Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 85

Take the Little Ones to Watch the Fun

Perhaps it was the comforting presence of their mother that made the six little ones sleep so soundly. However, all six of them clung tightly to Ye Mo’s clothes, leaving her unable to even sit up. She sighed, realizing how her prolonged training sessions had left her children with a significant lack of security.

Feeling a wave of drowsiness herself, Ye Mo settled in and drifted off to sleep alongside them. When she woke up, she found her six little ones sitting around her, none of them having wandered off to play elsewhere.

After showering each of them with kisses, Ye Mo checked the time. It was now lunchtime. She led the six little ones out, and the nanny robots promptly took them aside to feed them milk. Ye Mo, meanwhile, was flipping through recipes, pondering what kind of solid foods to introduce to her little ones. Eventually, she decided on mashed potatoes. Fortunately, her space produced plenty of potatoes, so she steamed a whole pot and made a big bowl of mashed potatoes, even sending a portion each to Mo Mo and Aunt Gu.

As Ye Mo fed the mashed potatoes to her six little ones, the sound of a commotion outside reached her ears, accompanied by a baby’s wails.

“Butler, what’s going on outside?” Ye Mo asked the old butler.

The old butler smirked slyly, “The puppet child has been giving Yu He a hard time for over two months now, but she refuses to let go. The noise outside is the other guests from nearby rooms complaining because the baby’s cries are disturbing them.”

“Oh? And Prince Caser hasn’t said anything?”

“Prince Caser hasn’t been in his room at all; he’s been spending his time in the bar on the ship,” the butler replied. That man was nothing more than a playboy; no woman could ever tie him down. As for the puppet child, Prince Caser naturally wanted to keep it, as it concerned the line of succession. No matter how much trouble the puppet caused, Yu He refused to let go. What’s more, Prince Caser’s other women had tried to step in and take the child, but Yu He wouldn’t allow it. After all, Yu He’s adoption was the most legitimate arrangement, given the child shared half of her blood, thanks to him being one of Ye Mo’s children. So as long as she held her ground, no one else could interfere.

After feeding the mashed potatoes to her six little ones, Ye Mo decided to step out and see what was happening with Yu He. Not wanting to leave her children behind in her space, she brought them along. Ye Mo set up a soundproof barrier in the room, so she could watch the situation with Yu He while playing with her kids.

Yu He looked alarmingly thin now, and it wasn’t just her—Yuan Lili’s condition wasn’t much better either. It was fortunate that Prince Caser had assigned six attendants to help them; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to manage at all. Despite the assistance, the puppet child was still causing a lot of trouble.

To Ye Mo’s surprise, the puppet child had noticeably grown over the past two months. She was shocked; she had assumed the puppet wouldn’t grow. This realization was somewhat terrifying. If the puppet could continue to grow, it could potentially become one of the heirs to the throne of Star One. The implications were intriguing: if a puppet were to eventually ascend to the throne, how would it govern the entire nation? But with the puppet’s troublesome nature, it seemed unlikely that the throne would fall to it.

Ye Mo chuckled at the thought, but her musings were interrupted when Yueyue crawled into her lap, calling, “Mama! Mama!”

“Yes, Yueyue, what is it?” Ye Mo asked, looking down at Yueyue in her arms.

Yueyue looked up, her eyes filled with Y Mo’s reflection. She burrowed further into Ye Mo’s embrace, wrapping her small arms tightly around her. When Ye Mo had been using her spiritual sense to observe outside, Yueyue felt as though her mother had left again, so she anxiously crawled over.

“Good girl, Yueyue. Mama’s right here!” Ye Mo reassured her, gently patting Yueyue’s little head. Meanwhile, the other five were busy swinging their cloth toys—small stuffed animals that the old butler had dug out from storage. Though each was only about the size of an adult’s hand, the six little ones loved them dearly.

Seeing Yueyue nestled in her mother’s arms, the other five began to crawl over as well, each one looking for comfort. Ye Mo welcomed each of them one by one.

Sigh. If only her arms were bigger! Six was just too many to hold at once. Ye Mo couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed. Yet, watching the puppet baby’s tantrums outside, she couldn’t help but think how incredibly well-behaved her six little ones were.

A knock came on the door, interrupting the scene. Ye Mo sensed it was one of Mo Mo’s guards. She opened the door, and the guard entered, his eyes immediately landing on the six little ones on the bed. He was visibly moved, but quickly shut the door behind him.

“Madam!”

Seeing his eager expression, Ye Mo knew he wanted to meet the six children. She introduced them, “This is Uncle Lan Feng. He was sent by your father to protect us.”

The six little ones tilted their heads, curiously eyeing Lan Feng. They had never seen anyone outside their immediate circle, so they were intrigued by this unfamiliar face.

Lan Feng, overwhelmed by their adorable, wide-eyed stares, felt his heart melt. “It’s an honor to meet the young masters and princesses. I’m Lan Feng,” he said, nearly tearing up.

Lan Feng approached cautiously, clearly wanting to interact with them but too afraid to get too close. Just then, Qianqian reached out her little hand to him, offering a strawberry.

The strawberries were all washed and de-stemmed, perfectly sized for little ones to nibble on.

Lan Feng, holding the strawberry, looked to Ye Mo, unsure of what to do.

“Qianqian gave it to you, so go ahead and eat it. They’re clean—don’t worry,” Ye Mo said with a smile.

“How could I be bothered? This is a gift from the little princess!” Lan Feng had planned to save the strawberry to show off later, but when he noticed Qianqian still watching him, he popped it into his mouth.

It was incredibly sweet! So sweet! What kind of fruit was this? He had never tasted anything so delicious.

“Thank you, little princess!” Lan Feng said, his eyes sparkling with delight.

Qianqian responded with a big, bright smile, which completely made Lan Feng’s day.

“She’s Qianqian, and this is Yueyue, and this is Niuniu. These three are Guaiguai, Baobao, and Beibei. You can call them by their names—no need for all the formal titles,” Ye Mo said, introducing each of the children. After all, there was no throne to inherit here.

“Yes, ma’am!” Lan Feng replied promptly.

Lan Feng spent only about ten minutes in the room before leaving. After all, this wasn’t his room, and he knew he couldn’t linger.

Upon returning to his own quarter, his comrades quickly gathered around.

“What did Madam say?”

“What’s that red mark on the corner of your mouth?”

“Come on, spill!”

Lan Feng, still bubbling with excitement, said, “I got to see the six little ones! Especially the three little princesses—they’re just too cute! And one of them even gave me a red fruit to eat. It was delicious!”
