Chapter 78: Successfully Proving the Riemann Hypothesis!
In the afternoon, Tang Long and his wife accompanied Tang Feng’s uncle to the new house.
Not knowing how much time had passed, Tang Feng came out of his room.
He looked exceptionally tired.
His eyes had lost their sparkle.
Su Xiaoli felt incredibly heartbroken.
“Xiaoli, is there anything to eat?” Tang Feng asked as he sat down at the dining table.
“Yes! I’ll get it for you!” Su Xiaoli hurriedly brought him two dishes and a bowl of rice.
Tang Feng ate three bowls of rice in one go!
The consumption of both physical and mental energy had exceeded his endurance.
Fortunately, he had exchanged for two bottles of anti-fatigue potion beforehand, or he wouldn’t have been able to continue.
Seeing him devour the food, Su Xiaoli’s eyes reddened slightly.
“Do you want more?” Su Xiaoli quickly asked after seeing him finish the rice.
“No, thanks.” Tang Feng waved his hand, “I plan to get some good sleep.”
“Tang Feng, maybe…” Su Xiaoli hesitated.
“What?” Tang Feng looked at her, asking.
“Maybe you should stop trying to prove the Riemann Hypothesis. I’m really worried something might happen if you continue like this,” Su Xiaoli finally spoke her mind.
“Don’t worry! It’s okay! I have already completed the proof of the Riemann Hypothesis.”
“What? Are you serious?” Su Xiaoli couldn’t believe her ears.
“Of course, I’m serious! Such an important matter, how could I joke about it! Of course, just proving the Riemann Hypothesis is not enough. I need to publish the proof process in top academic journals for verification by mathematicians worldwide,” Tang Feng smiled happily.
“So, you mean to say, next you need to organize the manuscript and then submit it?” Su Xiaoli asked.
“Yes.” Tang Feng nodded, “But I’m not very familiar with these academic journals. I’ll sleep first, then call Professor Lu Tao for advice.”
“Go ahead and sleep!”
Tang Feng got up and went back to his bedroom, lying down on the bed.
Su Xiaoli followed him.
Now that Tang Feng had completed the proof of the Riemann Hypothesis, she could breathe a sigh of relief, not having to worry about disturbing him.
She looked at the drafts on the table, astounded.
A huge stack!
By estimation, it was about two hundred pages!
She casually flipped through them, finding herself utterly unable to understand.
The papers were filled with all sorts of symbols.
After trying to read for a while, she found herself with a severe headache.
She looked at Tang Feng, who was sound asleep, feeling the urge to peek inside his brain!
She knew Tang Feng was good at mathematics, but she hadn’t realized he was this good!
Far beyond her imagination!
She was really curious about how Tang Feng had mastered such profound mathematical knowledge.
She had thought about helping Tang Feng organize the drafts but then decided against it.
After all, these papers were incredibly precious! If accidentally damaged, that would be troublesome.
Unknown how much time had passed, Su Xiaoli’s phone rang.
It was a call from Su Gang.
She quickly covered the phone and walked out of the bedroom.
“Xiaoli, where have you been? Why haven’t you come back yet?” Su Gang’s voice came through.
“Dad, I’m still at Tang Feng’s house,” Su Xiaoli answered.
“What’s the matter? Is there something wrong over there?” Su Gang suddenly became anxious.
“No.” Su Xiaoli shook her head, “He’s sleeping right now. I’ll come home after he wakes up.”
“Sleeping? Did I hear that right? It’s five-thirty in the afternoon, and he’s sleeping?” Su Gang was puzzled.
“He just completed the proof of a mathematical problem and is mentally exhausted. When he came out of his room earlier, he looked as if he had been hit by frost. It’s the first time I’ve seen him like this,” Su Xiaoli replied.
“When will he wake up?” Su Gang continued to ask.
“I don’t know,” Su Xiaoli shook her head.
“You child! If he continues to sleep, are you planning to stay there all night?” Su Gang said with a hint of helplessness.
Su Xiaoli didn’t respond.
“Have you eaten?” Su Gang asked.
“Not yet. I’m not hungry,” Su Xiaoli replied.
“How can you not eat? Wait there, I’ll come over,” Su Gang offered.
“Dad, don’t come! I’ll go home once Uncle Tang and Auntie come back!” Su Xiaoli panicked.
“They might not come back until who knows when! See you in a bit!” Su Gang hung up the phone directly.
Su Xiaoli put away her phone and sat down on the living room sofa.
Half an hour later, someone knocked on the door.
Su Xiaoli quickly got up to open it.
Su Gang stood at the doorway, holding a bunch of food.
“Dad, keep your voice down! Tang Feng is still sleeping,” Su Xiaoli warned her father.
Su Gang tiptoed inside.
He placed the food on the dining table.
Then he sat down on the sofa.
“Xiaoli, you mentioned on the phone that Little Feng completed the proof of a mathematical problem. What’s this about?” Su Gang couldn’t wait to know.
“Dad, have you heard of the Riemann Hypothesis?” Su Xiaoli asked.
“I actually haven’t,” Su Gang admitted, embarrassed.
“The Riemann Hypothesis is a world-class mathematical problem. Since its proposition, it has been over a hundred years. Numerous mathematicians have tried and failed to prove it. Now, Tang Feng has proved it,” Su Xiaoli said, her eyes filled with admiration.
“Really? Little Feng is just a high school student; how could he possibly solve a world-class mathematical problem?” Su Gang found it hard to believe.
It wasn’t his fault.
After all, what Tang Feng had done was somewhat astonishing.
Even if it were to be spread, the first reaction would likely be disbelief.
“I’m not sure about that,” Su Xiaoli shook her head, “But he plans to publish the proof process in top mathematical journals for further verification by more mathematicians.”
“Let’s not spread this for now. In case the verification results are wrong, then Little Feng would have wasted his efforts in vain,” Su Gang advised his daughter.
“Being wrong is normal. After all, it’s a world-class mathematical problem. For him, a high school student, to dare to challenge it, is already commendable! And I’ve seen the drafts he used for the proof, I couldn’t understand a thing, it’s all symbols,” Su Xiaoli said, her admiration for Tang Feng overflowing.
“Is that so? I’ll have a look when he wakes up!” Su Gang’s interest was piqued upon hearing this.
“I donβt know when he’ll wake up,” Su Xiaoli sighed.
