Release the Female Lead Ch. 220

Chapter 220: Meeting with Long Qingyue (Tenth Update)

“All those things I said earlier were just jesting. I’m not really familiar with Young Master Ling Jue,” Madam Yu continued to explain, but Ye Wenxin remained uncertain about the truth of her words.

Judging by Madam Yu’s expression, she was probably retaliating for Ye Wenxin’s rude actions earlier, which inexplicably left her feeling a bit displeased.

Ye Wenxin had always been the one to trick others, so how could she allow someone to deceive her? Thinking of this, Ye Wenxin continued, “However, your illness is indeed not difficult to cure, but the process will be very painful.”

Madam Yu didn’t believe her at all, thinking Ye Wenxin was just getting her back for the teasing. “Oh? Are you serious?”

“Yes, you might suffer more mentally than physically,” Ye Wenxin said, recalling the treatment process. Although it was still somewhat challenging, it wasn’t difficult.

The ultimate reason was that the Soul Suppressing Eighteen Needles was too heaven-defying; it had nothing to do with her personally.

“Then… what do you want?” Madam Yu showed a bit of delight, quickly realizing that things would never be so simple.

“I want you to find a lover,” Ye Wenxin said after thinking about the old man at Green Isle Manor and recalling Madam Yu’s earlier teasing. A smirk spread across her face.

For someone with a bad temper, fighting poison with poison was the best method.

Madam Yu’s face turned red. She thought that Ye Wenxin was insulting her because of her previous words, and she immediately became angry. “You’re kidding me! How could I possibly do such a thing?! I have a husband, how can I―”

“But is he good to you? Don’t you want to take revenge on him? Don’t you want to experience a woman’s happiness?” Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but continue to tempt her. In fact, she was just testing Madam Yu’s limits.

If she really agreed, Ye Wenxin definitely wouldn’t help her.

“There’s something wrong with you! I won’t agree to this. Even if I don’t love him, I would never do such a thing.”

Madam Yu panted more heavily, as if she wasn’t having an attack but was driven to a fit of rage by Ye Wenxin’s provocation.

As her breathing became increasingly labored, Ye Wenxin continued to tempt her, “This is much lighter compared to death. Won’t you reconsider?”

Ye Wenxin revealed her most sinister grin, seemingly reminiscing about her dark pleasures as Demon Lord.

Maybe she was born rebellious, but Ye Wenxin realized she had no real pursuit of justice. This world was not black and white; the only justice lay in strength.

She continued to smile, watching as Madam Yu bit her lip tightly, her face growing paler. Ye Wenxin leaned closer, studying the beautiful face in front of her.

The desire for revenge welled up within her. Madam Yu, deeply humiliated, seemed like she would rather bite her tongue than listen to Ye Wenxin’s villainous words.

Ye Wenxin hastily pressed her acupoints, rendering her powerless, when she heard Qiao Ni’s puzzled voice from behind.

“Mother, what are you doing?” Qiao Ni returned, carrying hot water, not understanding how her mother ended up in Ye Wenxin’s arms after she had just stepped out for a short while.

Ye Wenxin remained calm. “Nothing, your mother is too weak. By the way, she said she wants some spirit fruits from the dining hall. Can you go get some, Ni Ni? I’ll look after your mother.”

Seeing that Madam Yu’s condition was deteriorating, Ye Wenxin decided to first administer acupuncture to her to prevent her soul from ascending prematurely.

Qiao Ni seemed a bit skeptical, but after glancing at Ye Wenxin and then at Madam Yu on the bed, she eventually nodded in agreement.

“Alright, but don’t have fun without me,” Qiao Ni said before finally leaving.

Ye Wenxin got up to close the doors and windows, then said, “Alright, Madam Yu, I was just joking earlier. I’ll give you acupuncture now. Although it won’t cure you completely in one session, it can extend your life by a few years, so you can watch Qiao Ni grow up.”

With that, she pulled back the quilt, loosening Madam Yu’s clothes and, disregarding her struggles, began to forcibly administer the acupuncture.

Despite how wondrously sexy Madam Yu looked, Ye Wenxin had no interest in admiring. She swiftly applied the silver needles. Madam Yu was in so much pain that she almost fainted, but she stubbornly endured it without making a sound, revealing just how strong-willed she was.

“If you had agreed to my suggestion earlier, perhaps I wouldn’t be saving you now,” Ye Wenxin continued, her hands moving steadily. Madam Yu’s cold sweat intensified, soaking into the quilt.

Ye Wenxin, also beginning to sweat, released several seals on her cultivation to access a more abundant source of Qi.

As Ye Wenxin inserted the final needle, Madam Yu fainted from the pain. Ye Wenxin sighed in relief, removed the needles covered in black blood, and destroyed them all.

When Qiao Ni returned, she saw Ye Wenxin sitting nearby. Ye Wenxin smiled gently at her, saying, “Your mother is fine now. With proper care, she will recover.”

Ye Wenxin stood up from the chair, feeling a bit weak herself. Fortunately, Qiao Ni’s attention was entirely on Madam Yu, so she didn’t notice Ye Wenxin’s unsteady steps.

Noticing Ye Wenxin was about to leave, Qiao Ni asked in confusion, “Sister, are you leaving?”

“Yes, Ni Ni is a little grown-up now. You’re the best person to take care of your mother.”

After confirming the black aura around the two had faded, Ye Wenxin saw no reason to stay any longer.

She moved on, glancing outside, only to see many people flying on swords in the sky. Perhaps Ling Jue was among them. Ye Wenxin thought for a moment, and in the end, she turned and left……

Ye Wenxin’s life returned to normal. In the days that followed, Ling Jue was no longer part of her life, but a new teacher, Jin Xiaoqin, appeared.

Saying goodbye to Baili Mu was easy; hearing that Ye Wenxin was finally leaving, Baili Mu realized she no longer had to live under the threat of being knocked out, so she happily saw Ye Wenxin off.

Ye Wenxin moved into the true disciples’ compound, enjoying the freedom of having her own private space.

There was also the evasion training Jin Xiaoqin had designed, meant to prepare her for the secret realm exploration three months later.

Finally, her best friend’s invitation arrived, albeit belatedly. Ye Wenxin felt she had waited too long, but considering Long Qingyue’s own responsibilities, she found it understandable.

After all, Long Qingyue was still the Eldest Princess, while she was now just the little-known Ye Wenxin.

The meeting was set for the evening.

In the past few days, without Su Mei’s various troublesome antics, Ye Wenxin had been so at ease that she almost forgot about her. But soon enough, when she arrived, she saw the Cave Master of Broken Dragon Cave, and a disguised Su Mei staring at her menacingly.

There was no need to guess—Long Qingyue had invited her to a Hongmen Feast1.

“You’re here?”

Ye Wenxin nodded, and Long Qingyue continued, “Then let us begin dining.”

She was still sitting in her wheelchair, a black dress accentuating her unparalleled beauty. The black cat in her arms glanced at Ye Wenxin before curling back up in her embrace, seemingly uninterested in this one-sided murder banquet.

But Ye Wenxin understood that, for Long Qingyue, tormenting people’s hearts was her greatest pleasure in this world.
