Chapter 237: I’m From Shura Hall (Fourth Update)
“Wow, it’s Sister Wenxin.” Then, unaware of her mother’s sinister side, Qiao Ni laughed and hugged the doll, planting two hearty kisses on it.
At this moment, Madam Yu’s murderous intent grew even stronger, and Ye Wenxin could only watch with unease from afar.
Even so, Madam Yu continued, asking gently, “Is one enough?”
“No.”
Qiao Ni shook her head. Just as Ye Wenxin wondered how many ‘Ye Wenxin dolls’ Madam Yu had made, Madam Yu had already taken out another doll.
Qiao Ni, hugging the doll with her other hand, finally revealed a sweet smile. Madam Yu sighed with relief, as did Ye Wenxin.
Right at that moment, Qiao Ni looked at Madam Yu with anticipation and continued, “Mother, when will you take me to see Sister Wenxin?”
For a brief moment, Madam Yu’s expression stiffened, as if she couldn’t suppress her murderous intent toward Ye Wenxin.
Unable to bear watching any longer, Ye Wenxin finally fled the scene……
She soon arrived at the true disciples’ compound. Ye Wenxin rushed back to her room, intending to vent about what just happened to the Tower disciple.
However, as soon as she pushed the door open, she saw the Tower disciple quickly cover her face with a mask, refusing to give Ye Wenxin a chance to see her true face.
Then, she looked up at Ye Wenxin and said angrily, “Get out.”
Ye Wenxin paused for a moment, then walked into the room and closed the door.
“You aren’t changing clothes, you aren’t taking a bath, and we’re both female. Why should I get out?”
Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but wonder if she had been too gentle, leading the Tower disciple to think she was the master here.
“I don’t care. If you—”
“’If you don’t want to die, get out’. Is that what you’re about to say? Do you really think I’m afraid of you?”
Ye Wenxin found this Tower disciple to be truly, adorably foolish, casually barging in and fully trusting her.
The Tower disciple didn’t say anything, but showed no signs of panic. She only glared fiercely at Ye Wenxin and repeated, “Get out.”
Ye Wenxin moved forward, unfazed. “Which do you think is faster: my Sword Qi Technique, or you rushing over to kill me?”
The Tower disciple remained silent, giving Ye Wenxin another fierce glare, but eventually turned away to secure her mask back on.
Ye Wenxin lost interest. She took out the food box from her bag of holding, and left the main bedroom. She went downstairs to her Alchemy lab to continue refining pills.
The journey to Madam Yu’s Green Isle Manor would take one month to and fro, so Ye Wenxin needed to refine more pills, to ensure that Fatty and the others would have enough supplies here.
“Vitality Pills, Qi Pills… and, right, Heart-Cleansing Pills, I must refine more of those.”
Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but think of Fairy Fengya.
She had been quite infuriated with Fairy Fengya before, and even though she ended up infuriating Fairy Fengya in return, she still felt strange about it.
It was as if Fairy Fengya’s current silence was merely the calm before the storm, and soon after, she would cause even bigger trouble with Great-Grandma.
Ye Wenxin shuddered, and her brief tremble almost accidentally caused the pill furnace to explode. But luckily, she reacted in time and managed to salvage the pills, though she still ended up producing some lower than fifth-grade.
Ye Wenxin tossed those lower-grade pills into a nearby bowl, planning to keep them as snacks for the road.
As for the higher-grade pills, Ye Wenxin had prepared plenty. She intended to hand them over to Fatty, so he could sell them to maintain the Cozy Gang’s operations, and she could collect her fixed fifty percent commission.
The day passed quickly. By nightfall, Ye Wenxin had nearly finished stocking up her inventory.
Fatty knocked on the door right on time. He brought in newly bought herbs and took away the products Ye Wenxin had made, thus repeating the process every day.
“By the way, do you have any spare inner disciple robes? Could you lend me a set?” Ye Wenxin remembered the Tower disciple she was helping out.
She still had her outer disciple’s robes, but lending those to the Tower disciple would seem too abrupt. If it were inner disciple robes, however, it would be much more natural.
Seeing that Fatty had already changed into inner disciple robes, Ye Wenxin had the idea to borrow a set from him.
“I do have spares, but Big Sister, what do you need them for?”
Without hesitation, Fatty pulled out a set of inner disciple robes from his bag of holding, but he didn’t understand why Ye Wenxin would need them.
“Nothing, just wanted to wear them for fun.” Ye Wenxin held the robes in her hand, imagining them on the Tower disciple. She figured the size should be similar, and didn’t explain her purpose further.
Fatty didn’t ask any further questions. After giving today’s financial report, he quickly left.
Ye Wenxin didn’t continue refining pills. Instead, she went upstairs again and handed the inner disciple robes to the Tower disciple.
The Tower disciple had been meditating. Suddenly, feeling something covering her eyes, she reached out and was somewhat surprised to find it was a set of Azure Wings Sect disciple robes.
“You’ll be accompanying me that day, so whether you can pass through the checkpoint depends on your abilities,” Ye Wenxin explained her plan, then saw the Tower disciple looking quite astonished.
“Just like that? Aren’t you afraid that my exposure might impact you?”
The Tower disciple realized she understood Ye Wenxin less and less. She couldn’t help thinking that even though Ye Wenxin was kind, this went beyond the realm of kindness.
“I’m not. If neither of us tell, who will know?” Ye Wenxin responded calmly, seemingly not feeling that there was anything wrong with her plan.
Seeing the Tower disciple still seemed doubtful, Ye Wenxin realized that her selfless acts were once again met with suspicion.
“In fact, my real name is Lei Dada, and I’m also a demon cultivator.”
Ye Wenxin sighed, genuinely worried that if Comrade Lei Dada found out she was using his name like this, he might fly over from Earth in anger.
But it was this statement that convinced the Tower disciple.
Ye Wenxin was at a loss for how to evaluate this Tower disciple.
To say she was smart, she indeed was; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to kill so many immortal sect disciples and still come out unscathed.
To say she wasn’t smart, she indeed wasn’t; in order to find a solution to the wounds inflicted by the Sword Qi Technique, she actually came here, like a moth flying directly into the fire.
“No wonder…” Now, upon hearing Ye Wenxin’s lie, the Tower disciple seemed relieved and continued, “May I ask, which sect are you from, Senior Lei Dada?”
“Oh, I’m from Shura Hall,” Ye Wenxin replied.
The Tower disciple visibly stepped back several paces, seeming quite panicked at the mention of Shura Hall, which was reputed for loving dual cultivation.
As if feeling that she had reacted too strongly, she also revealed her own sect and name.
“I am from the Tower of Unfettered Dreams—Sha Nian-nian.” (TL: Her surname is the Chinese character for ‘Kill’)
