Tang Feng checked the time and realized he could hand in his paper. Without any hesitation, he flipped his test paper over on the desk, grabbed his pencil case, and strode out of the classroom. The two teachers watched his departing figure, whispering to each other in amazement.

“Teacher Sun, is that student from our school?” one asked.

“I’m not sure. This examination room has students from both our school and No.9 Middle School,” the other replied.

Tang Feng waited for a while before seeing Su Xiaoli emerge from the school gate. She seemed a bit downcast. Tang Feng quickly walked up to her.

“When did you come out?” Su Xiaoli asked before Tang Feng could speak.

“About half an hour ago,” he replied.

Su Xiaoli nodded, “Let’s go home and have lunch.”

“Don’t just serve me, eat some yourself!” Su Xiaoli said, slightly embarrassed.

Their relationship had always seemed lukewarm over the years, but now, she could clearly feel Tang Feng’s warmth towards her, causing ripples in her heart. She never dreamed that Tang Feng would become so passionate about her, making her feel like the happiest woman in the world.

Tang Feng watched her, his smile never fading. Granted a second chance at life, he was determined to cherish and hold onto the opportunity to be with his beloved, knowing such chances are rare.

As time ticked by, they spent a full hour on their lunch. Checking the clock on the wall, Tang Feng asked, “Do you want to rest a bit?”

“No need,” Su Xiaoli shook her head, “The math exam is in an hour. I can’t risk oversleeping.”

“Don’t worry, I’m here. You won’t oversleep,” Tang Feng said, standing and offering his hand.

Blushing, Su Xiaoli didn’t refuse and stood up with him. They went to Tang Feng’s bedroom, where he suggested she lie down on the bed while he sat at his study desk.

“Aren’t you sleeping?” she asked, surprised.

“I’m too energized for a nap. You go ahead,” he reassured her.

After some hesitation, Su Xiaoli closed her eyes and soon fell asleep, the room enveloped in silence.

When it was almost time to leave for the afternoon exam, Tang Feng gently woke her. “

What time is it?” she sat up immediately.

“Half an hour before the exam,” he informed.

“Did you sleep at all?” she asked as they got ready to leave.

“No,” he shook his head.

“Thank you,” she unexpectedly expressed her gratitude.

“There’s no need for thanks between us. Let’s get going. Wash your face, and we’ll head out,” Tang Feng said, heading to the bathroom first, followed by Su Xiaoli.

After freshening up and tidying her slightly messy hair, they left the house. On their way to school, Tang Feng reviewed a few key points with Su Xiaoli that she hadn’t fully grasped before.

Arriving at their destination, they said their goodbyes and headed to their respective examination rooms.
