Release the Female Lead, Leave Her to Me
Release the Female Lead Ch. 178

Chapter 178: Fairy Fengya, aka “Ye Wenxin”, Makes Her Entrance (Third Update)

“Isn’t this too much?!”

“I wouldn’t say that, the outcome of the match is still uncertain. Yesterday, Ye Wenxin fought ten opponents consecutively and eventually made it into the top fifty.”

“Yeah, maybe this time she has a lot of people helping her behind the scenes again.”

“Ye Meijing” heard these comments and could not help but smile bitterly. Looking at the indifferent “Ye Wenxin” beside her, she whispered to her softly, “Master, can you punch her in the face a few more times?”

Fairy Fengya put away the secret chronicle into her bag of holding, then glanced indifferently at “Ye Meijing” and said slowly, “Is there a grudge?”

As soon as she heard this, “Ye Meijing” nodded vigorously, anticipating a good show.

Fairy Fengya nodded slightly, then said something completely unexpected.

“Oh, then I definitely shouldn’t hit her.”

“Why not?!”

“Ye Meijing” felt like the plot was getting increasingly off track. Shouldn’t Fairy Fengya be standing up for her poor, weak, and helpless disciple at this moment?

“Settle your own business yourself,” responded Fairy Fengya. She lightly jumped onto the stage, leaving behind “Ye Meijing” in a complicated mood. She suddenly started to miss Ling Jue…

The interaction on stage officially began. Su Mei first saluted with a clasped fist and then exchanged pleasantries with Fairy Fengya.

“Miss Wenxin, let’s keep it civil this time. I promise I won’t harm you.”

Fairy Fengya nodded slightly but remained silent. She understood that there were too many differences between herself and Ye Wenxin. Speaking up might risk exposing her identity again.

“In that case, I won’t hold back.”

With those words, Su Mei’s palm wind immediately became sharp, as it struck towards Fairy Fengya.

Fairy Fengya effortlessly dodged, but her brows furrowed slightly. It was not because Su Mei’s attack was formidable, but because of its ruthlessness; there was no trace of an immortal sect’s technique.

With such an approach, Fairy Fengya suddenly felt a surge of relief that it was her who entered the stage, not her disciple who always talked nonsense and loved to use strange pills.

At this thought, Fairy Fengya’s eyes flashed with a hint of killing intent. She did not draw her sword but instead used the Azure Wings Sect’s most basic Sword Qi Technique.

Every entry-level disciple had to learn this Sword Qi Technique, and Fairy Fengya intended to use it to claim the champion title.

“Sword Qi, heh!” Su Mei laughed even more fiercely.

Being mocked repeatedly by Ye Wenxin in the past few days, resentment had been building up in her heart. But unexpectedly, Long Qingyue gave her the opportunity (condemned her to her downfall), letting her challenge Ye Wenxin on this stage.

As long as she defeated Ye Wenxin, she might really be able to achieve great success.

Su Mei naively believed this, completely unaware that Long Qingyue intentionally let her provoke “Ye Wenxin”, to test the strength of this mercenary Ye Wenxin had hired.

The situation on the scene was on the verge of erupting. What was supposed to be a one-sided battle became unpredictable because of Fairy Fengya’s Sword Qi.

A powerful sword intent permeated the venue, causing the entire stage to tremble.

Fairy Fengya seemed to realize that she had accidentally exerted too much force, so she restrained some of the sword intent. In an instant, nine golden swords appeared and flew towards Su Mei.

“Is this really the Sword Qi Technique?”

“Hey, I must’ve learned a fake version!”

The onlookers were stunned. The basic Sword Qi Technique they had learned suddenly transformed into an advanced martial arts move in “Ye Wenxin’s” hands. If an ordinary person were using a level 1 Sword Qi Technique, then the impression given by Fairy Fengya now was as if she were using a level 99 Sword Qi Technique.

The atmosphere was filled with such murderous intent that it seemed like even a slight brush with the sword intent would scatter one’s soul.

“Wenxin! Your Qi might not be enough. Hurry up and take your pill!”

“Ye Meijing” also noticed the sensation Fairy Fengya was causing for her. Jokes aside, she was the one and only female lead, Fairy Fengya; how could her Sword Qi Technique be the same as an ordinary person’s? But that was not her concern now. She was worried that Fairy Fengya was playing with fire too much, which might prevent Ye Wenxin from continuing to pretend to be inconspicuous.

Noticing “Ye Meijing’s” hint, Fairy Fengya nodded slightly and then took out a bottle of pills from her robe.

It was the same familiar bottle, the same familiar style, and then she downed it in one gulp.

“That jerk actually came to watch my match yesterday!”

Seeing the completely natural and seamless action, “Ye Meijing” suddenly stood up from her seat, as if witnessing the bizarre scene of herself reappearing on the stage yesterday.

“Tsk, damn Alchemist.”

“It looks like she’s upgraded, sixth-grade pills. That one gulp costs a few million spirit stones.”

The crowd made various jealous noises, but watching Fairy Fengya take the pills made them understand why “Ye Wenxin” could wield such fierce sword intent.

It was entirely due to the pills boosting her Qi, an unstable method fraught with potential danger.

In reality, this was a deliberate act by Fairy Fengya to disguise her true strength. Seeing the surrounding people murmuring, she felt strangely conflicted.

She was used to being the center of attention, but all the gazes had been filled with awe and adoration; never before had she felt such disdain. For a moment, Fairy Fengya even considered abandoning her disciple, who now seemed to have poor character and mediocre martial skills.

Seeing this, Su Mei naturally assumed that Fairy Fengya’s strength came from taking pills. Watching Fairy Fengya daydreaming on stage, Su Mei became even more ruthless in her attacks.

Fairy Fengya did not even glance at her. The nine swords flew out, heading straight for Su Mei. The swords were swift. Before she could even move, Su Mei felt as if a thousand arrows were piercing her.

She stopped in her tracks, her legs trembling even more violently. Realizing there were no wounds on her body, she suddenly understood that “Ye Wenxin” was just bluffing.

Even so, she was so terrified that her legs went weak, immobilizing her. The host suddenly stepped onto the stage, puzzled as to why “Ye Wenxin” had stopped attacking, only to see that Su Mei had already fled in panic earlier and had accidentally stepped out of the ring.

“Winner, Ye Wenxin!”

As the announcement fell, the crowd erupted in excitement. However, unlike earlier, their gazes were now filled with surprise. But the event was not over yet. “Ye Wenxin”, who just left, jumped back onto the stage.

No one understood why “Ye Wenxin” had returned after the match had concluded, not even “Ye Meijing”. In one quick move, Fairy Fengya decisively slapped Su Mei across the face.

The slap left Su Mei seeing stars, and before she could react, a second and a third slap followed.

“Ye Meijing” was completely stunned. Visually, it appeared as though she was the one dealing with Su Mei, but in reality, it was Fairy Fengya handling Su Mei on her behalf.

Witnessing this delightful scene, “Ye Meijing” had a burst of poetic inspiration, exclaiming, “Since ancient times, all face death’s call; but villains like you, are first to fall!”

Get rekt, Su Mei. Now we know how protective Fengya can be. Wenxin at the end tho, lol.

The chapters have gotten shorter now. 1ch used to be over 3k, now it’s over 2k. Hopefully this’ll give me more time to work on other projects. I’m currently also working on 1 ongoing JP yuri fantasy novel tht’s over 300k characters, which is probably around 100k English words. Won’t release it for a while tho.
