Chapter 184: Who Made Her Enjoy Playing with People?
“Wait! The bracelet I gave to my sister is an ancient artifact. If you can get it and learn the secrets inscribed on it, you’ll be invincible!” Gu Aotian panicked as he saw Ye Meijing about to strike, hastily revealing his secret.
“Ye Meijing’s” smile grew colder. If she were truly “Ye Meijing”, she would not have known about Gu Xiangsi’s situation. But after knowing each other for so long, of course “Ye Meijing” was aware of the bracelet that Gu Xiangsi always wore.
Moreover, after Su Mei led Gu Aotian astray, he had already torn apart his relationship with Gu Xiangsi for her sake. How could he have possibly offered the bracelet to Gu Xiangsi?
It seemed that Gu Aotian was now willing to betray even his own sister. It was a pity that Gu Xiangsi could not see her own brother’s shameless behavior, which was so repulsive it made one want to vomit.
“Oh, is that so?”
“Ye Meijing” patted Gu Aotian’s shoulder, her face now adorned with an even brighter smile. Gu Aotian thought he might have just escaped a disaster and was about to sigh in relief when he suddenly felt a surge of blood rush to his head, causing unbearable pain.
“This is called a bomb, no, a blood oath… well, never mind what it’s called. I’ve implanted a seed in both of your brains. If you ever entertain evil thoughts again, your heads will explode instantly.” In reality, what “Ye Meijing” had implanted in their brains was Flower Burial, but since she could not think of another name, she casually described it this way.
However, if they truly did not fear death, they could try to remove the object from their bodies; in this world, other than Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng, no one else could do such a thing.
Upon hearing this, the two tormented individuals were instantly relieved, thinking that their newfound chance at survival was in exchange for the secret about Gu Xiangsi. Seeing this, “Ye Meijing” pulled them up from the ground, and the two immediately hightailed it.
There were still pieces of flesh cut off from Su Mei’s arm left on the ground. “Ye Meijing” frowned slightly, then took out tools from her bag of holding, dug a hole, and threw the flesh in.
“So resilient; getting slapped, punched and flayed, yet still alive.”
“Ye Meijing” was muttering as she worked, somewhat marveling at Su Mei’s tenacity.
Fatty had been watching in astonishment this whole time; looking at “Ye Meijing” digging a hole, he could not help but ask, “Big Sister, why not kill them?”
“The evidence would be too damning, and could jeopardize our entire Cozy Gang.”
This was not a demon sect; killing had its risks and consequences. “Ye Meijing” could flee, but not Fatty and the others. This place could very well be their home for life.
Even if “Ye Meijing” took all the blame upon herself, everyone would still target the Cozy Gang; it was their hard work, and she could not let her momentary impulse destroy it.
“You always consider everything thoroughly, Big Sister. But knowing their personalities, they won’t just let it slide. I’m worried about your safety.” Fatty struggled on the ground, attempting to stand but finding himself devoid of strength.
“It’s alright, I still have that mercenary. It’s you who should avoid going out alone these days.”
“Ye Meijing” did not mention planting Flower Burial in their brains. With Fatty’s lack of crisis awareness, keeping him vigilant was the best training.
“Sorry, I didn’t finish them off earlier.”
“Ye Meijing” continued to apologize, and Fatty smiled. “I know you spared Aotian because of Xiangsi, but I don’t understand; why spare Su Mei?”
“Ye Meijing” did not deny it, but when she heard Su Mei’s name, she could not help but smirk. Despite having a different face and identity, her devilish charm remained. She looked at Fatty, squatted down, and continued, “Of course, it’s for fun.”
Fatty found himself unable to keep up with his Big Sister’s thoughts. “Fun? Big Sister, you still have the mood to play?”
“Ye Meijing” gave a wry smile. “I have no choice. Who made her enjoy playing with people’s hearts?”
“She? Who is she?”
“She is just she. If I really killed her so quickly, then I’d lose.”
“Ye Meijing” remembered that old friend; no need to guess, Su Mei’s provocation should have been arranged by her.
“Sigh, even though she knows I only know how to kill and don’t understand people’s hearts, she still has to bother me like this.”
“Ye Meijing” could not help but continue murmuring to herself. She said it lightly, but her gaze looked toward the high platform in the distance, as if she could still vaguely see that old friend’s figure.
She thought that at this moment, that old friend must still be smiling…..
Not long after, other members of the Cozy Gang quickly took Fatty away. After giving them some instructions, “Ye Meijing” leisurely returned to the tournament venue, where she saw Fairy Fengya.
She was sitting there, emitting an aura that seemed out of place with her surroundings. As “Ye Meijing” approached, she saw Fairy Fengya’s gaze turn towards her, although no words were spoken, her eyes seemed to convey a message.
‘You’re back.’
Seeing that expression, “Ye Meijing” could not help but say, “I’m back.”
“Ye Meijing” smiled. She had taken a bath and changed her clothes to cover up the smell of blood. Although she did not know if she could escape Fairy Fengya’s scrutiny, it seemed that Fairy Fengya had no intention of minding her at all, as she continued to meditate with closed eyes.
Now that the competition was halfway through, “Ye Meijing” thought Fairy Fengya might be tired. She suggested, “Master, are you tired? Why don’t you rest on me for a while?”
This considerate “Ye Meijing” was in a good mood after dealing with Su Mei, and could not help but be gentle with Fairy Fengya. However, Fairy Fengya just glanced at “Ye Meijing” and continued in a faint tone, “Not tired, just too bored.”
For a moment, “Ye Meijing” felt the urge to pry Fairy Fengya’s head open and see what mysterious things were hidden inside. Not only did she not accept her kindness, but she also bluntly stated that the competition was too boring.
“However, since it’s your kindness, I’ll accept it.” With that said, Fairy Fengya actually leaned lightly against “Ye Meijing”.
“This is definitely Great-Grandma’s idea!”
“Ye Meijing” exclaimed in disbelief, but Fairy Fengya had stopped talking and even closed her eyes.
A fragrant scent wafted over, exceptionally pleasant. It was ironic that while there was a beauty in her arms, the beauty was wearing her own face.
The surrounding gazes became more numerous and piercing, but “Ye Meijing” could not be bothered to think about those things. Seeing that Fairy Fengya indeed seemed tired, she simply sat there without moving, waiting for the next round to begin.
