those who joined Mo Mo’s forces were known as the Mo Family Army. Even Yan Mingke had become a general under Mo Mo’s command. At first, people were worried he might not feel comfortable, but it turned out he was quite at ease. Given how well he knew the Mo family, he often got his hands on the best talismans, pills, and weapons.
Besides Yan Mingke, Zhu Jun, and Lan Feng, among others, were also close with the six children and often managed to snag some good items from them. Of course, they reciprocated, often bringing gifts for the kids too, everyone gives and takes.
Ye Mo had returned to Planet Elf with her aunt, thinking her aunt wouldn’t want a wedding since, in the interstellar world, weddings were rare. But once they got back, Jiu Yue started making plans. He gathered a variety of fruits, had robotic chefs prepare large quantities of juice, and Ye Mo provided plenty of cakes.
Fifteen days after returning to Planet Elf, Aunt Yu and Jiu Yee held a wedding. Though some people were still in District Eight fighting the insectoids, there were plenty of people left on Planet Elf, and whether they knew the couple or not, everyone attended. The atmosphere was lively and festive.
The six children, though now quite advanced in their cultivation, obediently acted as flower children. The role felt a bit beneath them, given their high status, but everyone respectfully called them “young masters,” and no one dared to tease them, much to Guaiguai’s relief.
He had seen how weddings in the mortal world could get rowdy, and he wasn’t a fan of that chaos. But since Aunt Yu was Ye Mo’s aunt, the teasing was kept to a minimum. Jiu Yue, however, wasn’t so lucky—he drank quite a bit.
Ye Mo didn’t stop anyone from drinking since everyone was enjoying themselves, and after all, it was her aunt’s wedding. Ye Mo even uploaded parts of the wedding to her social media page.
As soon as it went live, interstellar netizens were abuzz:
“Whose wedding is this?”
“It looks so lively!”
“Those fruits are making my mouth water.”
“Is that cake on the side?”
“Oh my, I’m so jealous of whoever’s getting married!”
“Who’s getting married?”
“Best wishes! Best wishes!”
Ye Mo didn’t post any photos of her aunt or Jiu Yue, worried about unwanted attention, but thankfully, the comments were all positive, and no one said anything inappropriate.
“I bet it’s someone really close to the lady.”
“Who could it be?”
Meanwhile, Grandma Yu noticed the photos and felt a pang in her heart. If only she hadn’t made those mistakes, would she have been at the wedding too?
Out of curiosity, she checked her daughter’s page and saw Aunt Yu’s post of wedding candies. That’s when it hit her: This is her daughter’s wedding! And she hadn’t been invited. Grandma Yu was heartbroken, but what could she do? It was her own choice that led to this.
While Ye Mo only posted parts of the wedding, Jiu Yue uploaded photos of himself and Aunt Yu. Aunt Yu looked stunning, not at all like someone in her thirties. She could easily be mistaken for Ye Mo’s sister.
Because of her cultivation, where she is now a cultivator in the middle stage of foundation building, and the nourishment she received from Ye Mo, Aunt Yu was breathtakingly beautiful. The photos struck a nerve with both Fang Dawei and Yu Fengqi. Fang Dawei was Aunt Yu’s ex-husband, so it was normal for him to feel bitter, but Yu Fengqi was Aunt Yu’s brother and his thoughts were a bit dangerous.
In his mind, his sister should never be more successful than him. Knowing she had several hundred million in savings and a much younger partner was too much for him to handle.
Meanwhile, Yuan Lili was seething with envy!
As for Yu He, she didn’t share her parents’ jealousy. She regretted not being closer to Aunt Yu. Perhaps if she had been, she might’ve been able to strengthen her connection to Ye Mo and possibly improve her strained relationship with her.
Lately, Yu He had been frequently summoned by Qin Lin, who was teaching her ghost cultivation. However, despite nearly two weeks of training, Yu He seemed hopeless at it, frustrating Qin Lin. Still, he was determined to take her to the Dark Realm. Some of his subordinates had already succeeded in ghost cultivation, albeit through rather cruel methods, but once they transitioned, they adapted well and didn’t regret it. After all, they were becoming more powerful by the day.
Qin Lin’s gaze on Yu He grew more intense. Once she fully transitioned, she would have to live in hiding, away from prying eyes. Her parents would likely cause a commotion, so perhaps sending them back to District Eight to care for Grandma Yu might avoid unnecessary trouble.
