Preparing to Depart (Part 4)
Ye Mo sighed. “Auntie, I’ll transfer some star coins to you. If Grandma really needs them, you can give them to her. There’s about 100 million start coins in that box.”
After speaking, Ye Mo transferred 1 billion star coins to her aunt.
Her aunt’s eyes widened in shock. “Why so much?”
Ye Mo smiled. “Auntie, I’ve been keeping a secret. Actually, I’m the transcendent plant master. After I woke up from that coma last time, I gained this ability. But I didn’t know how to tell you all, so I kept it to myself.”
“Mo’er, you didn’t have to tell me.” Her aunt sighed deeply. At least now, some things made sense.
“Auntie, I didn’t want to keep it from you. If Grandma hadn’t changed so much, she would’ve known too.”
“Please, don’t ever tell her!” Her aunt immediately tensed up. “Let’s leave it at that. No one else needs to know.”
“Alright, I only trust you with this, Auntie.” Ye Mo smiled, grateful that her aunt hadn’t changed. Even after learning her true identity, her aunt remained the same person.
“Mo’er, you don’t have to give me so many star coins. I’m already making good money from the valley.”
“Auntie, what you earn is your own. This is just my way of showing filial piety. You know I won’t ever run out of star coins.”
Seeing there was no way to refuse, her aunt didn’t argue further. However, something else crossed her mind. “Mo’er, even when you get to Main Star One, if you want to sell your fruits, don’t sell them directly from there. It’s best to route them through me.”
Ye Mo chuckled. “Don’t worry, Auntie. I won’t let anyone trace them back to me.”
As they were flying through the wilderness, Ye Mo noticed something. “Someone’s following us!” she alerted her aunt.
Upon hearing this, her aunt immediately changed direction, veering away from their planned route, flying in circles over the residential areas of Kamo Star.
Using her divine senses, Ye Mo detected the tailing party—it was Zhang Yuming. He must have followed them from Grandma’s house, and she hadn’t noticed earlier.
“Do you know who it is?” her aunt asked.
“It’s Zhang Yuming.”
“Zhang Yuming? What does he want?”
“He’s probably trying to find out where the children are.”
“By now, he must have guessed you’re the General’s wife.” Her aunt frowned, wondering what Zhang Yuming was planning.
“That’s exactly why he’s following me—to get closer. After all, manipulating the wife of a General would be quite the accomplishment.” Ye Mo scoffed, thinking about how Yu He wouldn’t give up easily. Zhang Yuming had always been her loyal lackey, so this was likely her doing.
Her aunt snorted. “Zhang Yuming is definitely doing this under Yu He’s orders.”
“Auntie, take us somewhere isolated. I’ll teach him a lesson.” Ye Mo was no longer afraid of Zhang Yuming. Why would she be?
Her aunt, knowing her niece’s capabilities, quickly steered the aircraft toward a remote area. Zhang Yuming followed closely behind.
After landing, both Ye Mo and her aunt stepped out of the aircraft. Zhang Yuming, too, landed his craft and stepped out. His aircraft had originally been a gift from Yu He, though it was a discarded model from Prince Caser’s household. Still, it worked well enough.
“Ye Mo!” Zhang Yuming called as he approached her, but her aunt stepped between them. “Zhang Yuming, don’t come near my niece.”
“Auntie, whatever happens between Mo’er and me is none of your business,” Zhang Yuming said, attempting to maintain a composed demeanour as he looked at Ye Mo. “Mo’er, are we really this distant now?”
“Zhang Yuming, stop pretending. There’s nothing between us. But I must say, your loyalty to Yu He is impressive. Even though she’s married to Prince Caser, you’re still her devoted lapdog.” Ye Mo smiled mockingly, finding his behaviour repulsive.
“Mo’er, how can you say that? Yu He and I grew up together…” Zhang Yuming stammered, clearly flustered by her words.
Ye Mo burst out laughing but quickly turned cold. “Zhang Yuming, before I lose my temper, you’d better leave. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I’ll do.”
At that moment, two other aircraft approached. Zhang Yuming grinned. “Ye Mo, even if you want to leave now, it’s too late.”
“Zhang Yuming, I’m the General’s wife. Do you have any idea of the consequences of harming me?” Ye Mo smiled, then calmly dialed Mo Mo’s number. “Honey, someone’s trying to kidnap me.”
Mo Mo responded instantly. “I’ll be there right away!”
Hearing Mo Mo’s voice, Zhang Yuming’s face turned pale. As six burly men stepped out of the two aircraft behind him, one of them asked Zhang Yuming, “Is this the person we’re supposed to take down?”
Before Zhang Yuming could answer, Mo Mo had already appeared beside Ye Mo.
Zhang Yuming’s heart sank. He had been gambling on the idea that Ye Mo wasn’t really the General’s wife and that she still had feelings for him. But now, the reality left him devastated.
The six men behind Zhang Yuming, unaware of who Mo Mo is yet, gathered together. “Is this the girl we’re supposed to capture? Don’t worry, those three won’t be a problem for us. We’ll have them in no time.”
One of the men charged at Mo Mo, but before he got close, Mo Mo kicked him into the air, sending him flying.
The remaining five men, seeing their comrade sent flying, rushed in. Ye Mo quickly pulled her aunt back, stuffing her into the aircraft before leaping into the fray herself. She kicked one of the approaching men, and within moments, both she and Mo had taken down the entire group.
Mo approached Zhang Yuming, lifting him by the collar as if he were nothing more than a ragdoll. “So, what’s your plan? Were you trying to kidnap my wife or seduce her?”
“N-no… I wasn’t…” Zhang Yuming stuttered, trembling uncontrollably. But Mo Mo wasn’t going to let him off easily. With a swift motion, he flung Zhang Yuming to the ground, leaving him gasping in pain, unable to move.
By then, Mo Mo had already contacted the interstellar police. Within minutes, a squad arrived. The officers stood at attention and saluted Mo Mo with utmost respect. “General!”
