Preparing for Departure (Part 2)
This time, Ye Mo planned to take the butler with her. When the butler was around, everything just seemed easier. She intended to leave the management of the entire space to him. Although she wasn’t going to tell anyone else about the existence of the space—except for Mo Mo—she didn’t consider the butler as an outsider.
The journey to the Main Star No.1 was going to be long, and during the trip, she planned to keep the six children inside the space. Leaving them outside, even with her by their side, made her uneasy. So, she needed someone reliable in the space, and the butler was her most trusted ally. He had no personal agenda and cared only for her well-being.
Ye Mo called the butler aside and told him about her decision to take him along. The butler was overjoyed. “Master, I am willing to follow you anywhere, as long as you are willing to take me!”
The butler had a deep affection for Ye Mo, and he was truly moved. After all, Aunt Yu had expressed her wish to go with Ye Mo but was declined. The butler thought Ye Mo would reject him as well. To his surprise, she wanted him by her side.
“Master, don’t worry. I will make sure everything in the valley is well taken care of.”
The butler quickly set about his tasks, transferring the villa’s robotic butler to the valley and assigning a new one to the villa. After all, it was unlikely anyone would live there again in the future.
Since the garden at the villa had been cleared, the butler no longer felt it was truly a home. Though there were still a few flowers left on the top floor, their presence was too small to make a difference. The butler now considered the valley as their home, so it was only fitting that he assigned someone he trusted to take care of it.
There wasn’t much attachment left to the villa anyway. Ever since its location had been exposed, it had lost its sense of security. The butler reported that even though no one lived there anymore, people still showed up every day, disturbing the peace.
The villa’s butler soon arrived at the valley, and in a way, it was a promotion for him. After all, he had been trained by the old butler, and the old butler trusted him deeply.
Normally, robots don’t have ulterior motives, so this arrangement felt perfect.
Once everything in the valley was organized, the new butler and Aunt Yu got along well, putting Ye Mo at ease. She then sent the old butler into the space and taught him how to manage everything inside.
The butler was amazed when he saw the vastness of the space, especially when he noticed the farm simulation game.
Being a clever robot, the butler somehow managed to connect the space’s main system to the external network, effectively becoming the system administrator of Ye Mo’s space.
The butler loved the space, and with his help, Ye Mo found that her workload had significantly reduced.
She also tasked him with sorting through the items from the cultivation world, hoping to find something that could help the children with their current condition. It would be best if they could start using it right away.
Although Ye Mo herself didn’t fully understand how to use all those items, the butler, ever since becoming the system administrator, seemed to have unlocked new abilities. He quickly deciphered everything they had brought from the cultivation world.
Aware of the children’s situation, the butler began searching through the warehouse and soon found six jade pendants in a box. All six pendants had the same function: they could conceal the children’s unique constitutions and also had a calming effect.
The calming effect shouldn’t be underestimated. If Guai Guai could maintain a calm state of mind, the energy in his body wouldn’t leak out so violently.
The butler handed the jade pendants to Ye Mo and explained their purpose.
“Master, you’ll need to bind them to the children with a drop of their blood.”
“Blood binding?” Ye Mo’s heart skipped a beat. She was a little reluctant to prick the children’s fingers.
“Yes, Master. This calming effect will prevent the energy in their bodies from leaking out so easily.”
“Alright, I’ll do it immediately,” Ye Mo agreed, knowing it was for their own good.
She took the jade pendants and went to where the children were sleeping. Picking up Guai Guai, she carried him outside. Startled, Guai Guai stirred briefly but, recognizing her scent, snuggled into her arms and fell back to sleep.
The complete trust the children had in her made Ye Mo feel deeply touched. She carried Guai Guai to the next room and gently pricked his finger to begin the blood-binding process.
Guai Guai burst into tears, and Ye Mo held him tightly. “Don’t cry, Guai Guai. This pendant will protect you, it’s all for you.”
Fortunately, Mo Mo had suppressed the energy in Guai Guai’s body. Otherwise, Ye Mo might not have been able to control him, as the little one had grown quite strong and was almost wriggling out of her arms.
The pendant vanished into Guai Guai’s hand and was absorbed into his dantian.
Seeing the jade pendant settle peacefully inside him, Ye Mo noticed how quickly Guai Guai calmed down.
This calming effect was truly powerful!
Guai Guai looked up at her with his large, teary eyes. Ye Mo pressed her cheek to his and whispered, “This little thing will protect you, Guai Guai. It will make sure you don’t feel so uncomfortable anymore.”
“Ah yiya!” Guai Guai babbled, blowing a tiny bubble in the process.
Ye Mo kissed his cheek. “My brave little Guai Guai!”
Guai Guai loved being this close to his mother and giggled happily.
At that moment, Mo Mo reappeared via teleportation. Watching the interaction between mother and son, he felt warmth fill his heart.
“Did Guai Guai cry earlier?” Mo Mo asked, concerned, sensing some agitation in the energy he had suppressed in Guai Guai’s body. That was why he had hurried back.
“It’s because of this.” Ye Mo showed him the jade pendant the butler had found. “It hides their special constitution and helps calm them.”
Mo Mo examined the pendant. “This is excellent!”
“Yes, but it requires blood binding. Guai Guai cried because I pricked his finger,” Ye Mo said, although Guai Guai’s finger no longer bore any trace of the needle, as she had already healed it with the vitality water.
Mo looked at the remaining five pendants. “So these are for the others?” Already, he was feeling the heartache at the thought of pricking the other children.
Ye Mo nodded. By now, Guai Guai had fallen asleep again. The pendant’s calming effect was so strong that even his previously furrowed brow had relaxed.
After settling Guai Guai down, Ye Mo and Mo Mo brought Bao Bao and Bei Bei over. Without any discussion, they decided to save the three girls for last.
When Bao Bao and Bei Bei had their fingers pricked, neither reacted as strongly as Guai Guai had. Baobao cried for just a moment before recognizing her mother and calming down. Bei Bei, on the other hand, wailed for a while in Mo Mo’s arms.
But once the jade pendants settled into their bodies, both became peaceful again.
