Learning
The little ones quickly exchanged their small blocks and went back to playing. But Beibei didn’t join them; instead, he ran off to train in the vitality water. Guaiguai, however, just glanced at him briefly, then continued stacking his blocks. He wasn’t going to act as foolish as his little brother. This was family time, time to spend with their mother, and he wouldn’t miss out on it.
As for Baobao and the others, they didn’t care about being competitive. They just wanted to stay close to their mom for as long as they could.
At this moment, Ye Mo began crafting puppet dolls for her three little girls. Soon enough, she made three delicate, interactive puppet dolls and gave one to each of her daughters.
The three girls were immediately enchanted with the dolls and quickly abandoned their blocks.
Meanwhile, Guaiguai and Baobao were gazing longingly at Ye Mo. After a moment of hesitation, she asked, “Do you two also want a puppet doll?”
Guaiguai spoke up, “Mom, I want a puppet doll that can transform.”
“Me too! Me too!” Baobao added excitedly.
Ye Mo had no choice but to go in the direction of transformation toys. Before long, she crafted a puppet doll that could transform into a plane, a car, and a robot.
Guaiguai’s excitement was immediate upon seeing it. Ye Mo quickly made two more, giving one to Baobao and placing the other beside Beibei, who was still training in the vitality water.
Beibei was focused on his training, and Ye Mo didn’t want to disturb him. She was beginning to think about how to guide him better, as his intense competitive drive could easily lead to problems down the road. After all, they were so young when they started training, and their minds were still not fully mature.
Ye Mo then went to the study in their space. The room was filled with books, all neatly organized by the old butler. She found a stack of educational books. She had an idea – she would teach the kids to read every day. She decided to start with something simple, like the Three Character Classic and Thousand Character Text from the human world.
Ye Mo translated the texts into the interstellar language and then returned to the children.
By this time, Beibei had been distracted by the noise from Baobao’s excitement. He had tried to continue training but was eventually drawn to the puppet that could transform.
Seeing the puppet, Beibei got out of the water. “What’s this…?”
Guaiguai glanced at him and said, “The puppet robot made by my mother.”
Beibei became a little impatient with his elder brother when he saw him like this and felt slightly hurt by his brother’s reaction. Baobao, noticing, added, “We only get one hour a day to spend with Mom!” The rest of the time was for eating and training. With so little time together, how could he not treasure it?
Upon hearing this, Beibei shuddered. He realized that he had already wasted some of his precious time that was supposed to be spent with his mother instead of just practicing on his cultivation.
At this point, Ye Mo arrived carrying seven books. She had the nannies prepare six small desks and chairs, and she made sure the children sat in random order, mixing boys and girls. She didn’t want her children to draw clear lines between themselves; they were family, not rivals.
She handed out the Three Character Classic and began leading them through it. Interestingly, after just one reading, the children had memorized it.
After the reading, Ye Mo explained the meaning behind the text. Seeing the kids’ slightly confused expressions, she realized she had been a little too eager. She had forgotten that they needed a foundation of knowledge before diving into more advanced training.
Rushing things could have serious consequences. If the children continued like this, they might face problems like inner turmoil during their cultivation, something she desperately wanted to avoid.
Even though their bodies were healthy, Ye Mo wanted their minds and hearts to be just as strong.
As Ye Mo explained the stories from the Three Character Classic one by one and she also observed Beibei. She wasn’t sure how to educate them, but these ancient texts from the human world, especially the Three Character Classic, seemed like a good place to start.
Ye Mo spent a total of three hours with the kids that day. By the end, all six had memorized the Three Character Classic and understood its meaning. Beibei seemed to grasp something but was still not entirely clear.
Meanwhile, the six puppets, now animated, began reciting the classic as well. Watching the puppets, the children became determined not to be outdone by them.
The children were progressing so quickly that Ye Mo even considered slowing down their training pace. If their bodies hadn’t been perfectly healthy, she might have enforced it already.
On her own, Ye Mo had been stuck at level 60 for a while now, which worried her. If things continued at this pace, her six little ones might soon surpass her. While she didn’t have any real issues with it, it did sting her pride a little.
However, after reciting the Three Character Classic with the children, Ye Mo felt her own cultivation loosen slightly.
Her eyes brightened. Reading, huh? She decided to immerse herself in books and headed to the study again. Setting aside the children’s books, she began reading other texts one by one, gaining a lot of new insights.
One advantage of being a ghost cultivator in this interstellar realm was that the heavenly laws here didn’t recognize her as an anomaly. Therefore, she could advance without worrying about tribulations or heavenly punishments.
By the time Ye Mo finished reading and returned to the children the next day, her cultivation had advanced to level 61, making her a junior ghost general.
Feeling more confident, she walked into the playground prepared for her kids and found the six of them, along with their puppets, reciting the Three Character Classic. They were absolutely adorable.
Ye Mo handed each of her six children a cup of juice. “Drink your juice first. After that, we’ll start on the Thousand Character Text!”
She was surprised by how much they loved learning.
Ye Mo took out the Thousand Character Text, gave each child a copy, and began teaching them how to recite it.
Compared to playtime, the children seemed to prefer this method of learning now.
Ye Mo didn’t push them to write yet, as they were only eight months old, even though they were cultivators. She wasn’t sure they could even hold a pen properly yet.
After teaching the Thousand Character Text, Ye Mo told them stories. The kids were so captivated that they kept asking for more. She ended up telling six stories in total, only stopping when her voice was nearly hoarse.
The lesson took almost three hours straight, without breaks, and the kids were now excitedly discussing the stories among themselves. Even the six little puppets joined the conversation.
