Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 97

Aunt Says to Keep Selling the Puppet Dolls

Yu Fengqi was completely taken aback after being scolded by his sister. He had been telling the truth—Ye Mo had been dragged into space by Zhang Yuming. He wanted to talk about the star coins, but Aunt Yu didn’t give him a chance. After berating him, she simply blocked him.

Whether it was her brother or mother, Aunt Yu had no interest in dealing with them anymore. She was especially disappointed in her mother, who had let her down time and time again.

As Yu Fengqi was hung up on, he was left feeling frustrated. How had his sister changed so much? It wasn’t this difficult to borrow star coins from her in the past. Back then, though, she didn’t have much, and even when he borrowed, he never paid it back.

Yu Fengqi couldn’t help but think Zhang Yuming jumping into space wasn’t a bad thing. With Zhang Yuming out of the picture, he didn’t have to worry about He’er running off with him again. After all, Prince Caser was a man who didn’t tolerate any disloyalty. Yu Fengqi suspected that when He’er had mentioned bringing Zhang Yuming along, Prince Caser had already started to lose interest in her. That would explain why, after all this time on the spaceship, Prince Caser hadn’t once come to see her.

If only Yu Fengqi hadn’t been in a coma, he could have prevented his daughter from making such a foolish mistake. Zhang Yuming was simply not worthy of He’er.

The death of Ye Mo was a bit of a pity, though. She had been involved with Mo Mo, and her sudden death meant Yu Fengqi hadn’t been able to profit from it. What was even worse was that all six children had already been sold for a total of over 3 billion star coins. Three billion—what a staggering amount! But where had all those star coins gone? Yu Fengqi didn’t dare ask the guards about it. He feared they might kill him.

Meanwhile, Aunt Yu was so furious that she immediately called Ye Mo. Hearing Ye Mo’s voice on the other end of the line, Aunt Yu finally relaxed. She then asked for more details about what had happened.

Ye Mo explained the situation, telling Aunt Yu that Zhang Yuming had gone mad and dragged the fake wife into space with him. Aunt Yu was shocked and broke into a cold sweat. “Ye Mo, it’s a good thing that fake wife was there. Otherwise, Zhang Yuming would have pulled you in instead!” At first, Aunt Yu had thought it was disrespectful to have someone impersonate Ye Mo, but now she saw how wise Mo Mo’s decision had been.

“Exactly!” Ye Mo didn’t dare mention that she had used certain methods to make Zhang Yuming lose his mind. After all, Aunt Yu had practically watched Zhang Yuming grow up, and Ye Mo worried that her aunt might still feel sorry for him. So, it was crucial to keep this secret.

If Zhang Yuming had gone mad on his own and dragged the fake wife with him, he was solely to blame. But if Ye Mo had made him go mad, then she would be at fault. She couldn’t let that detail slip.

As they continued their conversation, Ye Mo noticed something strange. Aunt Yu couldn’t stop mentioning this guy named Jiu Yue.

“Aunt, is Jiu Yue good-looking?”

“He’s not bad!”

At first, Ye Mo thought her aunt might have a crush on him. But then her aunt casually added, “He’s just a kid.”

“A kid?”

“Yeah, he looks to be around twenty-something,” Aunt Yu chuckled. Little did she know that Jiu Yue was standing not far behind her, looking at her with a complicated expression.

This woman’s judgment is terrible, he thought. I’m in my thirties, and she calls me a kid.

In truth, Jiu Yue had developed a bit of a fondness for Aunt Yu, admiring her kindness and gentle nature. But it seemed Aunt Yu had no interest in him at all. He assumed she wasn’t interested in him, but hearing her talk on the phone with Lady Ye Mo, always mentioning him, made him think otherwise.

Wiping his face in frustration, Jiu Yue wondered if he should ask the general to act as a matchmaker. He had noticed a few of the other energy users around Aunt Yu were also starting to take an interest in her. He needed to make his move soon.

With that thought, Jiu Yue quietly left.

Meanwhile, Aunt Yu remained oblivious to everything, fully engrossed in her conversation with Ye Mo. When Ye Mo told her about selling the puppet dolls, Aunt Yu burst into laughter.

“Serves them right! Rip them off good! If it weren’t for them, you wouldn’t have had to hide and run while you were pregnant,” Aunt Yu remarked. She despised the people trying to buy Ye Mo’s children, especially since they had to live in constant fear despite having General Mo as a protector.

“I was thinking about selling more to them, but General Mo said it’s a bad idea. These puppets can’t reproduce, and that could cause some serious problems later.”

“There are plenty of people in the galaxy who can’t have children. Just give them some anti-marriage ideas, and problem solved,” Aunt Yu said dismissively. To her, it was a minor issue. After all, countless people in the galaxy couldn’t reproduce, and even though they were purifying the life force water, its effects weren’t as potent as people imagined.

“Hmm, that might actually work!” Ye Mo’s eyes lit up at the thought. If she could alter the puppet dolls’ minds, it could solve the issue entirely.

“Those people are so desperate for kids that they’ve chased us all the way to Kamo Star. If we don’t sell to them, it’s like letting them down,” Aunt Yu said with a grin. Her time in the military had changed her personality, and she was much bolder now than she used to be.

“But Aunt, General Mo does have a point. I don’t really need the star coins. I’m thinking of signing a few contracts with the people on the ship and then stopping this business once we leave.”

“Momo, you’re thinking too small. Who’s ever going to complain about making more star coins? You’ve got six kids to raise, and who knows how many more you might have in the future? Plus, think about it—if those people can’t buy children from you, they’ll start targeting real pregnant women. By selling to them, you’re actually protecting innocent women.”

“That’s a good point! If they buy from me, they won’t need to harm real mothers.” Ye Mo had been a pregnant woman herself and had always worried about being targeted. Selling puppet dolls could spare someone else that same fear.

“Exactly! Keep selling. I support you 100%! Those people have too many star coins and don’t know what to do with them. Instead of letting them turn to crime, let them spend their money on puppet babies. That way, you and your six kids will never have to worry about money again,” Aunt Yu said with a sly smile.

“Alright, I’ll keep selling the puppet babies,” Ye Mo agreed, her eyes narrowing in determination. Of course, she’d be careful not to let Mo Mo find out—he was far too strict!
