Chapter 217: Preparing to Invest in Jingdong Mall! (Part 3/5)
“Finding him won’t be easy! I’ll ask around. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go directly to Jingdong Mall’s headquarters!” Zhu Zihang said.
“You definitely can’t show up personally for this. First, help me gather some information. Later, I’ll have Xiaoli reach out,” Tang Feng decided.
“But boss, Jingdong Mall has only just been established. Can it really make it?” Zhu Zihang expressed some doubt.
“Yes, it can! Liu Dong is quite capable. Even if I don’t invest in him, someone else will,” Tang Feng replied.
“In that case, I’ll start asking around right away,” Zhu Zihang said as he took out his phone.
“Let’s eat first! There’s no rush; we can do it after we’ve eaten,” Tang Feng suggested.
Seeing this, Zhu Zihang put his phone away.
The dishes were served one after another.
They talked while eating.
After finishing their meal, Zhu Zihang began to look for Liu Dong’s contact information.
Soon, he obtained Liu Dong’s private mobile number.
“Boss, this is Liu Dong’s mobile number! When do you plan to call him?” Zhu Zihang inquired.
“Wait for Xiaoli to get back. Then, I’ll have her call Liu Dong and arrange a meeting,” Tang Feng answered.
“If this deal works out, we can create some controversial topics between us,” Zhu Zihang became excited.
“When creating a topic, make sure not to drag Yiwugo into this,” Tang Feng reminded him.
“I understand!” Zhu Zihang nodded, “We’ll deliberately ignore them.”
“But I think Yiwugo won’t just sit idly by! They will take some action! After all, Yiwugo is owned by powerful company. Don’t take them lightly!” Tang Feng offered a friendly reminder.
“Don’t worry! I’ll handle this well!” Zhu Zihang said.
Then, they parted ways.
Tang Feng returned home.
He didn’t idle around.
He went to his study and got busy.
With some time before Su Xiaoli’s return, he could write a couple of math papers.
Time passed by second by second.
When night fell, Tang Feng received a text message from Su Xiaoli.
He replied.
Then, he quickly cooked a couple of dishes and had a quick meal.
When it was about time, he drove out.
Even though it was already 8:30 PM, the roads in Beijing were still bustling with traffic.
If this were Binjiang District, the streets would probably be empty.
This contrast highlighted the prosperity of Beijing.
Compared to Binjiang District, Beijing was indeed a different world.
After an hour’s journey, Tang Feng arrived at the airport successfully.
He waited patiently at the exit.
After some time, Su Xiaoli and Professor Li Ping appeared with their luggage.
He hurried over to greet them.
“Professor Li!” he greeted proactively.
“Xiaoli, since Tang Feng is here to pick you up, you go ahead,” Professor Li Ping said with a smile.
“Ah? Aren’t we on the way? Isn’t your husband coming to pick you up too?” Su Xiaoli was visibly startled.
“That’s not it,” Professor Li Ping shook her head, “I just didn’t want to trouble you.”
“There’s no trouble. Let’s go,” Tang Feng said as he took their luggage.
Then, he strode towards the exit.
Professor Li Ping and Su Xiaoli followed him.
Once they were settled in the car, Tang Feng started the vehicle and headed towards their destination.
“Professor Li, Xiaoli, would you like some supper?” Tang Feng asked.
“It’s quite late; let’s not,” Professor Li Ping replied.
Seeing her say this, Tang Feng had to drop the idea.
Upon reaching the residential complex, Tang Feng helped carry the luggage to Professor Li Ping’s doorstep.
“Thank you!”
“Professor Li, you’re too polite! See you!”
After Tang Feng spoke, he left.
“Let’s go home!” Tang Feng got into the car.
Shortly after, they arrived at their home.
“Xiaoli, sit on the couch and rest for a bit,” Tang Feng said as he headed to the bathroom.
Soon, he came back with a basin of warm water.
“Soak your feet to relieve the fatigue. I’ll make you some supper,” Tang Feng said as he went to the kitchen.
Su Xiaoli watched his back, feeling moved.
Even her father probably wouldn’t do this for her.
Quickly, Tang Feng placed a bowl of steaming noodles on the dining table.
Su Xiaoli finished soaking her feet.
She sat at the dining table and began to eat.
“Don’t rush! Eat slowly,” Tang Feng said gently.
“Brother Feng, what have you been doing these past few days? Did you find it boring without me?” Su Xiaoli asked while eating her noodles.
“It was okay. I’ve been busy these days, hardly had any free time. I managed to write two math papers this afternoon and will take them to the editorial office later,” Tang Feng answered.
“That’s amazing!” Su Xiaoli couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up.
Tang Feng smiled sheepishly.
“By the way, I bought some tea. You can try it and see how it tastes,” Su Xiaoli said.
“Let’s talk about that later. Tomorrow morning, I’ll give you Liu Dong’s mobile number. You can call him and meet him,” Tang Feng said.
“Who’s Liu Dong?” Su Xiaoli was puzzled.
It was her first time hearing this name.
“Liu Dong is the founder of Jingdong Mall. I want you to meet him and see about investing some money in his company for a share of the ownership,” Tang Feng explained.
“So, you think highly of the company he founded? I’m curious, what does this company do?” Su Xiaoli asked with interest.
“It’s also an online shopping website,” Tang Feng replied.
“Does that mean it’s similar to Jianbao Network?” Su Xiaoli was confused.
“On the surface, the two seem similar. But fundamentally, there’s a big difference. Jianbao Network is more like a mall with various booths. Jingdong Mall is more like a supermarket,” Tang Feng explained simply.
“I see,” Su Xiaoli nodded thoughtfully, “So I can understand it like this: Jingdong Mall purchases goods from suppliers and then sells them to users. Jianbao Network provides a platform for merchants to sell to users.”
“Exactly! You’ve got it! That’s the difference between the two,” Tang Feng said with a slight smile.
