Entering the House
Mo’s father never expected that his son would speak to him in such a manner. Typically, family members who had been cast aside by the family would eagerly return to its fold as soon as the family extended an olive branch. Ever since Mo Mo became the General of Zone Eight, it was impossible for the Mo family not to regret their past decision. However, the Mo family held themselves in high regard, waiting for Mo Mo to come to them first to acknowledge their relationship. But was that ever likely?
Though Mo Mo was born into the Mo family, he was not their lapdog. They had abandoned him, and he had no habit of grovelling back.
Mo Mo harboured no affection for the Mo family.
“Mo Mo, I am your father!”
“I know, but in the interstellar world, since the Mo family has already discarded me, it means there’s no connection or relationship between us. I hope Mr. Mo can restrain himself and refrain from trying to claim kinship,” Mo Mo’s tone was icy cold.
“Mo Mo, blood ties cannot be severed. The family has already arranged a marriage with a royal princess for you. Don’t make a decision you’ll regret for the rest of your life.”
“Ridiculous! I am no longer a member of the Mo family. What gives you the right to arrange my marriage? Who granted you this power? Your delusions?” Mo Mo sneered and hung up the phone.
The Mo family could sit comfortably before, but why can’t they now? The root cause lies in the existence of the Transcendent Plant Master, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately for them, the Mo family will never benefit from his little girl in this lifetime because he won’t allow it!
Mo Mo narrowed his eyes slightly. The Mo family had better not do anything rash; otherwise, they would regret it deeply.
Mo Mo still remained quietly near Ye Mo’s house; he hadn’t left at all. The dual identities of Ye Mo—a pregnant woman and a Transcendent Plant Master—had frightened him. He couldn’t guarantee that something wouldn’t happen to Ye Mo if she left his sight.
Whether as a pregnant woman or as a Transcendent Plant Master, both identities were too dangerous, and now there’s the added danger of her being his woman.
There are too many people who want to find his weakness. He had none before, but now he does.
His weakness is his wife and child!
However, it seemed his wife didn’t recognize him!
Mo Mo was now sitting in a common-type aircraft, so he didn’t have to worry about attracting any attention.
Inside the villa, Ye Mo was still unaware that Mo Mo hadn’t left and was still lingering near her home.
She was currently pondering how to navigate the days ahead. To be honest, she really wanted to take an interstellar trip, but with her current status…
Ye Mo was worried that if she dared to go out, she might be captured. If there were only a few people, she might be able to escape, but if there were many, combined with starships and whatnot, she would really be powerless.
However, she was relieved to have formed a partnership with Mo Mo. That guy would surely protect her.
Thinking of this, Ye Mo quickly scanned the surroundings of her villa. Although her scan was brief, it was enough for her to spot Mo Mo.
He hadn’t left?
Ye Mo was a bit surprised. She called the butler over and asked him to discreetly invite Mo Mo inside.
Mo Mo, however, entered directly from the rooftop. Since Ye Mo lived on the top floor, it was convenient for him to drop down from there without alarming her grandmother and aunt, and it made it easier to meet Ye Mo.
The rooftop was a large garden. Ye Mo met him there, and Mo Mo was stunned by the sight. “This place…”
“Oh, this is something my mother left behind. It was probably originally cultivated by my grandfather and grandmother,” Ye Mo explained.
“I’ve heard stories about this. I hope I’m not intruding by being here?” Mo Mo looked at Ye Mo gently.
“Don’t worry, you’re not,” Ye Mo replied as she brought out two plates of snacks and two cups of milk tea, placing one set in front of Mo Mo. “Have a taste.”
Mo Mo usually only consumed nutrient solutions, and his appetite wasn’t particularly strong, but the food in front of him smelled delicious.
Seeing Ye Mo enjoying her food, Mo Mo also picked up a snack and tried it. The sweet flavour that filled his mouth instantly captivated him. He had never considered himself a gourmand, but the pastries and milk tea in front of him had certainly won him over.
“What is this…?” he asked as he sipped the milk tea, looking at Ye Mo inquisitively.
“This is milk tea. Yours is pineapple-flavoured, and mine is cantaloupe-flavoured,” Ye Mo said with a smile.
“So, this is what pineapple tastes like?” Mo Mo asked, enjoying the sweet and tangy flavour, which he surprisingly liked.
Ye Mo glanced into her space storage and quickly found cantaloupe and pineapple. She had the cooking robot in her space prepare them, slicing them neatly onto a plate before presenting them to Mo Mo. “These are just ordinary fruits, General Mo. Give them a try.”
Mo Mo tasted both the pineapple and cantaloupe with a fork, remarking, “How did the interstellar world manage to lose the most precious things our ancestors left us?”
“Laziness!” Ye Mo chuckled, summing it up in a word. The convenience of nutrient solutions has gradually made eating food obsolete.
“There’s some truth to that, though the development of the interstellar world played a part as well. During a certain period, a lot of plants were destroyed, leading to the extinction of many species,” Mo Mo added, showing some knowledge of history.
The two chatted about everything under the sun, feeling a bit like kindred spirits. By the end of their conversation, General Mo was reluctant to leave, but he had to return to his camp that evening as there were many matters requiring his attention.
Ye Mo gave Mo Mo permission to enter her home whenever he liked, which made Mo Mo quite happy. He also learned that Ye Mo lived on the third floor, though only one room was currently in use. The other room had been her mother’s.
After some thought, Ye Mo realized there was still a storage room on the third floor. She instructed the butler to tidy it up, turning it into a resting space for Mo Mo.
To be honest, whether it was Granny Yu or Aunt Yu, both were very disciplined. They lived on the first floor and rarely ventured upstairs. Even if something came up, they would simply ask the butler to notify Ye Mo.
So, Mo Mo did not need to worry about being discovered while staying on the third floor.
Although the butler wasn’t thrilled about having a man stay in the house, he could sense a faint connection between Ye Mo and Mo Mo. Thus, the butler automatically assumed Mo Mo was the father of the child Ye Mo was carrying.
Mo Mo was ecstatic. Even though Ye Mo didn’t allow him to go downstairs and disturb Granny Yu and Aunt Yu, he was content with the fact that he had been granted access to her home.
Entering the house—this was the first step!
