Preparations
The man standing next to Grandma Yu trembled with fear, his legs shaking uncontrollably because the person who had just spoken was not him.
“Aren’t you very fond of Ye Mo? Compared to Yu Fengqi, isn’t she more filial to you?”
“She used to be very devoted to Fengqi. Why doesn’t she care about him now?” Grandma Yu clenched her fists. In her mind, whether it was Yu Fengqi or Ye Mo, they were both her descendants. Initially, she thought Ye Mo was too weak, so she favoured her. But now, compared to Ye Mo, Yu Fengqi seemed weaker, so her feelings shifted toward him.
Moreover, she had become dazzled by wealth and luxury, leading to the current situation.
At that moment, Mo Mo revealed himself, cancelling his invisibility. He stood directly in front of Grandma Yu, who was stunned when she saw him. The man beside her collapsed to the floor in fear.
“Momo says that the villa can still be your home, but you shouldn’t covet things that aren’t yours,” Mo Mo stated firmly, then left the villa. He needed to take the butler and the cook with him, as Aunt had mentioned that these people had served Ye Mo with dedication and had always acted in her best interests.
Mo Mo rushed to Ye Mo’s villa and explained the situation to the butler, who immediately agreed. As for the villa, the butler arranged for his successor to manage it, as this was the old master’s domain, and he couldn’t just hand it over to anyone.
And so, Mo Mo took the butler, the cook, the nanny robots, and the medical robots with him, leaving only one butler, one cook, and one nanny behind in the villa. This was more than sufficient, as only Grandma Yu remained in the villa.
When Grandma Yu returned, she found that neither her daughter nor her granddaughter was home, and even the household staff had changed.
Grandma Yu felt incredibly wronged. Why were they treating her this way? Why had they abandoned her? Why did it have to be like this? Clearly, it was their fault—why were they blaming her?
Grandma Yu couldn’t understand, but she knew she was truly abandoned now. Although meals were still provided for her, something had changed. The food was no longer as refined as it used to be; it felt more like they were just keeping her alive.
Ye Mo had never intended to treat her grandmother this way, but the butler, feeling disgruntled, had made these arrangements.
He knew everything that needed to be known about the family, and Mo Mo had told him the reasons for their departure. Of course, there was also the possibility that Mo Mo had done so intentionally.
After arriving with the butler and the others, Mo Mo immediately set them to work. He planned to discuss the fruit situation in the valley with Ye Mo, but she told him to talk to her aunt instead. She had decided to give the fruits in the valley to her aunt.
Aunt Yu was initially a bit hesitant to accept the fruits from Ye Mo, but when Mo Mo approached her about it, she made up her mind. Since Ye Mo said she didn’t want the fruits, Aunt Yu and General Mo would split them equally.
Ye Mo didn’t concern herself with the two of them. Right now, she just wanted to focus on her pregnancy. With her belly growing so large, Ye Mo had a feeling that her baby might arrive earlier than expected. This thought stemmed from her concerns about the vitality water she had been using.
Ye Mo was conflicted—should she induce labour early? And if she did, what would she feed the baby? It was well-known that women in the interstellar age no longer breastfed. With everyone consuming nutrient solutions daily, having milk to breastfeed would be quite strange.
Babies were fed nutrient solutions from birth, but Ye Mo wasn’t keen on giving her child those.
Determined to find something suitable for her baby, Ye Mo entered her personal space to search for food. Fortunately, she had gathered many items from the mortal world, including powdered milk for infants, conveniently categorized by age groups. After examining it closely, she found that it was suitable from birth up to two or three years old. The only concern was whether she had enough.
After some thought, Ye Mo also explored the resources from the cultivation world. To her surprise, she discovered the seeds of a fruit called “milk melon.” Despite its name, Ye Mo had no idea what it looked like.
She took the seeds and planted them in a recently cleared plot of fertile black soil. Initially, she expected the plant to grow like a vine, but after watering it with vitality water, it turned into a large tree. The fruits it bore were milk-white and resembled melons, with thin skins and filled with creamy liquid inside.
Ye Mo tasted it and found it sweet and delicious—perfect for her child. She instructed the nanny robots to carefully harvest and store the milk melons and to continue planting more once the supply ran low.
Ye Mo decided to drink some of the juice herself, finding it quite tasty.
After finishing these tasks, Ye Mo exited her space. Mo Mo and Aunt Yu were still busy picking fruits. Knowing that Ye Mo didn’t want to reveal her identity as a master, Mo Mo joined Aunt Yu in collecting the fruits, assisted by a group of robots.
They handled the fruit trees with care, ensuring no branches were damaged.
Mo Mo was a bit puzzled, though. Why did the soil around these trees seem so fresh, as if the trees had just been transplanted? He suspected that Ye Mo might have done something, but he couldn’t figure out exactly what.
Unbeknownst to Mo Mo and the others, the fruit trees had been producing multiple harvests, and they had never experienced the natural process of fruit ripening and falling.
Watching them busy at work, Ye Mo decided not to disturb them. She wandered around the valley and soon discovered a plot of medicinal herbs growing there. It was a patch of ginseng, a valuable plant she had read about after acquiring some from mortal-world warehouses.
After considering her options, Ye Mo dug up a large section of the ginseng and had the nanny robots in her space plant it. You never know when it might come in handy.
As for the other medicinal herbs, Ye Mo didn’t recognize them, but she decided to have a robot manage them. These robots learned quickly, and she had plenty of books on managing medicinal herbs.
Ye Mo summoned the butler and explained her requirements. The butler quickly got to work.
Ever since the flowers in the villa’s garden were cleared away, the robot had seemed a bit off. But with so many plants to tend to now, the butler’s old enthusiasm returned, and the robot became much more active.
The butler really liked it here. He even purchased ten additional nanny robots, assigning five to specialize in maintaining the valley and the other five to study various specialized tasks.
Ye Mo brought out books on managing medicinal herbs, vegetables, grains, and fruit trees, instructing the butler to have the robots study them systematically.
At that moment, a thought crossed Ye Mo’s mind. With these robots’ incredible learning abilities, would they eventually replace humans?
