Once it was the holiday, Yu Mian became freer and the time she spends at the hospital also increased.
She went there often, so she found out that Lin Jianshen was extremely busy even if he was in the hospital.
Yu Mian had heard the matter about him founding a company from her mother a while back, however, she didn’t know the details. But after staying by his side, Yu Mian gradually learned some things about him.
Lin Jianshen’s company does information technology research and development, called Musen Technology. It has been established about five years ago and was somewhat well-known in the industry. Lin Jianshen had always been hiding behind the scenes and had never revealed his identity to the public. However, when most people think of Musen Technology, they would still associate it with Lin Jianshen.
It’s because he had been the spokesperson for Musen Technology for several years. He rarely accepted endorsements, so after becoming Musen’s exclusive spokesperson, the company immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
At first, people wondered if Lin Jianshen had a good relationship with Musen’s boss, that’s why he accepted the endorsement, but no one guessed that he was Musen’s boss.
Later, Musen Technology developed several new technologies and grew into an emerging leading company in the field of information technology. People then said that Lin Jianshen had a good vision and must have foreseen Musen’s future glory in advance.
After all, Lin Jianshen was recognized as having excellent vision. Even if no one was optimistic about the TV series and movies he starred in at first, they would always end up being big hits.
Some people commented that he had the acumen and foresight of a businessman, and if he goes into business, his achievements would definitely be high.
It’s a pity that he had only been filming for so many years and seemed to have no other interests except acting.
Yu Mian had also thought that he had a deep love for his profession, regarded money and power as dirt, and was a person indifferent to fame and fortune and had lofty aspirations. Only now did she realize that the Lin Jianshen outside the camera wasn’t as aloof as she imagined.
In front of the lens, he seemed to stand in the distance on a snow-capped mountain, calm and detached, as if he was independent from the world and free from dust. In reality, Lin Jianshen would smile gently, care about things, and act spoiled and clingy towards her.
This man wasn’t an emotionally indifferent immortal. He also has various emotions and desires, it’s just that most people couldn’t see them.
Yu Mian actually likes this feeling, as if she had him in a very real way.
Although Lin Jianshen refused many people’s visit, he couldn’t put off the company’s matters. Even if he was lying on the bed and couldn’t move, he still had to sit up, put a laptop in front of him to handle company affairs, and hold meetings with employees.
When doing these things, he didn’t avoid Yu Mian. Even when she suggested that she would wait until he was no longer busy to come see him as she didn’t want to disturb, Lin Jianshen rejected it without hesitation.
“But I still have to paint. The competition is about to start and I need to prepare my work.”
Lin Jianshen simply suggested, “Then come here and paint, I won’t disturb you.”
Yu Mian: “……” It was clearly her that didn’t want to disturb him! How did it turn the other way around?
In fact, the environment of this private hospital was very good, especially the VIP ward where he’s staying at. It has a living room, a small bedroom for a caregiver, and a separate bathroom. It didn’t look like a hospital ward but a hotel room.
After a piano was placed in the living room at some point, Yu Mian’s easel and various painting tools were added in.
Yu Mian sat by the window facing the art board and holding a paintbrush in her hand. She turned her head to look at the man who was sitting reclined on the bed while looking at the laptop screen seriously. She couldn’t figure out how all this happened.
She suddenly realized that this man was nothing short of terrifying. If he wanted to do something, she had no room to resist. Because he would solve the problem perfectly before she could react and get the result he wanted.
Just like before when he took the contract from Yu Mian and dispelled her concerns, causing a natural shift in their relationship.
And after the car accident, when he learned about the knot in Yu Mian’s heart, he unabashedly revealed his feelings, once again closing the distance between them and eliminating the barriers.
He didn’t seem to do any of these things deliberately, but they were just right every time, as if they happened naturally.
The more Yu Mian thought about it, the more she felt that she had been tricked.
“What’s wrong?” Perhaps she’d been looking at him for too long, thus Lin Jianshen noticed it. He turned to look at Yu Mian. “Are you tired? Do you want to take a break?”
Yu Mian was indignant. She snorted a little and gave him a profound look, then turned her face and stopped looking at him.
She had already seen through all his little tricks and there was no way she would fall for them again.
Yu Mian lowered her head and continued painting. Whenever she was immersed in painting, she would ignore everything around her. After finishing the last stroke, Yu Mian finally raised her head from the art board, surveyed her work, and showed a satisfied smile.
“You’re done?” The man’s deep voice came to her ears. When Yu Mian turned her head, she saw Lin Jianshen supporting his chin with one hand, his elbow pressed on the bed table and his black eyes staring at her.
The laptop screen in front of him had gone dark at some point and she had no idea how long he had been looking her way.
Yu Mian’s heart tightened. As long as she looked at him, her heartbeat would habitually speed up.
She nodded, pursed her lips and said, “Yes.”
Lin Jianshen had a peaceful expression as he ask, “Can I take a look?”
“Hmm, wait a moment.”
It was a reasonable request so Yu Mian didn’t think much of it. She took the painting off the easel and came to the side of his bed.
When the painting was brought over, Lin Jianshen really looked at it carefully for a while. What Yu Mian painted was a realistic painting with delicate brushwork. It depicted a little girl lying on the windowsill. She was cupping her tender face in both hands and her clear eyes were looking at the large tree not far away, on which rested a small, round sparrow.
The little girl had an expression of innocence and her big dark eyes were bright and lively as it reflected the skylight clearly. It made people sense her purity at a glance.
The room behind her was dark and silent, like the mouth of a ferocious beast. Outside the window, there were blue sky and white clouds, lovely birds and green trees in brilliant colors, which was a sharp contrast to the dark and shabby small window.
Lin Jianshen had his eyes lowered as he thoughtfully examined the little girl. The he asked Yu Mian, “She looks a bit like you, is she the past you?”
Yu Mian was surprised. He actually got it right?
Noticing the surprise on her face, Lin Jianshen burst into laughter. He placed the painting on the table, lifted his hand and grabbed the armrest of her wheelchair, pulling her closer to him.
He leaned down slightly, looked into her eyes seriously, and asked, “You actually think I won’t recognize my own girlfriend?”
“N-no, what I painted is the past me. My previous appearance is a little different and you’ve also never seen it before……”
Lin Jianshen seemed to take an issue with this matter. “Even if I haven’t seen you before, I can still guess it. Mianmian doesn’t believe me?”
Yu Mian felt that the two of them were too close. She was sitting in a wheelchair and was a bit below Lin Jianshen. He was holding her wheelchair to prevent her from running away. There was less than ten centimeters between their faces and the tip of his nose was about to bump into hers.
Her face turned red and she no longer had the courage to snort at him like before. She stuttered and whispered, “N-no, I believe you……”
Lin Jianshen lowered his eyes and said in a despondent tone, “Your boyfriend is a little sad.”
Yu Mian was suddenly at a loss. Her heart was in a mess because of him and she couldn’t recall any of the caution she had thought about.
The man said quietly, “Mianmian has to make it up to me.”
Yu Mian was helpless. “I-I don’t doubt you…… What do you want me to make up for— Hmm!”
In front of her eyes was a pair of deep black eyes that were extremely close that Yu Mian could seem to see a smile flashing through them. The tip of his nose came in contact with hers and it was slightly cool, then there was a soft touch on her lips, like a gentle flower.
The petals bloomed slowly and the roots gradually spread deeper. It brought a slight tingling, as if a faint electric current was passing through her lips, making her whole body weak and lose all strength.
Her breath was robbed and her lips and tongue were tightly bound, as if the flower greedily wanted to suck in all the air and moisture in them. Yu Mian’s breath was short and the ends of her eyes were flushed. She forgot to close her eyes and water appeared in them, making her eyes appear more crystal clear.
Lin Jianshen’s heart trembled as he saw his own shadow reflected in her eyes.
That’s it, she should always look at him.
When she was painting, she couldn’t see him at all. He’d been watching her for a long time but she never noticed.
So he no longer restrained himself, acted impulsively once, and was finally satisfied.
When Yu Mian raised her hand and started to push him weakly, Lin Jianshen finally let go of her. Yu Mian took a few deep breaths. Her whole body was red from head to toe and there was even a thin sweat on her back.
The young woman’s eyes were watery, her gaze incredibly soft, and her red lips were slightly open to gasp for air, as delicate as rose petals dotted with dewdrops in the early morning.
The man’s dark eyes were heavy as he stared at her in silence for a moment. Then he chuckled and said, “Mianmian’s lipstick today…… is peach flavored?”
Yu Mian’s response was to instinctively turn her wheelchair and move some distance away from him.
Anyway, it was a distance that Lin Jianshen couldn’t reach.
Just now, she couldn’t even breathe. However, he didn’t have the slightest intention of stopping. Yu Mian felt that her lips were numb and the tip of her tongue felt sore. At that time, she wanted to back away but he was pressing on her wheelchair so she couldn’t move.
Such intimate behavior between lovers was inevitable and she wasn’t being pretentious. It’s just that this first attempt was so in-depth that Yu Mian was both shy and a little afraid of the hidden ferocity he showed.
“I-I’ll see you tomorrow!”
Meeting Lin Jian’s smiling eyes, Yu Mian brushed them aside and chose to flee.
She didn’t even get to take the painting before she ran off as if there’s a wolf chasing after her.
In the ward, Lin Jianshen held the art board and looked at the little girl in the painting.
When she was young, she was in darkness and yearned for the light outside. And he, wasn’t he the same?
Fortunately, they both attained the light.
