Cooperation, Part 2
Ye Mo was stunned by this question. General Mo didn’t seem like someone who paid attention to such details. So why did he suddenly ask about her stomach?
“It’s fine! It’s fine!” she replied.
“That’s good,” he responded. If he hadn’t felt anything before, today’s close proximity to Ye Mo gave General Mo a slight sense that the little one inside her was indeed his child.
Although General Mo was quite excited, he quickly composed himself. He couldn’t afford to reveal anything in front of Ye Mo. Since they hadn’t developed any deep emotional connection yet, it was better to keep certain things hidden until she had no choice but to stay. That way, his chances of being forgiven would be much higher.
One couldn’t deny that General Mo was calculating how to safely reunite with his wife and child. He never imagined that the girl he once had a connection with would turn out to be a transcendent plant master.
But now that he was sure of her multiple identities, he was even less likely to let her go. He couldn’t allow her to be in any danger.
Seeing General Mo lost in thought, Ye Mo spoke up directly, “General Mo, I suggest you don’t rush to increase your genetic health to 100%.”
“Why not?” General Mo sat up straight. He had been considering whether to improve his genetic health to 100% as well.
Ye Mo thought for a moment, carefully choosing her words, “I sense a powerful force within you. If you increase your genetic health too quickly, it might release that force, and who knows what could happen? So, it’s best to be prepared before taking that step.”
General Mo narrowed his eyes slightly upon hearing this. This girl knew more than he did. After all, only he had some suspicion about the hidden power within him, yet she could directly point it out. This indicated that she was more skilled than he was.
“Alright, I’ll be careful,” General Mo agreed without further argument. He glanced at the time; they had been here for quite a while. It was time to take her home.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you back,” General Mo said, standing up.
As Ye Mo walked outside and was about to get into her own flying vehicle, General Mo stopped her. “Come on, I’ll take you home!”
Ye Mo was a bit embarrassed to refuse, so she got into General Mo’s ship. Neither of them noticed that about a thousand meters away, a flying vehicle was parked, and someone inside was taking pictures. These photos were quickly sent to someone’s wrist communicator.
The person who took the pictures wasn’t a private detective but more like a paparazzi from the 21st century. He sent what he had seen to his editor-in-chief, who would edit and publish the photos on the interstellar network. As long as the clicks were high, it meant their story was successful.
This time, they were sure to succeed because they had captured clear images of General Mo and Ye Mo together. Fortunately, Ye Mo was wearing sunglasses and makeup, so people might not recognize her, but everyone would definitely recognize General Mo.
In the eyes of the paparazzi, Ye Mo herself wasn’t important. What mattered was General Mo, a figure of great interest throughout the galaxy. Nearly half of the young women in the galaxy were interested in him, so any news about him would go viral. And this time, the fact that General Mo had invited a woman onto his flying vehicle was huge news.
Ye Mo had no idea that because of General Mo, she had just gained some enemies. When they reached her house, she put on another layer of clothing over her outfit. After thanking General Mo, she went straight inside. It was only when she reached her room that she realized something: How did General Mo know where she lived? She thought she had hidden it well, but how had it been exposed?
Before she could think too much about it, the butler came to inform her that lunch was ready.
Ye Mo changed her clothes, washed the makeup off her face, and then headed to the dining room.
During lunch, Aunt Yu suddenly exclaimed, “General Mo has a girlfriend! And she’s from our Kamo star!”
Ye Mo was so frightened that she snapped to consciousness. She looked at the news Aunt Yu was reading and noticed something—it was clearly her in the photos.
However, Aunt Yu didn’t recognize her and was simply commenting, “What’s going on? Why is the woman so blurry? She looks clear from afar, but the closer the camera gets, the harder it is to see her face.”
Hearing Aunt Yu’s remark, Ye Mo smiled. That was her disguise, a little spell she had cast to avoid being captured clearly in photos. The closer someone got, the harder it was to see her face.
Relieved, Ye Mo finished her lunch in peace. General Mo, on the other hand, discovered the news in the afternoon only after receiving a call from his family questioning him.
To be honest, if General Mo hadn’t received that call, he might have thought he was a discarded pawn. In fact, he was essentially abandoned by his family, given that his fertility value was originally only eight points. His family never nurtured him, and his achievements were entirely due to his own efforts.
Thus, General Mo’s relationship with the Mo family wasn’t very harmonious. So, when his father called to question him, General Mo coldly replied, “I’ll take responsibility for my own affairs, Father. You don’t need to worry.”
“I’m your father, and your marriage is not something you can decide on your own,” his father tried to say something else.
General Mo cut him off, “You didn’t appear when I was growing up, so there’s no need for you to appear now. What you say might matter to others, but it means nothing to me. I moved my household registration out of the Mo family a long time ago.”
Children with low fertility values were considered a disgrace to the Mo family, so those with fertility values below ten had to move out before they turned five. General Mo’s household registration was now in the eighth district, within his own jurisdiction, so no one could control him.
After all, the Mo family never acknowledged him, so he wouldn’t acknowledge them. There had never been any indication that General Mo had anything to do with the Mo family on Star One.
Even to his biological father, General Mo felt nothing. After all, he had been on his own since the age of five, and even before that, he had been left to fend for himself within the family. So he truly felt no attachment.
