Chapter 247: Can You Be a Little Gentler? (Fourth Update)
“Ah!” Madam Yu was seething with anger, feeling immense humiliation from Ye Wenxin’s actions. Ye Wenxin, helpless, continued, “You can’t faint; if you do, it’s all for nothing!”
But Madam Yu was inherently weak and, unlike Ling Jue, didn’t have the cultivation to support her. Seeing Madam Yu slip into unconsciousness again, Ye Wenxin could only curse Qiao Ni.
Madam Yu was on the brink of fainting to death. Hearing Ye Wenxin speak ill of her daughter Qiao Ni, she became so enraged that she retorted, only to feel another slap on her backside.
The second slap, the third slap—Ye Wenxin, sweating profusely, repeated the process over and over until she finally completed the acupuncture treatment with Madam Yu fully conscious throughout.
After she inserted the eighth needle, Ye Wenxin saw more Yin energy escape, quickly consumed by Madam Yu’s skeletal aura.
Madam Yu was still panting heavily, her body in excruciating pain. With various wounds on the areas where she was bound, and she had long lost her dignified appearance.
Ye Wenxin untied the ropes with relief. Madam Yu gently fell into her arms.
“You’ve worked hard.”
“……”
Madam Yu didn’t speak, probably because she was completely exhausted, but her eyes still carried resentment. Ye Wenxin gave a wry smile and explained, “Hitting your backside was really a last resort.”
Madam Yu’s gaze grew colder; if looks could kill, Ye Wenxin felt she would have died countless times. Ignoring this, Ye Wenxin began to help Madam Yu dress quickly.
Madam Yu seemed to have regained some strength and pushed Ye Wenxin away, wanting to dress herself.
Ye Wenxin didn’t insist. Watching Madam Yu change, she hesitated for a moment before softly adding, “By the way, this isn’t the last time; there will be about five more sessions…” (TL: Five!?)
Madam Yu’s beautiful eyes glared furiously. She wished she could grab the knife and kill Ye Wenxin, this scumbag who had not only taken her daughter but also humiliated her.
Instead, she settled for picking up a nearby doll and throwing it at her.
Ye Wenxin steadily caught the doll, tore off the soundproofing talisman, and walked out of the carriage.
Outside, a crowd had already gathered. Elder Wu had managed to bring in a doctor, who was being blocked by Qiao Ni.
As soon as Ye Wenxin emerged from the carriage, all eyes focused on her.
“Sister Wenxin, is my mother alright?”
“She’s fine now; you can go see her,” Ye Wenxin replied with a smile, leaving everyone in disbelief.
“Everyone, please be patient, let me check on my mother first,” Qiao Ni said, still doubtful. Seeing the others’ skeptical expressions, she decided to check on Madam Yu herself.
But just a few seconds later, Qiao Ni’s scream echoed from the carriage, scaring Ye Wenxin into thinking that Madam Yu had taken her own life. She hurried over and lifted the curtain, only to see Madam Yu frantically trying to cover the marks on her body.
“Get out now!” Madam Yu shot a fierce glare at Ye Wenxin as soon as she saw her.
Ye Wenxin nodded hurriedly and withdrew again, having confirmed that Madam Yu’s Yin energy had indeed subsided somewhat. This was slightly similar to the side effects of Ling Jue’s incomplete Yin-Yang Transformation.
However, the treatment for Ling Jue’s side effects had eliminated liquid, while the treatment for Madam Yu’s Yin energy produced gas that passed through the skin.
However, Ye Wenxin hadn’t anticipated that Madam Yu would recover even faster than she imagined, making Ye Wenxin feel as if she unintentionally created yet another dangerous figure.
But now that things had come to this, Ye Wenxin didn’t dwell on it much and simply waited quietly on the side.
After a while, Qiao Ni appeared, supporting Madam Yu. Elder Wu still had trouble believing it.
After the weary doctor Elder Wu brought in assessed her and declared that Madam Yu was weak, but showed no signs of death, everyone finally heaved a sigh of relief.
The most surprised was Madam Yu herself. She had thought she would die in this desolate wilderness, but after enduring humiliation, she unexpectedly found a turnaround in her life.
She was grateful to Ye Wenxin for saving her, but recalling Ye Wenxin had mentioned that future treatments would get increasingly brutal, Madam Yu was unable to feel much gratitude towards her.
So, she just sat there quietly. Even when she saw Qiao Ni approaching Ye Wenxin again, she didn’t intervene.
“Ni Ni, what’s wrong?” Ye Wenxin naturally noticed Qiao Ni. Seeing her complicated expression, she thought that Qiao Ni might be coming to thank her. Ye Wenxin’s mood improved slightly.
“Sister Wenxin, can’t you be a little gentler? You hurt my mother’s entire body.” These words were said very plainly, yet left one’s imagination running wild.
Huang Hanyan, who was sitting beside Ye Wenxin at that moment, suddenly turned away upon hearing this, unable to hide her shaken and shocked expression.
Ye Wenxin felt quite awkward and quickly explained to Huang Hanyan, “It’s not what you think. I was just treating Madam Yu.”
Despite Ye Wenxin’s explanation, Huang Hanyan remained unconvinced. She nodded, but looked absent-minded.
Seeing Ye Wenxin was still focused on Huang Hanyan, Qiao Ni became even more dissatisfied. She pulled Ye Wenxin’s arm, and continued stirring Ye Wenxin up. “And her butt…”
“Ahem, Ni Ni, look how bright the sky is today.”
“But isn’t it cloudy today?” Qiao Ni replied quietly. She sulkily hit Ye Wenxin’s arm a few times. “Hmph, I just knew it. You like my mother!”
Ye Wenxin was about to say that she had no interest in women, but on second thought, this would only make things worse, so she said, “That’s right. I only like your mother, not you.”
She had intended to use this method to provoke Qiao Ni’s dislike, only to see a weird expression on Qiao Ni’s face.
Looking back, Madam Yu had walked up behind her at some point, her figure casting a shadow over them. Ye Wenxin felt a chill down her spine, then she noticed the knife Madam Yu was holding.
Ye Wenxin had an overwhelmingly bad feeling. She forced out a weak smile, and watched as Madam Yu handed the knife over. “This is for you.”
A closer look revealed that this knife turned out to be a god-tier weapon.
Ye Wenxin was stupefied. She recalled her own pile of knives. Everyone seemed to think she was skilled with daggers. They had no idea that Ye Wenxin didn’t even know how to properly hold one.
“This is a small thank-you gift.” When Ye Wenxin didn’t accept the knife, Madam Yu offered an explanation.
Although still reluctant, Ye Wenxin was concerned that Madam Yu might actually give her Green Isle Manor. So she reached out and took the knife, thanking Madam Yu.
