Chapter 179: You’re the Only Right One
But “Ye Meijing” felt something amiss after saying this. It seemed that after being on the run for so long, she had forgotten that she was the worst villain back in the day…
When Fairy Fengya returned, she saw “Ye Meijing” muttering to herself. Watching her increasingly odd behavior, Fairy Fengya curiously asked, “Disciple, what are you up to now?”
“Ye Meijing” forced out a wry smile; when she gave no answer, Fairy Fengya immediately sat beside her. Fairy Fengya’s movements were still so graceful and fluid, but using “Ye Wenxin’s” face created a strong sense of disharmony.
“Nothing, just contemplating life.” She gave Fairy Fengya a faint smile. There was absolutely no way she would tell Fairy Fengya about the stupid thing she just did.
Fairy Fengya shifted a little closer. She did it so abruptly that it confused “Ye Meijing”. “Ye Meijing” thought Fairy Fengya was just like the others, having ideas on the Iceborn Constitution, so she helplessly said, “What’re you doing, Master? The Iceborn Constitution isn’t something you can absorb like this.”
“No, I just find the gaze from over there a bit piercing,” responded Fairy Fengya calmly, completely unaware that her actions earlier did not just attract the Azure Wings Sect members’ attention, but also drew the eyes of people from other sects.
The way she turned an ordinary Sword Qi Technique into something that came out of an ancient manual had been imprinted in everyone’s mind.
“Master, you were really too conspicuous just now. I don’t think I can be an ordinary person anymore.”
“Ye Meijing” felt increasingly displeased by this. The life she had meticulously planned and written was now changing because of Fairy Fengya.
“How could a disciple of mine be ordinary?” Fairy Fengya’s tone became much duller, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Whenever she felt strange gazes, she moved closer to “Ye Meijing”, as if using her as a shield.
“Ye Meijing”, realizing the situation around them was becoming increasingly awkward, took a few steps away in scorn. “Look at the other masters; they all protect their disciples well. But me, after the tournament ends, there’ll be even more people wanting me dead.”
“Ye Meijing” felt drained just thinking about the wonderful scene after the Immortal Sect Grand Tournament ended. The even more draining part was that she still had to pretend to be weak.
“I will thoroughly protect you.” Hearing Fairy Fengya’s voice quietly drifting over, “Ye Meijing” saw red.
“Protect me thoroughly, huh. What about Gu Aotian? He still hasn’t glimpsed your shadow even now!” “Ye Meijing” felt quite complicated thinking about Gu Aotian, that true disciple who took the fall for her.
“……”
Fairy Fengya fell silent. Did she finally remember she had another disciple, or was she trying to figure out who the hell was Gu Aotian?
“Don’t tell me you don’t even remember who Gu Aotian is?” Watching Fairy Fengya’s reaction, “Ye Meijing” finally understood how cold she was.
“Why remember him if he can’t help me cultivate immortality?”
Gu Aotian’s heart would probably be chilled to ice if he heard these words. Even “Ye Meijing” herself would not feel much better upon hearing them, thinking she might end up like him.
“But I can’t help you with that either.” So why did you choose me, Master? There are lots of disciples with good aptitude; look at Senior Sister Long Qing’er; she’s been besotted with you for so long, but doesn’t even get one look back from you. There’s also Xiao Wang from the east, and Xiao Li from the west…” Of course, “Ye Meijing” made up all the names apart from Long Qing’er’s.
She kept feeling it was not her Iceborn Constitution that Fairy Fengya fancied, but whatever it was, she had no clue.
“You’re the only right one in this world.” Fairy Fengya stopped hiding her selfish motives and her wholehearted pursuit of immortality. One must be prepared to win some and lose some, to become immortal.
She gave up wordly desires and human emotions just to become stronger and ascend quicker, but if asked why she had developed such an obsession, Fairy Fengya could not clearly remember.
So that was the answer she came up with.
“I’m the right one? What part of me exactly?”
“Ye Meijing” asked again. This time, Fairy Fengya said nothing.
You’re my Tribulation of Emotions, my emotional entanglement, but revealing this to “Ye Meijing” would disrupt their current relaxed state.
Seeing Fairy Fengya reverting to her original state, “Ye Meijing” understood she had asked all she could. This was probably her biggest secret, and thus she could only tell this much.
Thinking about this, “Ye Meijing” waved her hand, ending this topic herself. “Forget it. You have to keep a low profile in the next official match; don’t cause me so much trouble again.”
Fairy Fengya nodded slightly, eyes straight ahead, only to see the person on stage appear familiar.
“Disciple, why does that person seem a bit familiar?”
“Ye Meijing” also looked over, and at a glance, saw Fatty standing there awkwardly.
“Master, you just met him half an hour ago and even snatched a book from him. You already forgot about him?”
“Ye Meijing” warmly reminded. She found that this master of hers indeed only had cultivation on her mind, and had no interest in the mundane.
Fairy Fengya nodded again; however, this time she took out the secret chronicle from her bag of holding, resuming to read it in earnest.
“Master, why’re you enjoying that so much?” Fairy Fengya showed no reaction to “Ye Meijing’s” sarcastic remark. Once she was focused, she completely ignored “Ye Meijing” again.
Although “Ye Meijing” wanted to continue taunting Fairy Fengya, she had to concentrate on what was happening in front of her. Since it was her little brother on stage, she had to show him some deference.
Fatty just finished his introduction and was being interviewed by the host.
“Who is this cultivator going to challenge?”
Fatty clenched his fists, fought through his nervousness, and shouted the name of the person he wanted to challenge.
“I want to challenge the inner disciple, Su Mei!”
Some people thought this name sounded familiar, but they could not quite recall where they had heard it.
As Fairy Fengya raised her head for the first time upon hearing this, “Ye Meijing” was already one step ahead of her, unhurriedly adding, “It’s that woman you slapped fourteen times just now.”
A look of sudden realization crossed Fairy Fengya’s face; she frowned slightly, watching Fatty on the stage. “He’s going to lose.”
“I know, so I gave him the strength enhancement talismans you gave me,” responded “Ye Meijing” slowly.
She originally wanted to find an opportunity to seal Su Mei’s cultivation until it was on the same realm as Fatty’s, but she did not expect Fairy Fengya would disrupt her entire plan.
Since she could not use the talismans anymore, she gave them to Fatty, who would not look out of place having his cultivation improve in such a short time.
As long as Fatty fought with all his might, he could definitely complete the great cause of dispensing true humiliation.
